The staff was rude didn't respond to our Good-morning or hello just stared at us as we walked by. Just continued to stare at us uncomfortably wrong giving us kind of a stink eye. We weren't real sure what to think about staying here but got inside and it was newly remodeled and pretty nice. Woke up thinking we were going to have to find a place to eat breakfast but as I left our room I smelled food. There was a small selection of food like waffles instant oatmeal and cold cereal. Cereal was stale. I imagine it's hard to keep it fresh in those dispensers. Upon entering the room as I was checking out the room to be sure it was clean I walked into the bathroom and there was a towel laid out on the back of the towel and it was dirty. And the staff is fantastic I had a late fly coming in and really needed a swim after a long flight and Katie and ashlee let me swim a little past the pool close time and I was so thankful! The staff are excellent. And that's really about the end of it. The AC in the room only cools about half the room. The shower doesn't seem like the bottom was sealed correctly and it's very squeaky when you walk around on it. The worst thing for me was when I first walked into my room my senses were assaulted by the smell of cigarette smoke. I've tried for the last day to get the smell out using spray cleaner and carpet powder and still...smoke. The breakfast bar is fantastic, the coffee is always available, and the staff is always willing to help out when you need it. I would really only stay here again if it were specifically for the military rate. read more

If i could give negative stars I would ! This hotel is by far one of the worst places I have ever stayed. My children have bug bites on them. They try to keep our deposit over my autistic daughter being too loud when my daughter left, they ended up following us around the hotel harassing us about going outside to smoke.. then they kept our deposit because the room was dirty. There were no damages and no one smoked in the room to be completely honest they were going to keep our deposit as soon as we handed them the cash.. on the last day of our stay hotel managers try to enter our room at 8 AM me and my three small daughters were sleeping and had the lock on THANK GOD! I stayed here for work and I was VERY disappointed. The decor has been updated, the breakfast was fine, and I appreciated having a fridge and microwave in my room, but the customer service, shower heads, mildew smell in some rooms, and mattresses were AWFUL. There's also no elevator. We had to haul all of our equipment up and down stairs every day. I checked in in the afternoon, and the woman at the counter didn't bother telling me that my room key would get me discounts at various restaurants! I found this out 2 days later (stayed 5 days) when I overheard a different staff member telling someone else. They are charging $99/night for a room, but will give you a "discount" for $89. You can do A LOT better for that price in nearby Columbus. The breakfast is ok: biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, scrambled egg circles, bread, muffins, danishes, yogurt, and a waffle machine. When a coworker asked for peanut butter for her toast she was actually yelled at. A sign by the waffle machine advertised "chocolate morsels" and that elicited a rude response from staff as well. Of note is that all the rudeness came from one female staff member with a bad attitude. If you're taller than 5'9" you won't be able to get under the shower head. The tiles in our bathroom weren't all attached to the subfloor and we had a large hole in the carpet. TVs are CRT. The computer in the lobby is ancient and from what my roommate saw full of porn. Mattresses were old and not comfortable but the blanket, towels, and pillows were nice. The pool area looked very pleasant...in the summer they open the sliding windows so it's kind of like you're outside. There's also a small fitness room with 2 treadmills, a recumbent bike, and some weights. A lot of the wear and tear in this hotel is going to be due to its location: Camp Atterbury is just up the road, and it's frequented by soldiers for post-deployment hook-ups. We really like this place. At first contact over the phone, Bobbie was patient, cordial, and extremely helpful. Allowing us to get more bang for our buck with her experienced tips. After talking to Bobbie, we knew we had booked the right place. And upon arrival, our feeling were confirmed. Pravina checked us in and all was well. The rooms are roomy, beautiful, and clean. Really clean. Really white. There's a Free breakfast, a cozy fireplace lobby, all in a great location. Lots of parking, and the area is packed with food, shopping and more. Whoever is doing the hiring really knows their job. We talked with several of the staff, and all were friendly, accommodation, and asked about our welfare. read more

Of all the places to stay in Edinburgh, IN this should be your very last choice. Breakfast is lack luster, better to go across the street for McDonalds in the morning. The coffee is the worst I ever had. Shower is a joke, feels like I was getting mist instead of an actual shower, great if I was a plant. Pool was under repair for the two weeks we stayed (seriously?), I ran out of hot water while taking a shower, lighting in room is poor and if your not moving around in the room the main light turns off. No washers or dryers, front desk will do your laundry for $5-$7. No convenience store on property. Wi-Fi is super slow. STAY AWAY from this place! This place allows pets however I'm allergic to animals. read more

Good hotel but certainly a cut below the hotels across the street. The most annoying thing about this hotel is the lighting situation mentioned in another review. I can confirm that the room sensor is in such a poor place . I've stayed in two different rooms over the past ten days and in both of the desk lamp would go out every few minutes and I would have to get up and walk to the door to trigger the motion sensor. This place is really dated. Its like your aunt's house that was decorated back in 1979 and not touched since. Has somewhat of a dank smell which would explain why I had to change rooms after one night because there was a leak somewhere. Customer service isn't that great, I asked 4 times before my arrival for a confirmation be sent to my e-mail and they never did. Desk people are nice enough. So, I think this place must have been updated since the last reviews on here. I didn't think it seemed dated. The room did smell strongly of some kind of air freshener, but I got used to it pretty quickly. The hallway smelled of patchoulli (hmmm) but I didn't spend much time in the hall. I stayed here because I was traveling with my dog and this was the only place in town that allows pets. Really, there was nothing wrong with my stay. One kind of strange thing -- they have installed new motion sensitive light switches but the main one for the room is so far from the desk area that your light WILL turn off about ten minutes after you sit down at your laptop. At first I thought my dog, who had just walked by my feet, had somehow knocked the switch out of the wall, but no. I told the lady at the front desk that my bulb must have burned out but she explained the situation with the switch. That's a pretty weird problem to have. Otherwise, everything was fine. I used Priceline to book my reservation. I was coming there to visit my grandson in prison. I had no other reason to be in Edinburgh Indiana. I had to cancel due to my visitation application not being reviewed and approved. I didn't notice in small print that my reservation said nonrefundable. I talked with a Priceline supervisor and he wouldn't let me rebook at a later date so I didn't lose my money. I feel this was not an acceptable rule and felt they were thieves taking my money! I would never use Priceline again for booking anything! They won't try to help you but they will take your MONEY!!!! read more

UUUGGGHHHH ICK! The only reason for the 2 stars? The staff tried very hard to make me happy, but this was quite possibly the grossest place I ever stayed. Let me start off by saying, I am a smoker. Im not proud about that, but this BW brags about being a 100% smoke free facility. Not only did my room smell like a cigar party was going on for 2 weeks straight before I got there, so did the rooms of my fellow travelers. How is this possible that 4 rooms STANK of cig? They would spray stuff to get rid of the smell, but to no avail. One night the stench, which I can only describe as a homeless man sleeping under my bed, was so horrible, it actually woke me up from a sound sleep. The next day, the staff put some machine in my room to defunk it. It didnt work. There was a roach in my bathroom, the "gym" consisted of 2 broken treadmills and a stationary bike from the 80's in a room the size of a closet. The pool appeared to have a film on it. You have to cut thru the Taco Bell parking lot to get there. Its dark and dingy. It feels like a place to bring hookers or hookers could work right out of there. Not a fan. Ill prob have to return to this town often for work. I will not stay here again. read more

Awful! Toilet wouldn't flush and I reported the problem at 6:00am! We left for day and returned back at 8:30pm to discover room hadn't been cleaned at all! No clean towels, beds weren't made and toilet was still broken!!! Went back to front desk. No one from maintenance was here this late at night! We had to be up at 6:00 am the next morning and we're stuck waiting on hotel to find a maintenance person to come in and fix a toilet! Will never stay here again! Very disappointed in Best Western for this experience! Hoping the chain will compensate me or refund part of my stay for having to deal with a room with no working toilet and having to deal with maintenance people in my room at night after the hotel had ALL day to fix it! read more

Stayed here 6/28/2012. This room cost $129 and the only good I can say about this placed is the bed was comfortable & the service was friendly. The room smelled terrible and the carpet was grimy. Breakfast wasn't too great either. The OJ was basically orange flavored water. The scrambled eggs were the strangest thing I have ever encountered at a hotel breakfast bar. I think the best way to describe them is sandy and watery. Not that they were hard, but just teeny tiny little pieces, like sand. I thought maybe it was just a fluke, but the person preparing the breakfast brought out a fresh "bag" & they were the same way. This place is a real rip off & if you have any other options at all do not stay here. read more

This place was horrifying. Some friends and my husband and myself stopped here on our way down south. Now, we don't need anything fancy especially if it's just to sleep for the night.... We thought ehhhh for $75 bucks we can deal with it. I wish we had just paid the extra and stayed somewhere else- or in the car!!!! The outside doors didn't lock to get in and the hall way was that which resembled a horror movie. When we got to the room there was the biggest insect just crawling across the wall. Then we pulled back the covers to inspect the bed... Stained sheets. Not little stains- we joked it was horror movie stains! Not to mention the odor coming from said stains!! I literally layered myself in extra clothes and sleep on top of the covers with my hoodie over my face and used my own blanet and pillow I had brought. My friend actually developed some sort of an infection in her eye that we only suspect came from sleeping on that bed. She can't prove it.... But she was fine prior to us staying there. Even my husband who usually just says ehhh it's not that bad.... Was grossed out. He took all our luggage and put it in the car so "nothing would crawl in it" and sleep over the covers as well that night. Totally grossed out!!! Just..... Don't do. We read these awful reviews as well and should have listened to the warnings. read more
