The shop will give inspiration and make you smile on the way to your purchase. Street parking, closed on Mondays. I wish the store would stay open later than 3-4 pm (check their schedule), but it's a small boutique, so it's understable!

We had customized closets in a duplex we owned years ago for two small closets and had a good experience, so we decided to use them again for our home. I also saw that they were having 30% off Elfa for a limited time. I scheduled for a designer to come to our house mainly because of my walk-in closet and the fact that it could be a little more complicated. The designer was on time and very nice. She measured our closets and also took notes of the shelves that were already in place that we wanted removed. I had some back and forth with the designer over about a week, and then it took a few more days to finalize the order. I think it took a little more time because they were checking that they had all the pieces for my closet design. The designer let me know that, unfortunately, some of the pieces I had chosen were being discontinued, so they did not have enough pieces for my order. Because of that, they upgraded my order to Elfa Decor for the same cost that I was originally quoted. I was obviously very excited and really appreciated that they did that rather than having me change my closet design. I was also quoted for the demolition of what was currently in my closet, and I found the quote very fair. I scheduled installation, which was originally planned over two days because of the demolition of what was currently in our closets and because my walk-in closet was a bigger job. The installer arrived on time and, in the afternoon, asked if he could work a little later so he could finish the closets that day. I was very happy to have everything completed in one day. The installer took all the demolished pieces from our closets with him to discard, which I really appreciated. For some reason, I thought I was going to have to be responsible for getting rid of the old closet pieces, so that was a big relief. I ended up changing my configuration a little after seeing how what I chose looked in my closet, and I appreciated that the installer was flexible. There was one item that I received in the wrong color, but luckily it was something I could slide into my closet myself and did not require the installer. I ended up returning the extra pieces from changing my closet configuration a little bit, and the store did not give me any issues. Overall, I had a great experience and would use The Container Store again for other closets in my house.

It is a lean, mean location that only stocks what I assume are their best sellers. So, if there is something specific you are looking for, maybe just check inventory online (or call) beforehand just to be certain. The location is shared with a lot of other businesses so parking could be a bit of a hassle. If you're looking to park close, that just might not happen. Though, if you come in the afternoon on a weekday, there's a good chance that the lot around the store will be quite open. Evenings & weekends not so much. Staff here is very friendly. They seem to know the store really well and can help you find what you are working for quickly. Another perk of a smaller location. So, while the Woodland Hills Container Store might not be the dream land other locations are for organizers, it is still a great destination for your organizational needs. Definitely worth checking out.

The quote was then way more than what we were expecting so we didn't move forward with the work. We were then told they had a $75 cancellation fee - something we were never told over the phone. I've never had this happen before. Even with our other handyman, plumbers, etc. - if you can't do the work, you don't get paid for NOT doing the work. We were told that this would cover gas expenses - why take a job that is out of your network? They knew our address well before coming out. Also, some of our intake conversations were over text, so I wish we discussed the job over photos so they knew what we wanted to do in terms of the job and give us a proper quote. Just felt very scammy and weird after them asking for money without starting the job.

Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He also was great at explaining how to operate my new system. But most of all, weeks after the install, I am sooo happy with it! Really great setup with excellent user interface and excellent camera resolution. Every place I contacted either told me they couldn't help or wanted me to replace the entire unit. Star Service 88 was the first company willing to actually diagnose the problem instead of giving up. The technician took the time to remove my head unit, completely disassemble it, find the issue, and repair it. He explained everything along the way, was patient, and charged a very fair price for the work. It's rare to find someone willing to do component-level electronics repair these days, and that's exactly what they did. On top of fixing my radio, he also noticed my sound system wasn't tuned properly from a previous installation. He took the extra time to balance my speakers and improve the overall sound quality, fixing a problem that another shop had left behind. They solved a problem that over 15 other businesses wouldn't even attempt, and they did it professionally, honestly, and at a fair price. We had two very big mirrors we needed to hang in our living room to help bring in more light from outside. Each one was 2x6 ft. wide and must have weighed 70lbs. We weren't sure if we could even put these mirrors up on the wall. However, speaking with RI office, they were able to send out an "on-sight team" prior to our scheduled appointment date in order to see if we could even have them hung. When the on sight team came, they took some measurements and used a stud finder to find where they could hang these mirrors off the wall. After they found the studs, they passed the information to their office, then they sent out an installation team the following day. With the information they had from the office and the on sight team, the technicians must have spent only about 25 minutes to hang up each mirror.
