It was a semi random night last week that I ended up at Respectable Street. There is a old rockabilly band I've always liked, the Reverend Horton Heat, and they were coming to South Florida for 1 show. It was at this joint "Respectable Street" I had never heard of. I asked around and a couple friends said they didn't care for it. Boy were these off on that assessment. I arrived Sunday night plenty early for the show. I got a chance to hang out back in their courtyard, which was a nice spot to chill for a bit. There's a full bar out there, a large tree for shade and plenty of spots to sit for a minute. They have a couple cool blowups including this elephant. a Florida afternoon shower started though so I went in to catch the opening act. They were pretty solid. The room had good acoustics overall. I grabbed a drib here and had great quick service. For the show I was close to the stage. Its only about 3 feet off the floor so I really felt right on top of the show. After a great show I called it a night, and made note to tell people about this venue that's doin it in West Palm.

Nice small venue where you can get intimate with your favorite bands. I will definitely be back for another show.

Pros: I hadn't been to this venue in about 15 years (I live about 1.5 hours away) and I was pleasantly surprised that they have made it soooo much nicer! The space somehow looks bigger. It's well maintained, so although it's a dive bar of sorts, it's actually not grimy at all. The outside area was so chill and they had neat glow in the dark art. Tons of parking all around the area. Cons: limited bathroom stalls.

Punk music has a certain juxtaposition between normalcy and mundanity that almost grounds you. You know what they say...Anyone and everyone is just one pair of Doc Martens away from a revolution. Well, walking into Respectable Street is certainly one of those balancing acts we all should enact every so often. It's grungy. It's got grit. There's personality for days. Most importantly, it never goes out of style. Located right on Clematis Street, this spot never seems to sell out which is why it's a National treasure in my eyes. Back in the day, I used to just drink a PBR and quote Nietzsche. Now, I order a porter and just bop my head to the Ramones. It's no frills and it's done right. It's Funky Punk & Punk never dies.

Each event is different at this cool alternative club. This was my second show for Lovesong: The Cure Tribute. They always deliver. Every tune is played well. Come with friends to enjoy all the fun! Last weekend I joined in on their Free Block Party and Ordinary Boys concert inside and Front 242 outside. An incredible Free block party. Always the best talents and more interesting than the east end of Clematis. Drinks are cheap!!! Nothing ever crazy here. Staff and clientele have been friendly.

I went to this venue for the first time and was blown away! Even though it's a far drive for me I came for a concert here. I love how intimate and casual vibes are. It's close to restaurants and that's definitely a plus in my book. I really loved the art and decorations to this venue. Similar to ones in miami. But there's something very special about this venue. I also had a drink at the outside bar area and the drink was to perfection. I definitely recommend this venue. And will hopefully return to this area soon.

    Chillin' at the patio bar.

What is the cover price? Is there no cover price before a certain time?

    Which night is karaoke?

Sorry, but we do not host karaoke at Respectable Street.

Can I bring someone who is 18?

Respectable Street is 21+ for almost all nights. When there is a National touring act coming to play the venue, we are allowed to do 18+ shows. That information is almost always on the Facebook event for the given show.

Unfortunately, almost everything else fell flat. The menu is quite limited, and the drink selection is even more restricted. No Merlot on the wine list? That was surprising. We were also disappointed to hear the skirt steak was already sold out by 5:00 pm, especially given how few entrée options there were to begin with. The food itself was a major letdown. The "de-boned" bronzino was anything but-- it arrived with tons of bones, making it unpleasant to eat. The French dip sandwich was downright horrible, lacking flavor and horrible texture. Service was slow and inattentive, which only made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, there was a bug floating in my martini. Water kept dripping from the vent onto our table throughout the meal. Little things like that really ruin the vibe. If you're going for the nice setting alone, maybe it's worth a quick drink. But for a proper dinner with reliable food and service? I'd look elsewhere. One star and that's being generous for the atmosphere and prime location.

I've been to iThink Financial many times before and it has been somewhat of a hit or miss in terms of the enjoyment of the venue. However, over the last few times I've gone, especially for my most recent concerts there, they've gone above and beyond making sure their guests are not only comfortable and having a great time, but safe as well. Summer concerts can be brutal. Especially at a venue like iThink which is outdoors. However, the staff provided free water for anyone that needed. Also, the large fans in the overhang did a decent job keeping the air circulating. We were front row for Hilary Duff and it was truly an experience like no other. We could see Hilary perfectly and she could see us too! Knowing the artist can actually see the audience, especially those upfront was huge. There was several times she pointed at us and even mimicked a dance move as I was doing during "Why Not?" - oh, girl I was SHAKING. The music sounded great and there were enough screens for everyone to see her clearly no matter where they were in the crowd. The stage and show itself was not the only thing that made this venue enjoyable. The concessions were abundant and offered variety. We really wanted a tour-exclusive light up cup. Unfortunately, the first stand we went to sold out, but we eventually found them at a different stand just on the other side of the venue. The drinks that came in those cups were delicious and didn't feel like a waste of money. You absolutely got what you paid for. Now, as with every concert, concessions and tour-exclusive merch tends to be expensive and that was true here as well. However, iThink has a 2 chicken salad wraps for $10 deal that we absolutely took advantage of. The wraps were yummy and kept us satisfied for the rest of the night. The staff and security guards were very attentive! We were actually checked on a few times throughout the night and made friends with one of the security guards . They were friendly and made you feel safe. All in all, iThink Financial has all the makings of a great venue: good seats, good music output, good concessions, and a great staff. I'll be back for more shows in the future!

Paying up to get in early, whether via the "Fast Lane" or the "VIP Club" does not get you in earlier than anyone else. All gates opened at 5:30 pm. False advertising. The food choices were all there, but presented poorly. No mustard or relish for the hot dogs. The fried dumplings were served on a sauce similar to General Tsao's, but none of the other dipping sauces advertised could be found anywhere. All of that said, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our seats were comfortable and the video screens big and easy to watch, even when our view of the stage was blocked. I wish there was a meaningful way to suggest changes to management, but I suspect they simply don't care.

Unfortunately, my recent visit to see the Peking Acrobats was a completely different experience--one that left me feeling singled out and deeply uncomfortable. I understand that policies evolve. Paid parking is one thing, even if it feels like an added burden on top of already expensive tickets. What's harder to overlook is how I was treated from the moment I arrived. While parking, I backed into a spot as I've done on previous visits and was immediately and aggressively corrected by a parking attendant. If it's head-in parking only, that's perfectly fine--but the tone was unnecessarily harsh. What stood out even more was that a nearby vehicle was also backed in and remained that way without being addressed or corrected. Despite that, I was the one singled out. Inside the venue, things escalated. When I approached the information desk to ask about a note on my ticket for a complimentary pre-show drink, the staff member questioned the legitimacy of my tickets--where I got them, when I got them--and then had my family and me step aside in the lobby while they rescanned them to confirm they were "real." We stood there for about 15 minutes, feeling as though we had done something wrong, simply for asking a question. What was most telling was what happened next. When an elderly white patron approached the same desk with the exact same note on his ticket, the tone immediately shifted. Only then did staff begin resolving the issue, and only then were we directed to redeem the drinks we had already been delayed over. The contrast was hard to ignore. Unfortunately, the pattern continued. After purchasing drinks and a few snacks, we were stopped almost immediately after leaving the concession line and told we could not take food into the theater. Again, I complied without issue. But once seated, I couldn't help but notice multiple other patrons--directly around us--eating inside the theater: cookies, popcorn, even outside food. None of them were stopped. None of them were approached. By that point, the issue was no longer about the rules--it was about how selectively they were enforced. In the span of less than an hour, I was approached three separate times by staff, each interaction carrying an edge of suspicion or correction that others around me did not seem to experience. As an Asian-American man attending with my interracial family, it became increasingly difficult to dismiss how targeted it felt. What should have been a joyful evening turned into something else entirely. It's a difficult feeling to describe--being made to feel out of place in a venue you've supported for years, and then having to process that in front of your child. This experience left me disappointed and honestly hurt. The Kravis Center has always been a place I respected, but after this, it's hard to see myself returning anytime soon.
