I explained to Michael I was a new client but hadn't heard from them after the shutdown. He hasn't replied. I'm very disappointed with their lack of communication. I understand things got wonky after the shutdown but they could've communicated much, much better than they did. I would not recommend this business as tax preparers. I am now left to find another business to help with my 2019 business and personal taxes as now I am late and face penalties and fines. I did all the correspondences with them as their response was pretty much nonexistent.

Since then, I've called at least five times to check on the status of my return. I spoke with his receptionist multiple times and with an account/tax manager twice. The complete lack of follow-through and communication has been incredibly disappointing, and I am now seeking a different CPA. I do not recommend this firm.

That is considered the gold standard in accounting. Even with Forbush's significantly above market fee, I was comfortable. However, my work was delegated to an overworked newby, whom I suspect was not even a CPA. When I received an unexpected and unexplained refund check from the IRS, I brought it to his attention. He didn't know what to do, so he did nothing. The result of this inaction was an eventual penalty by the IRS. I finally obtained Brent Forbush's personal intercision with the IRS, but it was to no avail, even though the mistake was really made by the IRS. I did not get what I paid for and I have now taken my business elsewhere. I do not recommend this firm for individual tax preparation.
