I recently moved BOTH of my parents into "The Heritage" and I really can't rave about it enough…read more The staff is WONDERFUL. The food is surprisingly great (I ate there for a week!), and the facility is homey, and very well decorated - and that's coming from me, an interior designer! The staff will really try to accommodate whatever you need - whether it be clean dish towels, a bath, a ride to dinner, or just about anything. I also enjoyed meeting the residents. It's important to live with nice people, too! ;-) I highly recommend The Heritage at Framingham.

My friend could no longer live on her own and needed a safe nurturing environment with on site activities. I was on the hunt. I left a message one evening at Heritage and was contacted early the next morning. It was one of the easiest things I have done in the past few years dealing with facilities for both my Mom and husband. Everyone I met went out of their way and rearranged their schedules to facilitate a quick transfer out of a rehabilitation facility which my friend was paying out of pocket for since her insurance ran out. I am so impressed by the staff and their attitudes. They seem to enjoy their jobs! My friend loves the activities and the food. She calls me to brag about some of her meals. She is the happiest I have seen her in years! If you have someone who needs a safe haven to live and thrive in check out the Heritage. Retired RN

I arrived at Mary Ann Morse for inpatient rehab following back surgery to include O.T. and P.T…read more From the moment I arrived on a Friday afternoon until I left the following Thursday all I can say is this was one hellish experience. I learned quickly that if I needed to use the bathroom and get any personal care it was on me. No one answered call buttons. So on the second day forward I had to get up myself while in a lot of pain. My pain meds were consistently given late and on one occasion I had to wait 12 hours for pain meds because Stacey claimed she had given them to me. From day TWO I kept a written record of all meds and time received. I WENT THROUGH A NIGHT OF EXTREME PAIN BECAUSE OF A NURSE WITHHOLDING PAIN MEDICATION. THE PLACE FROM HELL DESCRIBES IT WELL!

My 88-year old aunt recently went to Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center for in-patient physical…read moretherapy after being discharged from the hospital. I'm sorry to report that the care there is NOT good. In fact, it's terrible. My cousin (a nurse) said that she had to have confrontations with the staff on a DAILY basis because they were "horrible." The aids are rude and hostile foreigners, who barely speak English. Here is one example of the mistreatment my aunt received: Despite having communicated very clearly that my aunt is severely allergic to wheat gluten, the kitchen has REPEATEDLY sent her gluten-containing foods. Naturally, this causes my aunt's stomach to get "upset." She wasn't able to get to the bathroom on time. When this happened, the nurse's aide scolded her and said, "Look at the mess you made!" My aunt was taken aback and said, "Do you think I wanted this to happen??" Then, to make matters worse, she said that the aide was very rough with her as she was cleaning her. What kind of disrespectful nursing care is that??!! My aunt is supposed to have physical therapy, daily, but my cousin said that, many times, "she stays in bed all day." When she does have PT, it is good, but there just isn't enough of it. Half of the time, my cousin said, she would go in to visit, and my aunt wouldn't have her oxygen on! Then, the nurses would proceed to argue with her about whether or not she needed it. (My aunt has fluid in her lungs from cancer!) It hasn't even been a full week yet and we want to transfer her out of this place. I can't believe Mary Ann Morse has the AUDACITY to treat our elderly citizens this way, and then send a bill to insurance and our government, calling it "healthcare." Do I need to I say anything more? Beware! Do NOT go here!

Mom is 95, has become more fragile, but still spunky. It's been 2 weeks and the folks at Traditions have done their best to make her transition smooth. Pro's 1. Clean, well lit, lots of natural light, kept in good repair. 2. Homelike feeling - this was once a mansion. 3. Spacious public areas - paneled Great Room, library, outdoor sitting areas, small sitting areas on every floor. 4. Very nice waitstaff, cleaning staff, front desk staff. Staff knows every resident by name and seem to genuinely care when they ask "How are you doing today?" 5. Very cordial residents. Yes some are cranky, but most are very nice. 6. Maintenance staff lowered clothes bar in Mom's closet, hung pictures on the wall courteously and fairly quickly after Mom requested it. 7. If a resident does not show up for a meal, the staff knows it and checks on their absence. It makes us feel that Mom is being watched over. 8. The apartment has adequate space - not huge, not small; just right. 9. Seats are not pre-assigned in the dining room. So, you can meet other residents over time. 10. There are daily activities - seated exercise, DVD movies, travelogues, bingo, etc. 11. In comparison to other places we visited, Traditions had an atmosphere of activity. When residents are more mobile, they go out during the day and the place feels lifeless. When residents are less mobile, they sit around all day doing nothing or stay in their rooms. At Traditions, even though there certainly are residents in wheelchairs and with walkers, there was a vitality to them. 12. If Mom ever needed to go from a state of independent living to assisted living she would not have to change apartments. This is huge. 13. If a resident has a car, the staff will clean the windows and shovel it out of the snow. Food 1. The food quality was adequate. We had 2 lunches, 2 dinners when we visited Mom. 2. The portions are adequate and you are asked if you want more - you can have all you want. 3. There are some items which are available every day + daily specials. Not as wide a variety as some other places we saw, not as restricted as others. Con's 1. Price for 1 bedroom is high at $6000/mo, but completely within line with other facilities in this area.
