The 'living' area

This hotel was conveniently located near the city and the Metlife stadium. Just what we needed! Check in was easy/quick. Hotel staff were friendly. This hotel was modern, clean and the best complimentary breakfast I have ever seen at a hotel! More offering than any other establishment! The bed was spacious and I can tell you my boyfriend wasn't feeling well and he had a good nights sleep on this bed! Next to a shopping plaza and the movies. Also, 2 store fronts out the back door (left) and you are inside a Dunkin Donuts! Only thing... the showers are very modern with no glass door- water spilled everywhere! Also, if you are hungry don't stop into Houlihan's right outside the back door. (Just say no!)

Don't brother staying at this hotel pretty UNSANITARY and doesn't want to fix the issue, will not take responsibility of the health hazard they provide their guests! Refusing to refund for cancellation/change in reservation is one thing, but to have your guest stay in a biohazard room that ends up giving them a rash is UNACCEPTABLE and saying we are responsible for the situation for not reporting sooner is asinine!

We've stayed in this plaza before but this is a new Residence Inn. It's in a great area. The room was clean, staff was nice. I took 1 star off for the tiny pool that looks huge on the hotel website. This is a great area to stay in if you are visiting NYC. There is a Transit Bus stop in the plaza with service almost all day. You can be in the city within 30 minutes unless it's rush hour! There is also a ferry service a short drive away. And free parking! Inside the plaza are restaraunts, a Duniin and a Starbucks, a bank and a nearby movie theater. I checked in online and gave an arrival time of 2. We actually arrived at about noon & our room was ready. As we are Elite members, our 1 bedroom suite was upgraded to a 2 bedroom. The extra room and extra bathroom was really nice after a full day of navigating the city. Apple Watch told me it was a 10 mile day! We'd definitely stay here again in the future!

This hotel has it all: great customer service, clean rooms, nice breakfast, free parking, bus stop just a block away (to take you downtown Manhattan for less than $4.00) and great location! I have been staying at many hotels and I tend to be very picky but I can't find any bad thing about this hotel. We were greeted in a professional manner, the room was beautiful and clean, there was even small kitchen, including big fridge and freezer. Very close to hotel you can find different restaurants and Walmart. Or you can leave your grocery shopping list with the front desk. It is a nightmare to go downtown Manhattan by car - it may take more than an hour and you will be paying $14 for the toll and then $20-$30 for parking. Just a block away there is a bus stop and the bus you will get downtown for only $3.75. (Be sure not to leave at rush hour, we took the bus around 11am and it took about 20-25 minutes.) Will definitely return.

Effortless check in and out. (They have an app) The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Our room was like a studio apartment with a full refrigerator, stovetop, microwave and sink. They have a nice outside patio area to eat your buffet style breakfast. The only thing negative I can say was the pool could have been bigger and cleaner with some windows to the outside. We will be back again but without our bathing suits.

I had notified the concierge Daniel ahead of time that my mini and I would be arriving after 10pm due to poor weather conditions during our travels. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our reservation had been canceled. Chris was on duty at the time of our arrival and quickly stepped in to resolve the issue, which I truly appreciated. However, because of the cancellation, we were initially placed in a room that seemed like it hadn't been in regular rotation--it had an unpleasant odor that made it uncomfortable. The next morning, I spoke with the manager, Frank Super (great name!), who was both personable and empathetic. He promptly addressed the situation by moving us to a different room and adjusting the rate to account for the inconvenience. The new room was noticeably cleaner, fresh, and much more comfortable. Throughout the remainder of our stay, the staff continued to impress. Katrina, another concierge, was especially helpful in ensuring the room change went smoothly and that we were well taken care of. Overall, the team at this Hampton Inn was friendly, welcoming, and committed to making things right. The daily continental breakfast was a lovely addition and a great way to start the day. It's also worth noting that the hotel offers shuttle services, but rides need to be scheduled with the concierge on duty in advance. One small note: the lobby restroom could use more attention after hours, as it wasn't always maintained by guests. Despite the initial hiccup, the level of customer service and recovery made a lasting impression. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

YIKES!! This place is entirely questionable. "Extended Stay America - Meadowlands - Rutherford"…read more(notice the "East" is missing because it's a different location & different hotel) is actually better. It's so easy to get the 2 confused though. This location is around the corner from the American Dream Mall, a 2 minute drive. The other one, while it's close also it's not as close as this one. That other one is a 6 minute drive. None of the hotels I write about, within close proximity of the American Dream Mall, are ones you can walk to. There are no sidewalks. It is extremely dangerous. You have to have your own car or an Uber, Lyft, or shuttle service. PARKING Plenty of parking spots to choose from! It seems like a gated parking lot, but it's not. The gate doesn't close or open. It's open all the time. While at the other hotel of the same name, you don't need a parking pass on your rear view mirror. This one does give you a parking pass to put into your car. ROOM 1 We had received room 316 upon checking in around 9pm. The room was in a sorry state to say the least. There was no bedding, no sheets, the trashcans were not made. The shower curtain was not hung. There was no blankets, no soap, nothing! Everything was questionable. There were odd stains everywhere! It seemed like someone lived there for about a week and just left, but the hotel cleaning staff did nothing about it or started it and never finished? There was some odd Poland Spring bottle with purple liquid inside the bathroom. Didn't touch it. Didn't want to touch it. Someone had left it there prior to us receiving this room. The kitchen is very run down, but it is rundown even in the other hotel also. I would not risk using it. Both hotel kitchens seem like a fire would most likely start on one of these. The fridges are full size with a freezer but also very basic, old, unkempt etc. The shower in this bathroom had a tub, the other hotel didn't, but it was very visibly run down! And like I mentioned, the shower curtain was not hung. Overall, if I had stayed in this room I probably wouldn't have been the happiest because this is supposed to be a service and this room didn't even meet living requirements of any kind. ROOM 2 The second room we were given in switch from the first was room 146. It actually was presentable and had everything the first room did not. But it had a smell to it upon walking in. That was quickly masked as soon as we turned on the AC unit. The bathtub and shower was pleasant! An adequate amount of towels was given. The hot water gets very hotel very quickly, and it was really nice! But despite everything being as it should with this room, I didn't have the best sleep. When the AC is off, it's immediately warm in the room. With the AC on it's immediately cold, but the blanket is warm enough to sleep under. The black out curtains aren't completely blackout so I constantly saw light shining through it throughout the night. I've stayed in a hotel in close proximity to the American Dream Mall where the conditions were similar to this stay BUT they had the comfiest bed and mattress! It was a good mattress and held up well during canoodling, and even though my man said he slept well we definitely won't be coming back. I was so darn exhausted from a lack of sleep the night prior and snowboarding all day on top of it that I thought for sure I'd get sleep in this room. But alas, I did not! After a near 2-hour drive home, I did go back to sleep. BREAKFAST There is a complimentary breakfast available from 6am to 9:30am. Not the most option choices, but my man & I enjoyed the packaged muffins. We didn't want to risk trying the coffee out. SERVICE The guy at the front desk was really dope and accommodating! I would rate him alone 5-star. He has a really cool chill vibey style to him. He helped us switch rooms quite easily when my man went down to speak with him about the subpar room we had just received when we checked in late at night. Originally, we were going to get a discount, but the man and I both wanted a decent room to sleep in. I had a near 2-hour drive home the next day, and he had work at 8am in the morning. PRICE We paid a total of $120.87. This hotel is 13 cents cheaper than the other one. So I would suggest booking the other one for a better experience! OVERALL It does seem like people actually live here. Both rooms were not soundproof, and I could hear other guests from down the other side of the hotel from our room, or in the corridor while they are in their rooms. The rooms are not in the best shape of the world, even at the other location as well, and could use a massive update! Especially for a hotel so close to such a large scale mall. The service was kind to us, and luckily they had a different room to give us. Because everything was amended and we generally had a good stay, 2-star is the best this place can offer.

Room was clean and spacious and surprisingly quiet considering we were right next to a busy intersection. Black out curtains were a must as the hotel is located near a heavy business area. Good news is that lots of eating places and a Target close enough to walk to. The morning of the cruise we handed our key to the front desk and they gave me a claim ticket for when we return. They moved my car to an on site covered garage for the time we were away, very secure. The shuttle was actually early which we loved and the driver was nice and a blessing to have driven thru NJ and NY traffic to get us to the ship. Dropped us off right at the terminal, so easy! When we returned, we got back early (shuttle was supposed to be there at 9a, we were off the ship by 7:30a) so I called the shuttle service and they said they are on the way! We waited about 45 mins at the meeting spot and the shuttle arrived to take us back to the hotel. The ride to the terminal was about 30 mins on a Thursday morning, the ride back to the hotel was about 20 mins on a Tuesday morning. both the shuttle drivers and the hotel staff were incredible and we would definitely book here again next time we sail out of NY.

Their rude demeanor and lack of basic customer service skills made check-in frustrating. It's clear that better training--or a new team--is needed to improve the guest experience. I would not recommend this place based on the poor service alone. Not only was the front desk staff rude and unhelpful, but the facilities were also lacking. When a place doesn't offer great amenities, the least they can do is provide acceptable customer service--but that wasn't the case here. Instead of making guests feel welcome, the staff acted indifferent and dismissive. The combination of poor service and subpar facilities makes this a place I wouldn't recommend. My visit was 3/22/25.
