I am not sure if all the rooms are this way but my 2 bedroom suite was really dirty. if they vacuumed in there it was hard to tell, and it was obvious that certain areas had probably not been cleaned in a very very long time (bedboard, counter corners, under the bed etc). what made it worse was that they seem to have renovated only part of the room as only certain furnishings were updated while the rest were run down (for example there is a nice new bathroom sink, counter & mirror but it's mounted on a gross worn down vanity with really gross drawers). The carpet throughout the 2 bedroom suite is not something I felt comfortable walking on without shoes. Staff was perfectly nice and I did not feel unsafe at all, but sorry this place is nasty.

    Loose tiles

Nice staff but that's about it. I pick Residence Inn because they usually have a great design and layout. This particular location was a bit gross. First of all the bed had some brown dried liquid on the mattress that we pray wasn't vomit or some fecal matter. Then in the bathroom, the tiles were loose and coming out. This location could use an update and upgrade. The rates were definitely too high for the cleanliness or lack there of for our room.

This was our first time staying at this place. We reserved our room online, it was pretty easy to do. Upon arriving to the hotel at about 9:30 in the evening, we were tired and ready for our room. There seem to be an entire Army Troop from China checking in just before us. So the lobby was rather busy. There was a man and a young lady working the front desk. The really were not very friendly, which is the reason for my 4 stars instead of 5. The rooms were very clean and at the same time pretty large. There was a pull out bed from under the couch which my child slept in and said was very comfy. My husband and I were in the king size bed in the bedroom area, it really was an amazing bad. The lid for the AC unit in the room was broken but other than that the room was very nice. The main complaint that I have about this room, is the fact that it was right above the fire pit near the lobby and pool area. The problem with this is they keep the fire going apparently all night long. I was woken up multiple times from people talking and laughing from under my window. As long as the air was running I could not hear them, but II the air turned off - I heard everything! The free breakfast that was offered in the lobby had quite a variety of food. Everything from croissants and toast and bagels 2 eggs and sausage and Waffles. The breakfast area was also kept very clean and they were on top of filling the food as it became low. I think I would stay here again to be honest, however I would request a room nowhere near the fire pit

Poo filled trash bin that has been ignored for God knows how long.

First and foremost, there is no booklet that shows hotel amenities, a map of the complex, restaurants in the area... all because of "COVID-19"... I guess maps spread viruses but the book of Mormon and holy Bible do not LMAO what a joke. For the most part the rooms are nice however, it is not very pet friendly. Online it said that it was which is why I chose this place. The pet area is a 8 x 8 square plot of grass in the corner of the parking lot. Even though the complex has pads all through it but no maps, this is where they have us bring our pets. There are no bags for waste. I always bring my own so that isn't a concern... The garbage can there wise. The garbage can where you're supposed to put the dog waste after you're done is full. This area is completely ignored. I don't think anyone even maintains the garbage in this corner. It is disgusting. Thank God I'm just staying here while I'm having repairs done to my house before I put it on the market. I can at least take my dog back to the house to go to the bathroom. I am very disappointed. Also, if you're planning on working here and using their Internet, don't. Devices like iPads and iPhones connect just fine. Computers do not. I will also be going home to work during the day since I can't use the Internet here. Just kind of ridiculous because all the reasons I got this room aren't really viable for me. It's great if you just want a place to crash and go shopping.

At 30 years old, this was my first time ever staying at a hotel by myself, outside of business trips. I grew up with overprotective parents, and because of this, I always think to myself that I'm not allowed to travel anywhere out of state on my own (obviously I am). As someone being in a different state alone that looks younger than their actual age, I felt safe in this particular area. Since this was a short trip for me, I wasn't looking at staying at a fancy hotel. Room stayed in: 323, a queen room facing the pool area. Pros: +Conveniently located across the street from State Farm Stadium +Walking distance to many retail stores, restaurants, and entertainment sites +Close to my friend/former coworker's apartment complex +Digital key available through the Hilton Honors app +Comfortable bed - I slept quite well both nights +Kitchenette available, including microwave and fridge/freezer combo +Quick check in and check out +Little to no highway noise +Free continental breakfast +Fitness center +Free water upon check in Cons: -No streaming services available on TV I had some trouble getting the TV to work on my first night. I thought it was broken and I almost requested to change rooms, but then I realized that the HDMI cable was unplugged from the TV, so that solved the problem. I didn't come to Glendale just to watch TV and I would be away from my room for the majority of my trip, but I do like to fall asleep with the TV on, just like a little white noise kind of thing for me. Overall, I had an excellent stay here. Will definitely stay here again next time I visit Glendale!

A Disquisition on Hospitality at Tru by Hilton Phoenix Glendale Westgate: Or, How One Man's Virtue…read moreRedeems the Mundane By Capt. 619, Peripatetic Scholar of Transient Domiciles and Human Excellence Let us first dispense with the axiomatic: the modern hotel, in its essence, is an exercise in utilitarian homogeneity. A room, as Kant might posit, is a synthetic a priori--a space defined not by its inherent qualities, but by its function. Tru by Hilton Phoenix Glendale Westgate adheres to this universal truth. Its chambers are serviceable, its amenities competent, its aesthetic an echo of the Platonic "Form of the Mid-Tier Lodging." On the scale of Aristotelian potentiality, it achieves a hexad (6/10)--a respectable, if unremarkable, actualization of shelter. Yet! Here lies the rub: hospitality, as Seneca observed, is not a static condition but a dynamic virtue. And in this locus, virtue found its avatar in Richard, a steward of such magnanimity that he transmuted leaden routine into golden experience. I. The Telos of Service: Richard as the Unmoved Mover Each dawn, as Helios' chariot crested the Arizona horizon, Richard greeted guests with a Socratic inquiry: "What may I do to render your day excellent?" Not a hollow pleasantry, but a dialectic--an invitation to co-create eudaimonia. His attentions were neither obsequious nor perfunctory, but precise as Aquinas' Five Ways. Forgotten toothpaste materialized; coffee preferences were memorized with the rigor of a Benedictine scribe; local dining recommendations bore the insight of a seasoned flâneur. In him, the hotel's potential 6 became an actualized 10. II. The Paradox of Hospitality: Substance vs. Accident Let us parse the Categories. The hotel's substance (rooms, linens, waffle irons) belongs to the genus "Adequate." But its accidents--the staff, the ethos--are where essence resides. Richard, like Descartes' genius malignus in reverse, dissolved skepticism with each act of grace. A traveler who, like myself, dwells 200 nights yearly in interchangeable abodes learns this: marble foyers fade; human warmth endures. III. The Ethical Imperative To proprietors of such establishments, heed Aristotle: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." Richard's excellence is habitual, his ethos contagious. He is the phronimos of hospitality, embodying practical wisdom where others merely follow script. Conclusion: A Summa of Transient Flourishing Tru by Hilton is, in itself, a cipher. But within its walls operates a man who elevates the prosaic to the profound. To stay here is to witness a Thomistic proof: Existence precedes essence. The hotel exists; Richard gives it essence. Verdict: 6/10 (sine Richard); 10/10 (cum Richard). Fellow wayfarers--seek him. For in a desert of mediocrity, he is the oasis. "Non nobis solum nati sumus." --Capt. 619, Emeritus Fellow of the Collegium Hospitium et Peregrinationis
