This may be the worst Marriott I have stayed at that I can recall in my years of travel. I was concerned to even to open my suitcase or sleep, I actually checked the mattress to make sure there were no bed bugs. I am glad I only had one night here. The hotel itself needs major updates, the rooms were dingy and felt unclean. I don't think the cleaners even cleaning would help this place. The bathroom and shower were very outdated, the toilet didn't seem clean, you could see mold or something around the top edge, I tried not to think about it while using the toilet. I had to come back to this area for work the following week, I canceled my reservation here and booked the home 2 suites which was much cleaner. read more

Fitness center is not as described. 2 treademills, an elliptical and a weight bench. No bikes. Thermostat in workout center was locked and set to 75 degrees, so more of a sweat lodge than a fitness center. They also claim guest have access to "GymX" but that appears to have closed months ago. Rooms are dated and badly need to be refreshed. A/C worked intermittently. read more

Nasty hotel, left to go run errands and came back to a bed bug in the hotel. Managers didnt seem to concerned.

Pet owners beware! Find another hotel!! During my stay my dog was attacked by another guest's off leash German shepherd. This attack resulted in an ER vet visit as my dog had multiple injuries (luckily she's ok now). The day of the incident I was told the manager would call me and no call. Unfortunately I had to remain at this hotel and a few days later I saw the same guest with his German shepherd off leash again. I reported this to the front desk and requested the GM call me. I also called Marriott - no call. So 3 days later I called Marriott again and the GM closed my case without contacting me. The other guest is a long term guest and clearly has no intention of following the pet agreement (that you sign when you get there) and will not keep his dog on leash despite his dog attacking mine completely unprovoked. Management is unresponsive and doesn't seem to care. I get accidents happen - but this could have been avoided had the other guest's dog simply been leashed. I hope this doesn't happen again - but clearly Marriott won't do anything and this guest also won't keep both other dogs and his own safely on a leash. I wish someone had warned me before I booked there. read more

Not too bad for the price. There were some issues checking in and getting my key when it was a little later in the day. Wasn't sure if anyone would show up for check in or if I was just not going to be able to get into my room. Waited for about 20-30 min before someone came in. They never could get the mobile key to work even though I tried several times throughout the visit. I also was given a flyer or on the all that says that room service will be every 2 days during the stay but I called in the third day to ask and they then said it was a by request only room service. I would have preferred that they say that during check in since I came back to an uncleaned room expecting it to be cleaned by that time. But once I asked I was able to get a cleaning during my stay. There were some stains on the walls that I think cold have been addressed especially when I first arrived. Little details about the place could have made a big difference in overall experience. Traveling for work and this is a recommended hotel which falls within the government rate. If I could annotate a negative Star I would do so. 3 days 3 different rooms 300 flea bites 0 follow ups from the staff or management Do not stay in rooms 129 and 219, they are infested with fleas. I was able to put white socks on and see them hop on and off me. The hotel is pet friendly which is great, however it would be great if they were utilizing the pet deposit to do what they are supposed to do... Deep clean. read more

I am adding an update to this situation. After fighting with Marriott corporate about getting an actual refund, I reached out to the hotel directly. After a quick conversation with Shannon and her getting in touch with her GM, this nightmare appears to finally be resolved. They also let me know they had a pest guy out there immediately after my stay, and found no evidence of a bedbug infestation. The one i had was a fluke, I guess. She was very polite and undertsanding and appreciative of my previous business at the hotel. I would give them another chance. Maybe not super soon, but they made this right, which is a lot more than I can say for Marriott corporate ( thats a whole other review). Thank you for making this right and taking into account my previous business with yall. I have updated my stars from one to three based on the quick attention I received from the hotel staff. read more

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel! For starters the staff was phenomenal! I had a minor issue with my first room. Maintenance came quickly and when they couldn't fix the problem the transition to a new room was quick and painless! The rooms were clean and I loved having the kitchen option! My husband and I were so impressed by this hotel! Our stay was as good, if not better, as it has been at hotels costing 3-4X this much. We arrived late, around 11 p.m., after a long day of driving across the state and dancing all night at a friend's wedding nearby. Check-in was quick, and we were in our room within five minutes. The two gentlemen at the front desk were very nice and helpful, giving us their names and telling us to call if we needed anything. The room was very large, clean and well appointed. All the furnishings looked brand new or close to it. The kitchen included a full-size fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, dual-burner electric range, large sink and dishwasher. In the cabinets we found a few pots/pans and several cooking utensils; silverware, dishes and mugs for 4 or 5 people; and plenty of dish soap. There was a nice breakfast bar/island with two bar stools for dining, where the coffee accouterments were located (as well as a bag of microwave popcorn!). We didn't do any cooking during our stay but it looked like the kitchen was stocked with everything you would need for a quick meal. The king bed was great for both me and my husband, not too soft and not too firm, and had plenty of pillows and soft linens. We liked the way you could turn the TV to face either the "living room" or the "bedroom." The bathroom was Jack-and-Jill-style, so the sink was located outside and the toilet & tub/shower combo were in a separate room. The bathroom was stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries, including hand and body soap, and Paul Mitchell (Awapuhi!!!) shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, as well as a hairdryer. Across from the bathroom sink was a large closet with full-sized mirror (and good lighting!) where I was able to sit on the floor and put on my makeup while watching TV (one of my favorite ways to get ready for the day). We didn't use the sofa bed, but our friends who were also staying at the hotel claimed it was very comfortable as far as pull-out couches go, and said that their room still felt spacious even with 4 people sleeping in it. Breakfast was really good, much better than the typical continental breakfasts you get at most less expensive hotels. In fact, my husband and I had planned to go out for breakfast until we took a peek at the selection, which made us change our minds. There was a waffle bar, oatmeal station with plenty of fixins' (brown sugar, cinnamon, craisins, blueberries, and nuts), assorted fruits and yogurts, pastries and breads (with butter, jellies, peanut butter, cream cheese, etc.), as well as a juice and coffee bar. The hot buffet section included scrambled eggs, sausage patties and breakfast potatoes, among other items, which were very fresh and looked as if they are replenished frequently throughout the morning. Again, very impressed. The fitness center looked nice and the machines appeared to be new, though we didn't use them (hey, we are on vacation!) The only possible negative about this hotel is that it did not have a hot tub. Other than that, the pool and surrounding lounge area was very clean and relaxing. The pool did have a "whirlpool" feature, which we found out was just a couple of jets, but we would have really loved a hot tub, though its absence didn't detract from our stay. Anyway, if we are in the Temple area again we will absolutely stay at this hotel! read more

I have stayed here three or four times now, and I love it - every time. I'm not sure if every room is a suite, but every room we have ever stayed in has a full kitchen. Not only does it have a full kitchen, each kitchen comes with every kitchen tool you may need, as well as a dishwasher and garbage disposal. I have made us full dinners while away and that RULES. Ladies, they have Paul Mitchell shampoo & conditioner - this doesn't really matter all too much, but it is a plus for me and probably even more so for other women. When I'm staying here I know I don't have to bring anything other than clothing & my computer, they have more than what I want or need. The beds are really comfortable and everything is always clean. It's never been too loud and no one has ever been rude or inattentive. I have no clue about other hotels in the area, because this one is way too good to try anything else! read more

stay here every time I head to central Texas for work. It's close to 35, gas, the retail outlet which has the BJ's Brewhouse, Chipotle, Five Guys, Subway, etc are right around the corner, and they have a complimentary breakfast and dinner. It's a quiet location and the rooms are sizeable: they include a fridge, utensils, and work area for your laptop, iPad. etc. There's also a little 24/7 snack shop in the lobby along with a work station with a printer and two computers. The staff is great and very accomodating. All around; it's perfect for a night's stay in Temple. Plus, for all road warriors out there, they've got a fitness room for a quick workout. read more

Very good room! My boyfriend and I booked this room a week before the Baylor game. Short notice required us to book outside of Waco. It was a reasonable price and it's right off the freeway. We got to check in early at 12, via the app, which was great because were coming from San Antonio. The front entrance is clean and there's a mini store with snacks and frozen items. Halls were clean and no loud people running the halls and no trash or weird smells. The room was way better than we could have hoped for at $118 a night on a Saturday. There was a long couch, a small kitchen with two burner stove, pans, a sink, a full fridge and there was even a pitcher in the fridge. They had a small table with two chairs, coffee maker, king size bed and a tv that swivels so you can turn it around and watch from bed. The shower was normal size but that's fine. Plenty of lighting in the bathroom and the linen closet had mirrors so if more than one person needed to do their makeup. I will definitely be staying here again. read more

Stayed here with family for my big brother's wedding. The room was big and very clean. Good towels and sheets. The water pressure and hot water did not disappoint. The front desk was polite even though they weren't too diligent about making sure my Aunt was my aunt when she got a key to my room... all they asked was my name and room number. I would have liked more steps to make sure she was supposed to be getting a key to my room. Breakfast was adequate. They had a beautiful display welcoming the wedding guests which I loved and appreciated. Overall, great hotel. read more

The room was dirty and moldy with a damp smell. The faucets moved from the wall with no water pressure. The water faucet had soap scum and hard water so that the water was spraying everywhere but down. The grout in the shower was moldy and black. I called down to discuss the room and getting the shower fixed and possibly changing rooms. I was asked when I had checked in and told that they would not be able to fix the shower for several days but that she would put in the ticket. She said that she did not think that there was an option to move me. The tv remote looked like it had never been cleaned. It had crusted on food and dust. There was visible debris and food crumbs throughout the room. The couch and floor were soiled and stained. There was water damage to the ceiling. The gym was full of crickets dead and alive. There was even a dead cricket stuck in the window of the scale. The gym equipment was dirty. This room was not the quality that I would expect from Marriott . Or any hotel. I am very disappointed with this stay as I always stay with Marriott and am a rewards member. They really should have moved me rooms, fixed the problems, and the lady I called down to should have offered some understanding and solution. I wish I had taken more photos. read more

Very nice rooms. Breakfast was awesome. Only downside was the tree limbs scratching the windows all night long. Didn't get any sleep which made staying awake at work near impossible. I asked the front desk about checking out a fan to drown out the scratching and they didn't have any. They said that they already put in a request to trim the trees. read more

I got tired of fixing the toilet in my first room so I switched. The second room had crawling insects I couldn't identify. That was the last straw so I checked out. I barely got an apology and still charged full price for room and no offerings of points for inconvenience. read more

Very poor customer service. Called to cancel reservation 36 hrs in advance due to factors not under my control (Army loves to change shit last minute). Lady was extremely friendly and made it sound as though I would be getting a refund but 3 days later I was charged full price. Called to inquire and was just repeatedly told how on the website it states 48hrs notice is required, that's great and everything but she never mentioned anything in regards to that over the phone. Is charging me full price for a room when I guarantee they weren't fully booked really worth loosing a customer for life? Guess it is to them. read more

The Temple Residence Inn was definitely worth staying in. Our room was clean, comfortable, stylish, and had great amenities. The bathroom area was totally functional and the kitchen offers such convenience and comfort. Breakfast buffet in the morning was fantastic and the staff seemed polite and interested in their work. There is much more that this place offers. We would certainly stay here again because we were not disappointed with anything. read more

My husband and I stayed here for one night in April 2015, just wanted a night out away from home and kids and well you know. I wish I'd would've just stayed home!!!! It was hardest bed I've ever slept in!!! We went to sleep at midnight and I think we slept about 2 hrs all night long, and not for a good/fun reason, if you catch my drift!! We could barely walk when we finally couldn't take it anymore and got up at 4:15 am. Around 3am we tried putting the mattress from the pull out sofa on the bed, that didn't help at all!!! I think we would've been more comfortable if we'd slept on the cement by the pool. The room was nice and clean, and it had everything you need for a short or extended stay, but none of that really matters if you can't get a good night's sleep! We complained to the front desk around 2:30am and asked for a different room but she said the hotel was remodeled a couple months ago and that all the rooms and beds were the same. My advice is don't stay here, unless you like a bed like a concrete slab!! I'm writing this sitting in my car in the hotel parking lot at 7 am. I came out here around 5:45 am, it's a good thing to, cuz I actually got an hours sleep laid back in the driver's seat. Don't waste your money! read more

We got in about 10 with a check-in online. Not realizing my card had expired on my rewards account, I told the clerk my name. She states no you didn't check in online, your card was "DECLINED" with a rude tone. When we went in our room, the bathroom light was burnt out and the pullout couch had food in bed itself. We was forced to use light on cell and we cleaned edso our kids could get sleep. Next morning I explain to front desk. She was cordial. Said they would fix the issue. We returned to our room about 6 pm that even the light was fixed the bedding was not. I called downstairs they place fresh sheets on the pull out. However, the food was in mattress. That was not resolved. In addition, they have an infestation of red ants. Next morning I again spoke to same Clerk. She told General Manager is what we were told. I wouldn't recommend this hotel that understands the real quality of a Marriott rewards Member. I have never been treated as such. read more
