We got off to a bad start…read more I have recently gone vegan...which is not easy. I am not doing it to be difficult, I am doing it because I am an animal lover and I care about our planet. Two weeks ago, I stayed at this hotel with my three best friends. Before booking, I asked if their Découverte gastronomique package (which includes three course dinner and brunch for two days) could accommodate vegans. They said yes, no problem for vegan menu. I asked twice once while booking and then again days before our trip. On the first night I was served a nice tofu noodle dinner which was actually quite good. The only thing they could make for a starter was a salad but it was a sophisticated one. The dessert was a cup of fruit...which isn't dessert. That's all I am going to say. Then, Saturday brunch was disaster. They didn't even have non-dairy milk for my coffee. All I could eat was the basket of toast they plopped on the table. I was pretty pissed and I let the manager know. The reason why I am giving them 4 stars is because the chef really pulled up his socks after this. Saturday night dinner was the best vegan meal I have ever had. For started, the chef made a vegetable tartare finely chopped stacked together with a refreshing and relishing green sauce. He prepared a mushroom risotto which was beyond amazing. I am talking about a variety of seemingly exotic buttery mushrooms, each one unique, cooked to perfection and delicately assembled in my bowl with the delicious arborio rice and herbs. They served chocolate cake for dessert which was pretty good too. Sunday brunch was crepes, fruit with maple syrup and it really it the spot. I hope the restaurant keeps providing delicious vegan meals to it's clients. The chef really has a knack for turning plants into heavenly meals that anyone would truly enjoy. As for the hotel itself. The room decor is a little outdated with it's blue accent paint but it was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit in the evening and the pool. There is also a beautiful place to go kayaking behind the hotel in a windy wetland where you can spot all kinds of birds.

They have kayaks, oars, and PFDs for you to use during your stay. The preserve and lake are must-sees by water. Even novice kayakers would enjoy this. The downstairs shower in the second bathroom was amazing. It was so needed on sore muscles after a long day of touring, driving, and kayaking. The spa down in the hotel offers a steam room (Hammam), whirlpool spa, sauna. All were excellent. There is also massages, body wraps, facials, and mani-pedis available on site. We didn't use the outdoor pool, but it was a salt water heated one (a big plus). The exercise room needs work-it does not have a/c and the weight equipment needs some lubrication. The restaurant La Brise was very good. Our server was so attentive and made sure my mom had a nice birthday surprise. I will give a review and rating separately for that. All in all a very reasonably-priced place to stay. I'd stay here again.

The restaurant is pretty spacious and like other reviews mentioned, is quite dimly lit. Knowing that, I asked to be seated where there was lighting (Oh the better to see you with, my dear...food) and the waiter willingly obliged. I loved the artwork in the resto by Marie-Lyse Beaudoin. The two to three separated dining areas gave the place a real intimate feel. We had the two colored soup of the day: half beet and half broccoli and oh boy was it delicious! It's kind of fun trying to take the soup without letting it mix together. Then came the smoked trout with a small side of salad. The trout was so smooth and salted just right but it was a small piece and I wanted more!! When you're in the Eastern Townships, you simply cannot NOT eat duck! I ordered the Duck Duo and I'm about to shed a tear it was flavored so nicely with maple and balsamic on half and parmentier of duck confit on the other. I gobbled it up like a hungry woman :) Other reviews said to try the lamb from the classic menu so we said what heck, bring me some lamb. That crispy coated lamb chops are so well seasoned, you'll even want to nibble it off the frenched ribs. I know I did. I'm a fan of crème brûlée so whenever I see it on the menu, my stomach tells me I gotta order it to try. This one did not disappoint. Overall, this was such a lovely, memorable experience. No matter the weather, you can count on Bromont to have snow on the slopes. They've got tons of snow blowers that pump out fake snow to start out the season and they typically get a nice amount of snow during the normal ski season. Overall impressed with how they're handling the covid situation. Also, for this hill being an hour out of Montreal, the size is great. Definitely double in size, if not slightly more than other hills up north that are equidistant. Can't wait to return to this mountain to ski, and hopefully climb in the summer!

Although the place shows a tired look, it was reasonably clean. The suite was spacious with a small kitchenette equipped with a fridge, toaster oven, coffee maker, basic cutlery and glassware. The highlight of this place, in my opinion, is the open air hot tubs which we were very fond of, especially with the freezing cold air temperature outside. There is also a non heated outside swimming pool which was unfortunately closed due to recent high wind. Inside is a swimming pool and a hot tub. Dinner at the restaurant was exquisite. Service impeccable. Best Pudding Chômeur ever. Breakfast, the next day, was well over expectations in terms of the variety ranging from pancakes on order to smoked salmon, hot dishes like beacon, sausages, potatoes and an impressive variety of other yummies too many to mention. So many desserts. A feast for the eyes. Would totally recommend this place.
