The access and classes for all the things available in this place is phenomenal. My two favorite events are the repair workshop to help mend clothing, fix fury, you name it! We also LOVE the maker fair. It's a high point of the summer for so many reasons. The past few years have added battling robots! Definitely give Roundhouse a chance, you'll be happy you did.

I have pretty much every mobile tool that exist. plumbing, electrical, auto repair, you name it I got it. But when I was younger, in middle school, I took wood shop and metal shop. I love them both and made quite a few amazing items. In high school I made a chess board, and a desk. I always wanted to go back and experiment and do some artistic as well as functional items. Well this is the place to do it. It's like having a wood shop, a metal shop, textiles, ceramics, lasers, plasma cutters, routers... And the name of the place says it all. Community maker space. when my kids were born, I bought the materials to make them some rocking horses, but did not have a large enough space to lay everything out. I have plans for Adirondack chairs, and a few others that are just wasting away because I have no space to make them. And then somebody told me about this place. They have a very affordable monthly/yearly membership. Right now they are showing $60 a month or $500They have a good process to make sure that you are safe and able to work the machines. If you need help, they have workshops and classes. Also there are quite a few experience people hanging around, with a wealth of knowledge that are very helpful. Yes I cannot wait to start my adventure.

The Neighborhood Center of the Arts is housed in what I'm guessing is an old hospital. Or a…read moresanitarium. It looks old and crazy, stale and, to use the parlance of fast food, melty. If it had teeth then they'd be about to drop off onto your head. The center has a wing on the far end (I don't know what other parts of the building are used for, but I've heard there's a glass studio). It's upstairs, and you can either take the stairs or the elevator. At the base of the stairs you'll see a series of totemic ceramics. Art lies ahead. The center is an expansive working art studio, as well as an open art gallery. The aim is to provide resources and art classes for adults with developmental disabilities. They work in many different mediums, including paint, photography, ceramics, weaving, computers, and pen and ink. Further information can be found on their website. They have a new exhibit every few months. Hours are 10am to 4pm. Until about 2pm the studio is active, with artists working, milling about, and attending classes. But visitors are free to step in and check out what's going on. Basically, this is my favorite gallery in the world. It's such a positive place, free of pretentions, and the work is great and presented well. The staff is very friendly, and the artists are nice and available to speak about their work. I (and my family) have a whole collection of art from here. Some of my favorite pieces that I own are from here. Once you walk inside, there are a few rooms walling the latest exhibition. Past that you get into the studio areas, where there is also more art to look at. Basically, every room has art on the walls. One time I was browsing some abstract religious icon paintings, and one of the artists came up to me and asked, "Hey, do you want to know what happened yesterday?" I said, "Yes." And he handed me the newspaper. Then walked off. Then I bought a piece of art -- a woodblock with an all-text Volvo advertisement printed on it, and sprawling on top of the text, in various mediums, are words and nonsense. My family and I recently invested in a huge painting, a collaborate effort by a few of the artists. It looks somewhat like a Basquiat. I highly recommend visiting the Neighborhood Center of the Arts. The artists produce amazing work, and it's very accessible, engaging, and enjoyable. The center does a wonderful job at cultivating their talents. A lot of care and hard work goes into the place, and their efforts are rightfully deserving of praise.

He was very professional and all around was the best person to work with. He made all the transitions during my wedding very smooth, worked so well with my family and officiant, and helped us figure out all the little details I never even though about. It was very comforting when our venue and photographer mentioned that they have worked with Vince previously and all had very great things to say about him. His planning process and music app was incredibly helpful and easy to follow so I could tial down my music list and reception timeline. He helped keep me on track during planning by periodically checking in with me and offering great suggestions to make the day fun. I highly recommend DJ Vince to anyone looking for an amazing dj. Before the ceremony, he worked with me to figure out the best way to make the processional go as smoothly as possible. He was able to get his equipment setup so quickly and he helped us keep on schedule through the whole night. It's the little things he did throughout the day that stands out the most likely holding the microphone for my fiance's ( now husband!) mom due to her arthritis.

He expertly handled music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He understands what it takes to run a wedding, and he proactively ensures that every detail contributes to a smooth, memorable event. Thanks to him, our guests danced all night--so many stayed late that nobody wanted to leave the reception! I would highly recommend Vince to anyone planning a wedding or special event.

I had a great experience snowshoeing at the Northstar Cross Country Center!…read more I purchased a pass for $71 (steep, but cheaper than skiing so whatever!) and road the gondola up to the center. It was easy to get there from the village and there is clear signage directing guests to the center. Plus, the gondola is scenic and fun! The staff were super friendly and helpful. They reviewed the trail map with me and gave me route recommendations based on the trail conditions following a week of heavy snow. The center is equipped with hot water and clean restrooms. I especially appreciated the Caboose Warming Hut along my route - it was such a treat enjoying a warm beverage in a snowy meadow as I took a break from snowshoeing. There were plenty of scenic trails to explore and I enjoyed the views of the lake about 3.5 miles from the center. I brought my own snowshoes and trekking poles, but they have rental gear if needed. This was a fun way to spend the day while my friends went skiing. Definitely beats waiting in the village. ;)

I have held a season pass to Northstar Ski Resort for six consecutive years; however, an experience…read moreat the resort left me feeling utterly frustrated. The conditions here seem to deteriorate with each passing year. First, the resort's mobile app is extremely unreliable. The app often indicates that certain trails have just been groomed by snowcats, yet when I actually go to ski them, I discover that several runs clearly haven't seen a groomer in days. This dissemination of false information is not only misleading but also jeopardizes skier safety and severely detracts from the overall guest experience. Furthermore, last month, the Comstock lift experienced frequent operational failures, attributable to staff handling, which clearly demonstrates an urgent need for professional staff training. Second, the management here appears to be extremely lax. During the early morning hours a time when operational efficiency should be at its absolute peak, staff members were observed sitting around chatting in plain sight, completely neglecting their duties. This lackadaisical attitude projects an image of extreme unprofessionalism to the public. Worse still, a male employee working at the ski lifts displayed a rude and highly aggressive attitude. This abysmal level of customer service is absolutely unacceptable, particularly at a ski resort that is supposed to prioritize the "guest experience" above all else. In summary, this was a deeply disappointing experience. Management must take full responsibility for the current situation and immediately implement measures to effectively enhance staff training and supervision. I hope the next ski season brings with it a completely renewed experience.
