Went with my boyfriend who raved about the fact it had a covered smoking area on a balcony - he's used to standing outside doors in Cardiff. The service was a bit slow considering we were there early evening and the place was pretty dead but once we got served, they were very friendly and we had a bit of banter. Decent music, funky (if garish, but the vinyl records on the doorways are very cool) and handy if you plan on heading to Rock City afterwards like we did. I have only been to the rescue rooms a couple of times and I must say that on both occasions I have been pleasantly suprised. There is a wide range of music on offer and the crowd seem friendly, I did not see any trouble on either of the nights. There is some very hard house music going down in one room, but in others it's more commercial. I liked the place where you could sit, chill out and chat whilst getting chips and other food from the food area. A bit different from other places in Nottingham, but you can see why this place is a popular place to end up. read more

Rescue Rooms is a live music venue and bar in Nottingham. It is an excellent small venue for up-coming bands and indie club nights. As you would expect, this is a place popular with the students but if you like live music is definately worth checking out the website for reasonably priced gigs. The drinks are what you would expect but are well priced for a centre of town venue. There is also a late night car park on nearby Talbot street and the buses stop close by. read more

The Rescue Rooms is adjacent to the Rock City complex in the centre of Nottingham. It plays host to a variety of artists in a compact, atmospheric venue. Ticket prices are usually great value for money especially if purchased in advance and it's a great place to get up-close to the act(s) on stage. Bar prices are ok and the Rescue Rooms seems to attract a varied, knowledgeable, enthusiastic crowd. Facilities are basic, but in an endearing kind of way (!) The artists that play here are usually of a high quality and I sense that it's the sort of venue that musos like playing. read more

This is one of the better gig venues in Nottingham, it's a mid sized venue attracting bands not big enough to play in the adjacent Rock City but are too big for the Bodega Social. It's a good size and while it is usually busy it doesn't get too cramped. The bar has a good selection and isn't badly priced. Next door there is a separate bar and kitchen which has a nice relaxed feel to it, you can move between the main room and the bar as much as you want during the gig. There are also table outside in the courtyard so that you can sit out on a nice day. read more

This popular student haunt used to be a sports bar years back, and has now taken over as the indie cool of Nottingham. The Rescue Rooms boasts a large downstairs bar, a main dance floor, and an upstairs bar/dancefloor. Go on the weekends before 10pm and it's free entry, but expect it to be heaving before they open up the dancefloors. During the week, it's a much quieter affair with seats a plenty and great decor. The music is indie/dance based with rotational nights in the small room upstairs. You can catch some of the most exciting live acts in the main room most nights of the week, so keep an eye out as your favourite may have played there and you'll never have known. read more

Rescue rooms has seemingly gone a bit downhill over the last few years, in my opinion. When i first arrived in Nottingham about 5 years ago, it was a really exciting, lively place to be where you could see really great bands on a regular basis and it had quite a nice spirit about it. These days it seems a bit neglected and grimy, especially on a saturday. Although it still puts on live gigs, the range of music does not seem to be as varied. read more

saw , mudhoney here which dont get much cooler than that. great venue, was packed to full though was hard to see to much, but that was cuz everyone was there to see those legends. read more
