I thought that perhaps the instructor was just cutting it close and would open up at 9am. While waiting in my car, I checked to make sure I had the correct date, time, and address. I did. A little weird that Elite Firearms would direct me to Spartan Defense as the location for their course. It would appear they use the same instructor. Regardless, no one came. The store didn't open. And no one contacted me to tell me the class was cancelled or moved. I called Elite Firearms, but got no answer. I even drove to Elite Firearms to see if maybe the class was at their location and my email just had an erroneous address. But Elite Firearms was closed too. The owner called me later that day to apologize and offer a refund and free class. I still haven't gotten the refund (or an email with proof of refund issued), but it's only been a day. Will update if I get it. Regardless, this doesn't seem like a reliable business, so I'll have to go elsewhere. I'm a shift worker with a rotating schedule, so it's tough to line up classes, events, etc. I can't afford to adjust my calendar and sleep schedule and then have the class fall through with no notice.

Even very experienced shooters will get some points from this class and become better. I have been an instructor and have received professional training for almost 20 years. Dave and Rob are among the best trainers I have ever seen. They take time to identify specific ways they can coach and help each student, and then present information and coaching in an encouraging, supportive way. They create a fun, productive training environment which encourages people to try new things and see what works for them. They are very respectful, use good natured humor and will definitely take you from wherever you are and help you get better. That is the hallmark of excellent instructors! Take this class. We live in Denver but happily make the drive down south towards Colorado Springs for his classes. They are engaging, practical, and we spend more time shooting than talking. Among the things we appreciated most was that he does not force "the one and only way to do X". Having done other training classes, Robert will show you what he recommends and why. If you find it doesn't work for you, no problem (as long as it's safe). For those looking at his course, know that you are moving, shooting, running drills. You work through scenarios and build up your skill sets from a single task to multiple tasks with heavy distractions. This is not the training where you stand in a line and fire. We did all of his classes except intro to Carbine. We even splurged for the precision Rifle and Advanced pistol classes that weren't part of our membership level. The three of us loved the classes and very much enjoyed working with Robert. I would very much suggest that anyone thinking of taking this class does so. To that end, we signed right up for that VIP program and thought it was more than worth the spend.

Robert is an excellent instructor. He's very good at focusing in on a problem and showing me how to correct it. He's very good at explaining why it's important to do it "this" way, and why it's better than doing it "that" way. In the time I've been taking classes with Robert my shooting speed and accuracy have increased. My hair has grown thicker, I've become more attractive to the opposite sex, I've received 5 promotions at work, and my Johnson has grown 10 inches. Okay. I made some of those up. But my shooting has improved significantly. An issue that Robert takes very seriously is safety. I've sat in classes where I was flagged by instructors. That's never cool. Robert harbors a super safe environment. I've never been uncomfortable in one of his classes. He starts every range session by reviewing his safety policy and emergency protocol. Robert is an excellent instructor and KTG is an excellent organization. I cannot recommend him or it enough!

My shoulders struggled to fit into the sides of the bay and hope you guys will from now on specify you don't want people shooting in the middle of the bay. The range was extremely clean and well kept. They even have a voice activated thrower at the stations for trap. I also tried a round of skeet, and again, the lady working there was helpful and explained how it worked. I HIGHLY recommend this range to anyone who is looking for a nice place to shoot trap.
