Excellent time out at the range, ammo was cheap and the HK P30L I shot was outstanding. We had a great conversation and guidance from one of the range leaders, Kevin.

The staff is conscientious and professional, and you can tell safety is their highest priority from the moment you walk in. Their training programs are outstanding, and the instructors are some of the best I've worked with -- knowledgeable, patient, and excellent at breaking down skills in a way that builds real confidence. Whether you're brand new or experienced, the quality of instruction here is exceptional. Overall, Magnum offers a superior training experience in one of the safest and best-run facilities around. Highly recommend!

I cannot express to you how helpful, patient and amazing Megan (Meghan-I'm a jerk for not knowing…read morehow to spell her name) is. I am a new member of Magnum and she went above and beyond out of her way to make sure I knew everything I needed to know about not just my membership but all of the offerings at Magnum. She even taught me how to use my new speed loader. I cannot even begin to express what an asset she is to the company. The range is also very nice and safety is top priority. Every member of the staff has been welcoming and ever so kind to show me around and make sure I feel welcome and valued. I highly recommend Magnum and look forward to my visit every single time I go.

However it is still a gun club, at the same location which includes gun/ammo/accessories and gear sales (and FFL transfers). The indoor range equipment worked, there's functional restrooms and friendly staff. I've dealt with a few of the staff and cannot remember the first contact name I had, however most recently I dealt with Bill and he's a pretty good guy. He assisted with a gun buy, and one of the high points is that he's knowledgeable with experience as well; but it's nice that you can speak strictly business with him or get off on a random subject, if you're so inclined. Like speaking to an old friend, uncle or mentor.

Even the pistol course did not follow COVID-19 mandates. When I called to cancel my membership I was told by Bill (no mask) that he and his wife had contracted COVID-19 and could no longer get it. He also could drive across town to the west range to cancel my membership because they did wear masks. I did go to the west range and that was true their employees were wearing face coverings, however 2 of their customers were wearing them on their chins.------they teach and preach gun safety but don't believe in science!!!! They did not refund my money so they don't believe in honesty and fairness with their customers------STAY AWAY----DANGEROUS BUSINESS

It's true, the site is very beautiful and well maintained. However, each visit since my first has become increasingly problematic. Attendants at the range seemed perplexed by my desire to shoot my stock-configuration semi-automatic shotgun at the same range where other paying members were shooting their semi-automatic handguns and semi-automatic rifles. At first, they'd recommend I shot at the patterning board, but then they'd remark that they already had a large number of members at the patterning board... and then they simply stood there wringing their hands as if they had run out of excuses to deny me access to the range and hoped I would simply leave despite paying hundreds of dollars for my membership. During my last visit in the fall, attendants complained that buckshot rounds would be more destructive to their wooden A-frame targets than the wide variety of handgun and rifle ammunition used by other members. When I produced the 2 3/4in Winchester AA Lite Handicap target shells I planned to use, the range attendant looked me in the eye and asked me what kind of pellets were inside as if these shells sold at every Bass Pro Shop and Sportsman's Warehouse across the nation were somehow exotic or different than the shells used by the breech-action shotgun shooters firing at clay and skeet. The experience was so ridiculous that my father will no longer shoot at Pikes Peak, which means no other member of my family will, either. Now that December is upon us, I will not renew our membership. I'll probably explore my options at Fort Carson. I hope this review will prepare other front range shooting enthusiasts who may also be looking for an outdoor range for their shooting experiences.
