We'd been with this company for over 15 years and up until 2023 received good service. Then they started missing pickups and it just got worse and worse. At least once a month they didn't show for whatever reason. They'd apologize and say they'd send them out to get it but they never showed up. We finally gave up and cancelled service--after prepaying 3 months in advance. When I cancelled they acknowledged that they owed us a balance. We never received it. I have requested 3 times. The last email I got from them was 9 weeks ago and they said I should receive a check by mail within 6-8 weeks. In all the years we used them I'd never been late on a payment. They sure aren't in a hurry to give my money back. Bad trash service and even worse customer service. read more

AVOID THIS DISASTER TRAIN AT ALL COSTS!!! I started to switch services to them in the third week of May. Scheduled my can be delivered a week later and paid the deposit. . . the second call, made the first week into June. I was given in sorry and I would be expedited a can. -Mind you had cancelled other previous service already - by the last week of June, no can, got my first bill. I was upset. Called again. was given I'm sorry and assured I'd be expedited a new can... finally second week of July- no can. got a pay due bill notice! Now I'm livid. I called and asked for a supervisor who kept me on hold for 5 minutes just because she could. I requested cancellation and refund for my deposit and retraction from any billing since I never received services nor even my trash can!!! It was a 30 minute ordeal. I was once again ASSURED all was fine. A month later - I just got a bill for all the fees for services I never received. DO NOT waste your time with this company and the poor excuse of customer service! I don't write bad reviews but this one has done and done it! Call Queen City and they will take great care and I've been very satisfied with them! read more

They raised my rates and now they wont pickup my trash. It's Friday and my trash was supposed to be pickup. I call the office and got the Phoenix customer service who stated my are was not affected by the Holiday schedule and my trash should d be pickup as usual. The Main office has now control over their employees, the employees so what ever they like knowing the company won't do anything about it. I was then told I have a confirmed pickup on the 3rd of January. I asked how can you confirm that when you can't even confirm this weeks pickup or why they never showed. They have lost control of their people. Time to switch companies I guess. read more

Terrible service, worse billing, and incompetent customer service. Cancelled service and they continued billing and wouldn't even come pickup their cans. Billing constantly changes for no reason. read more

Was a great trash service...until they weren't. Was a customer for 5+ years and started paying $55 every three months for service. Unlike the other reviews, they never missed a pickup at my house. Then they start to nickel and dime me as a longtime customer, and within a year I was paying over $120 every three months. When I moved into my current neighborhood, I noticed everyone had another service. So I called them, and their price was $50 every three months. I made the switch to the other service then and there. That's when Republic Services showed their real colors. When I called to cancel my service, they asked why. Well, the more than double cost in a year is why. The customer service lady, while nice, said she could get me down to $70 every three months using some discount. I said the new place is still cheaper. She then said they would go back to my original $55 cost, using the "friends and family discount". Which just made me mad. So, they were saying the whole year or so I was paying $500 for trash service as a loyal customer, when I could have been paying $220 if I threatened to go to another company. Then....when she realized I wasn't going to come back, she told me I could either drop off the trash can at their location, or they would pick it up.... for a $40 fee. Annoyed I said I would drop the dang thing off on Friday. Came home Thursday and my trash can was gone. I have a fence around my front yard, and they opened my front gate and proceeded to the side of my house and took the trashcan without notice or permission when no one was home. Then imagine my surprise when I get a collection notice for the $40, and they didn't even send me a final bill I could have disputed, just straight to collections. I have disputed this with the credit bureaus and BBB, and although I have $40, it will be a cold day in hell before I ever pay them out of principle. I also appreciated the average of 3 calls a day from them blowing up my phone to pay this outstanding amount. They have been blocked and I will tell anyone that will listen that they are shady and expensive. They are clearly struggling with an exodus of customers (as i have seen a story on KY3 news about them), and they have no one to blame but themselves. read more

Lovely customer service representatives, unfortunately they do not live in the area and do not know what is going on with weekly trash pick ups. Likely answering my call out of state, there is little they could do anyway. The local number sends you to a call center. I've asked to speak with the local, in our area, on-site, manager. Waiting for call back. This is the fourth week in a row with delayed or no pick up. Only one day was weather delay for our route, but it didn't get picked up that week at all. Billing is still full price, no offer to adjust. It's been weeks since trash has been picked up on normal scheduled day. We call each week saying it was missed, again, and they put our name in the que for "missed pick up", which is supposed to be handled the very next day, which it has not been. We have to call again and it may or may not get picked up two days after. They want you to leave your trash out all this time so you don't miss it when they come. Funny! If it does not come by week's end and the weekend comes, then you know you'll wait until your next regularly scheduled day, the following Wednesday. This cycle keeps repeating without explanation, or notice from any form of management. We cancelled today! read more

We are a business, have used Republic Services for 17 years until today, I canceled my service! They were to pick up trash every Wednesday, in the last 3 months it has been picked up 6 times. WOULD NOT recommend!!! read more

I haven't been with them in a year where I was with them. They're OK. they were decently on time usually. But now they keep trying to charge me every month even though I'm not service with them and I've called and taken care of this three times this will be my fourth. read more

My neighbors trash has sat out for two weeks and the birds have torn into it, I canceled my service several months ago with Republic Services and will encourage others to do the same. Disgusting and unsightly mess, city should not allow this to occur in our neighborhoods! read more

I have been with Republic services for 20 years and over time the quality of their services has gone down over time: not only has the prices gone up but they will miss your trash pick up and not resolve the issues ; I have finally changed to another trash service read more

If I could give this company a number rating of less than zero, I would. I have never seen such poor customer service and flat out incompetence. They never - and I mean never - follow through on what they say they'll do. There apparently is no communication between the call center and the pick-up service - and I mean none. Zilch. Nada. Apparently whoever is answering customer service calls has no idea what the pickup schedule is because they told me the wrong day, and they don't know where to find a current calendar with pick-up dates. Two people told me they would email me a current calendar, even checking to see that they had the right email address, and neither ever did. A third person, a supervisor, told me he'd send me a calendar but then he couldn't find one. I have had this service for a few weeks and I have never seen such a confused mess with trash pick-up in my life. Not only did they tell me the wrong day for recycling pick-up, they went to the wrong address to pick it up after I called and complained about it not being picked up the first time! Then they entered this mistake into their computer as my fault, saying they couldn't pick up my recycling because I didn't put it out! I have called 6 days in a row to get an extra trash receptacle picked up that was left by the previous resident. They have yet to pick it up, even though every day I have spoken to someone who tells me they have escalated the issue and assured me it will be picked up the following day. The first time they emptied my trash they only emptied part of it. I have a huge receptacle, larger than I need, with only a few bags of trash. It would seem that emptying trash isn't a skill that has a steep learning curve, but for whatever reason only a few bags of my trash was taken, leaving a bag of dog waste to sit for another week. Twice I was told I would receive a phone call the next day from the person I spoke to the day before, and never did. The first time I was told I would receive a call to let me know if they would be picking up my recycling that day. I was assured I would get an early morning call so I would know whether to put my receptacle back out that day. I didn't get a call, but when I called again that evening, I was told I had been scheduled for a pickup that day! The second time I was told by a supervisor he would call me to make sure my extra receptacle was picked up, but he never called. It wasn't picked up either. What's the point of even answering calls if the company never follows through on what they say they'll do? It's baffling. I wonder how they're still in business. I have given this company more than another chance to get its act together. I'm changing companies. Never seen anything quite like this. They'd better not be charging me any pick-up fees for their lack of service and the receptacle left by the previous resident. read more

This is the worst trash service in the area. They skip you on pick-up day and often wait until the following week to pick-up your trash. When we quit using them, we were paid up till the end of the month and had several $8 credits for missed pick-ups. They charged us to pick-up our cart, then added their huge Fuel Recovery Fee, which pushes your monthly bill into the stratosphere. read more

they're terrible!! they haven't picked up my trash in a month! I've called repeatedly. customer service alway says that it will be picked up the next day. I finally took it to a landfill and for obvious reasons have canceled service. read more

AAA+ service drivers very helpful. Never an issue that can not be resolved.Staff easy to deal with.

Had Republic Services for years. Recently they raised prices and then service went south. Missed service for week, not picking up on correct days, decided to change companies. Called to cancel they said I would not be charged for any more service, they immediately took out the next 3 months of service. Have yet to pick up their container. Was told by several people in customer service they would pick it up, that I would not be charged, that they would send me an email, none of those things happened. Worst customer service I have seen and would not recommend to anyone. They still have not returned the money they took out of my account. Do not use them. read more

NEVER use this company. We have had trash and recycling through Republic for a dozen years. At the start it was fine. But over time they more than quadrupled our prices, far outpacing any competitors. That was enough to make us decide to switch, but on top of that, over the last six months, their service has been horrible. They fail to pick trash up on our designated day at least half the time, and they've skipped some weeks entirely. They have not picked up our recycling for over a month, despite repeated phone calls. We canceled service and will never go back. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They keep changing pickup day. Missed a pickup, I called to reschedule. Received a date, NO PICKUP. Keep using the excuse of no drivers. Cancelled service. Was given THREE different dates for pickup. NEVER picked up. Have now called AGAIN for a pickup. Same B.S. read more

They miss recycling constantly. Delayed pick up often doesn't happen. Last try this month before I drop then.

I requested new service back on September 5 at which time they promptly debited my $50 deposit from my bank account. I have had to call in 4 times since talking to Emily that day and still have no trash cans and am now being told they won't even be delivered until Sept. 28. I'm tired of wasting my time dealing with a company that can't be honest and deal in integrity. With 9 other services to choose from I will be taking my business elsewhere. They obviously don't care about their customers and would rather put people off with lies. No more! read more

Worst trash service in Springfield Mo. Customer service is non existent, hold times range from 30 mins to infinity. When you decide you're paying too much and stop service they still want to charge you to come get the container. Today I started calling customer service at 8:30am, left my number to get a call back when I was next in line TWICE, still no one has called me. It is now 1:50 pm and I've been on hold a total of 4 plus hours between numerous attempts of calling. Please don't ever use this company. read more

Horrible service! Weeks of missed pickups. I was lied to multiple times by customer service representatives. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. read more

Republic Services has raised our fees multiple times per year. Trying to get ahold of anyone to discuss issues is a nightmare, hold times are over an hour for customer service and when I tried to contact them via their website they referred me back to their phone number to take care of my issue. Auto pay simply does not work. I have had my payment info saved online for years, nothing has changed, and about every other month it emails me that my payment has declined. Plenty of money in my bank account, no problem there, but then I get charged late fees. They are the most expensive waste disposal company in the area from the calls that I've made. Definitely not worth the hassle, especially when there are so many other companies out there to choose from. read more

The trash company had recently went 4 weeks without picking up our streets trash. Takes absolutely too long reach a customer service rep. When you do speak to them, they promise you the trash will be picked up but never does. Also had them snap the internet line twice, get out of the truck, look at it, and just leave. Not there job to put it back up but would be nice for them to kick the wire out of the way, let us know hey this happened, or just have some sort of decency in that situation. Can't say anything positive about this company, other than they occasionally do their job. read more

Lately Republic Services trash services has either been picked up on a day other than the day it is scheduled due to "extreme staffing shortages." Last week the driver somehow managed to miss his truck and dumped trash on the street. He did not bother to pick up his mess. I cleaned the mess up and of course it caused my trash bin to be extra full this week. I watched on my cameras as the driver slowed and then just drove by. I'm going to help them reduce their workload and change service! read more

I would not even give them a 1 AllI can say is run as fast as you can away from this business. They will charge you even if you have stopped their services before the next bill is due and we brought our trash container back and had them sign off on it and they still sent us bills. read more

They lie. Straight to your face. It's been over 2 weeks since they picked up our trash (for the second time in 8 weeks). I have racoons, cats, and homeless people digging in my trash because they REFUSE to pick it up. It is a mess and we have nowhere else to put it. I am current on my bill and have never been late. My landlord is not happy, my neighbors who have to look at a giant pile of trash aren't happy- I am furious and horribly embarrassed. We are a family of 5 and have at least 20 bags of trash out on the curb. I wouldn't be so livid if they didn't straight lie to me nearly every day when I or my husband call. "Yes, you are on the schedule for today", "first thing tomorrow", "Should be by the end of the day today". Save yourself the embarrassment and headache. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!! If they are having staffing issues, like everyone seems to be, at least have some morals and be HONEST. I could've dealt with this from the beginning and not have my trash marinating in the heat for my poor husband to try and load up to take somewhere else. Gosh I wish I could cuss on yelp. read more

I have been a customer since 2004. Not anymore. Beginning of this year, I went 1 month without service that I paid for. Now, twice this month the driver has gone past my home without pickup. I called last week, was told it would be picked up the next day. Here it is a week later, still not picked up. I canceled my service but have to pay for the month even though I have only had 1 pick up. I will be sending a complaint to the AGs office. This is unacceptable. Not one person from this company has followed up, despite being told they would. read more

I've lost count now how many times they have not picked up entire neighborhood of trash cans. Oddly my bill hasn't gone down. Looking for new service. read more

This company continues to raise their fees every quart. Then they added an environmental/fuel fee on top of the bill. My last bill for 3 months was $94 and $25 of that was that fee. I cancelled my services 7-30-21 and they picked up the cart on 8-2-21, but they continued to bill me for the services 8-1-21 to 10-3-21. When I cancelled the services they said that the only thing I would owe was $30 for the pick up of the empty can. When I called about the bill no one can seem to help you and then they said that they would discount my bill (for services I was not receiving) and I would owe $42. They are just a money hungry company and do not care about their reputation!! My new trash service does not charge an environmental/fuel fee and for 3 month of service they charge $49. read more

We have had Republic Services since November 2021, and have never had a problem until May 2023 when service just stopped. We had ONE pickup in May, and so far we have skipped 6/5 and 6/12 pickup dates. I am on the phone every single day filing a "Schedule Pickup" and "Report Missed Pickup". Our bill is paid quarterly, so we are paid through August 2023, yet are not having our trash picked up. I have received the standard bot replies, as well as customer service replies "we escalated this complaint", yet my trash still sit at my curb waiting for a pickup that has not happened. I would have given good reviews until now, but the lack of customer service or explanation has led us to change service. We Are still waiting for Republic Services to pick up our trash, and we are going on 3 weeks of missed service. Terrible business practices. Do not recommend. read more

Getting through to them is always a challenge. Customer service Reps are always kind, however, they make promises the actual trash collector does not follow through on. We recent moved, signed up with them and over two weeks later our trash is still at the street. No one ever showed after repeated calls to be added to the "missed pickup" list. Nothing but a waste of my time during a very busy move! I ended up going with Pendergrass Trash service, who so far have been amazing! I would definitely not use Republic Trash if you're looking for quality service. read more

We set up service two months ago and have never had a garbage pick up. we have called nemerous times and we're promised days that it would be done. I now have two months of garbage in my garagein hot temperatures. We finally gave up and cancelled our service and I'm being told I have to wait two weeks to even see if the money we have pay will be refunded. if not, then I will have to call again and request further refund. I have no idea how a company can operate like this. They have max why stress of moving so much worse and I still can't be rid of them unless I want to just give up on the money I've already paid in. read more

If I could give zero I would. I was able to take a dump, find socks and shoes for my son and myself, help my kids got potty, search for car keys, and drive 30 minutes to my parents to drop my son off, answer my dad on a farming question, drive to another town to get shit done and wait until 2:30pm for an appointment and still was on hold trying to cancel my damn service. Yet here we are now, hung up cause I don't have all damn day to wait on the phone, let alone deal with this crap! So again tomorrow for the 4th day in a row try to cancel my service because I'm leaving. What does it take to cancel service! read more

I've used republic for 8 months now and they have regularly called me about "extreme staffing shortages" and pushed back my pick up day. The service is extremely over priced and an unorganized wreck. I see why they require 2 year contracts... read more

I would give negative stars if possible. For the last 2-3 months my trash is suppose to be picked up on Mondays and half the time isn't picked up till I call and make a missed pick up. It has sat out for almost 2 weeks before. This is absolutely ridiculous and it's hard to find another because I live in the country. Which is another thing my trash has been pulled out all overs the road and ditch from animals getting into it. It's a mess. Then the credit you get back for them missing almost 2 weeks is 0.40cents.... it amazes me but then if you miss single thing like a minute late on payment they sure know how to penalize people fast. Recommend NEVER hiring Republic Trash for any of trash service. read more

I honestly can not describe the disappointment I have had in dealing with this company! personally not the type to leave bad reviews but this place has definitely earned it. we moved into the battlefield area of Missouri in June. we requested and PAID for service the week before moving in. We never had anyone come to drop off garbage bins, nor have we had anyone EVER pick up our garbage. Literally sat with a months worth of garbage and received another bill for another $80 payment. I called them serval times during all this and to no avail. I canceled services and still have not been refunded, on the contrary they have called tried state the amount of $80 is owed to them for services never preformed! Literally this company is garbag! read more

Called when they missed our entire street. Said they would get it the next day. No show! No follow up! And we pay for this oh joy!!!

If I could give them a zero I would. My parents were with Republic for over 5 years and when they both passed away I canceled services. They said I owed them an early cancellation fee of 6 x the last monthly bill and a pick up fee for the dumpster. Not to mention they charge more per month than any other trash service in Springfield. No customer loyalty at all. My parents were paying over $240 per month since this company took advantage of senior citizens and increased their bill so much. Go with any other company. read more

I was a customer for at least 10 years, always paying my bill. However I moved in July and canceled my service. During the fall I got a final bill which I paid. Then later in the fall I got another bill and by November I got a letter from a collection agency. I called Republic services and was told that the error would be taken care of and that it was not necessary for me to pay any further. On January 7 I get another threatening letter from a collection agency. I cannot recommend a company who allows its loyal customers to be treated this way. Note, I got a response below saying they would look into it. Six hours later - still nothing! Note: 12 hours later, still no reply Note: Still no reply after 5 days. read more
