These POS, who don't deserve to be in business, were contacted several times in the past few days (almost a WEEK from when they were supposed to pick up recycling and trash) about collecting our recycling bin amidst missing other houses and their trash/recycling throughout our street. Whoever is in charge doesn't DESERVE to work and they sure as hell don't DESERVE to be in business. Update: I responded to Republic services email and all I got back was that service is now back in effect. When I contacted them about possible refunds or credits they did not respond! Republic Services in Fairfield, CA failed to pick up trash for an entire week due to an ongoing strike in Boston, MA, now they're refusing to offer any refund, credit, or adjustment to customers; even though service was not rendered. Based on public business listings, this branch makes an estimated $1.5 to $2 million per month in residential service only for a population of 500,000, yet they can't be bothered to credit a single missed week? That's 25% of the month's service! It's unacceptable that a company with this level of revenue thinks it's okay to charge customers for work they didn't do. We pay for consistent, reliable waste removal and when that doesn't happen, we deserve at least basic accountability. A true Ground hog Day! I have had a green garbage can in my front yard looking very trashy for six weeks. I understand I live in a more urban neighborhood, so no one really cares how our front yards look but I do pay my bill. I have called every Monday and every Wednesday to ask them to replace my trashcan. They keep checking to see if one's available tell me, yes is available but every Wednesday "oh they didn't pick it up we will just reschedule for the next following pick up day so for the last few weeks. I have had escalated to a supervisor I have talked to a supervisor. I've been living a Groundhog Day. I call every Monday to remind them to pick it up. I honestly don't even know where to start. I've tried to give Republic Services the benefit of the doubt, but they continue to disappoint. This is now the second or third time they've missed my scheduled pickup...and while an occasional miss is understandable, what's not acceptable is the lack of follow-through afterward. Each time this has happened, I've reported the missed pickup through calls and emails. I was told a truck would return the next day, yet that day came and went...with no service. I followed up daily, and each time was given the same assurance, only for nothing to happen. This isn't just a one-off issue; it's a pattern. The same exact scenario has played out before, and it's frustrating that the same communication breakdown between customer service and the drivers is still happening. As of now, my recycling has gone uncollected for a full week and it's now my normal pickup day again. One bin is full, and I've had to store overflow inside my home...which is beyond inconvenient. My recycling bin wasn't picked up on trash day. Called to have them come back. Scheduled 3 separate pick up days because they failed to come all 3 scheduled times! Finally picked up the following garbage day and of course the bin was full but they left a note saying that the bin lid had to be fully closed or it wouldn't be picked up. Then there was that whole 3 weeks of trash not being picked up because they were on strike with no refund or credit being honored. Drivers miss cans, pick up and dump then put cans directly in front of your driveway intentionally, and in general have poor attitudes. It's unfortunate that it's the only option. Customer service is friendly and helpful when called. read more

Received the bill on the due date. Paid with online banking a week before I got the bill the same amount as my last bill. Meanwhile they increased the bill by a $1.62 therefore I called Republic and asked why they don't send the bill earlier so I would have known? The lady on the phone told me that the increase was stated on the last bill which was in January. She also told me that there will be a service interruption if I don't pay the $1.62 today on the due date?? It's just ridiculous that they don't send the bill earlier or are a little more flexible. I had a half full green waste with nothing but weeds greens & accepted green waste in front of my house ready to be picked up. I even separate mine and my neighbors trash by 2 feet to help the drivers out. on my way to work I noticed a palm tree leaf in the middle of the road so I picked it up and placed it in my yard waste. it stuck out maybe 3 inches. it's not even from my tree. First the customer service team have always been professional, courteous and empathetic. The customer service team isn't local The local Republic Services branch is the direct opposite of the customer service team. Until we called the city operations manager directly there was ZERO follow up I'm writing this now after calling the customer service line for yet another skipped pick up. Every other driver including recycling, organics and anybody filling in for the regular driver has no issue picking up bins It's only this one driver who claims a tree hanging over the street prevents a bin pickup. No hi, no good morning, he simply rolled down the window and began stating "call the office." On 14 May 2024, I called about our trash being missed. I was told our trash would be picked up by COB 6PM 14May. It was not picked up. I called at 0730 on 15 May 2024 and I was told our trash would get picked up by 6PM. Our trash was not picked up on one of the 15 May 2024. We are not delinquent. We are good standing. Terrible service. The garbage truck drivers apparently have no problems whatsoever with skipping your house and not picking up your garbage for whatever reason suits them that particular day. And then when you call Republic Services to ask why they skipped your house, they will tell you something like the lid on the garbage can was not completely closed or something like that and then almost laugh at you over the phone when they happily tell you that they will not come out to pick up your garbage for another week. I tell them that they are just making their own job that much more difficult due to the fact that there will now be twice as much garbage on the curb and most of it will not be in my garbage can due to it already being full. They just don't care. They have no problem with taking my monthly payments but can't seem to do what I'm paying them to do. This past weeks garbage was supposed to be picked up on Friday. I called again on Monday and their reply was that this would be escalated, again, to the manager and that someone would call me to schedule a replacement before our normal pickup day which is Friday. They then tried to say it wasn't them because the trash cans aren't close to the mailbox. Trashy Service Trashy Attitude This company asks at the beginning of their cuisine service if you would take a survey to recommend customers -its comical because our county only gives us one option - We live in a court- limited parking- all neighbors bring trash to the middle of the court because we do not have curbs available. Recycle & green waste is mostly picked up no problem- our trash can has been "missed" several times- the driver has sat in the middle of the court honking trying to get my attention to go out & move my bins (I work from home & can not go out & bring all the neighbors cans to him regularly)- he does not say please or thank you he is obviously inconvenienced by our court & does not like his job according to his body language & facial expressions. I have called several times to report that our trash was "missed" each time I request a supervisor come visit our court & help us reach a solution to help the driver as a community - I've made suggestions such as everyone line up on one side or even on the long street outside of our court. No response- rather all I get is "its not the drivers job to get out the truck & move the bins to the truck its a courtesy" I explain we space the bins just as we are asked 2 feet apart & 2 feet away from cars & mailboxes" - customer service was not willing to help resolve this issue. I am told they would send another driver to pick up the missed bin (they never came I left my bin for a week out) My bin is missed 2 times a month I'm tired of calling every time someone does not do their job- im not paid to supervise your staff. This week the driver saw me working on the garage- got off his truck grabbed my bin threw it at his truck giving me a"look" as he climbed in his truck shook the bin & threw the can back into the middle of the street & drive away. By far the worst customer service! I have been waiting for a month for a trash bin and still nothing. I tried calling customer support only to be bounced back and forth for over an hour. Each time the departments contradicted each other by saying that I did or did not need to make a payment to activate my account. I was then promised my trash bins later that week and guess what? STILL NOTHING. I even asked for a call from a manager and wouldn't you know it, no one called me back. I agree with one of the reviews that it must be nice to have a monopoly on it bc I would definitely take my business somewhere else if I had a choice! They are completely useless!! I'm a senior with limited mobility who arranged for door service through RS administration in 2015. Somehow that info has never resulted in actual service. Most weeks zero bins are serviced, some weeks 1 bin is picked up then abandoned a block away, never to return. This has been going on for close to a decade. I call weekly and report & yell, & escalate to managers yet... this morning all bins are sitting out full, unmoved, untouched. On Thursday September 23, 2021 i Called to have my service contract terminated since I have sold my home. On Sunday 26, 2021 i will transfer the home to the new owners. I asked if I can have the trash bins picked up before the 26th. I was told the next pick up would be October 8, two weeks from today. I told them I will not own the property. I asked if I can have the trash bins picked up from my friend who lives on the next block over. I was told I could not do this and the bins have to be picked up From my old address, which is absurd since my friend lives on the next block . Then I was informed I would get charged if the bins are not out in front of the house, which I don't own. This is just stupid.
