Careless irresponsible driver inadvertently swept my full trash container off of my driveway with the trucks container pickup and ended up sweeping it off my driveway were in landed upside down in the drainage ditch with trash spilled down the ditch. Driver did get out of the truck and she made a half-hearted attempt to pull the container up out of the ditch but after two FEEBLE attempts to lift the container, she got back in her truck and drove off. I came home to to find my upside down containerwith trash spilled out into the ditch. I was able to remove a few bags from the container to lighten it up and pulled the contaner back up on the driveway. I then picked up the spilled trash. Why didn't the driver do this. It was entirely her fault (I have a security video). Driver did not leave a note and customer service did notreach out to contact me. They know my address, email, and phone number. On Wednesday, I called a spoke to JoAnn. Got a lot of lip service but trash set out in front all day. Thursday, I called customer service again and talked to Eric. Again an unconcerned attitude and was told they would try to find a way to get a pickup scheduled. Finally, on Friday afternoon (3 days later), a truck came by and picked up the trash. Never once did anyone show any evidence they cared. It was entirely their driver's fault. They should have went out of their way to minimize the impact on their customer, BUT THEY DID NOT. I did reach out to customer support. They are the ones who told me I had to pay ANOTHER $50 for a new bin. We started service with Republic Services 02/2026. Paid a deposit for a bin and was told it would be delivered the following Thursday...never showed. There was a bin in the home we got which was broken. Called after moving in asking for new bin and was told Thursday never showed. Explained it was broken and nasty. Requested again was told I had to pay another $50 for replacement. Watch your account because they will withdraw whatever amount they want at whatever time they want, and when you call to complain or ask what the charge is, it's always some made up scenario, where one customer service rep has no clue why and they other just says "that's how it is". Even after canceling, they are STILL taking money and again when I called, "fuel charge" the can was picked up TWO MONTHS AGO. The account was closed two months ago. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. On our pickup day (Monday 12/29) the driver dumped our dumpster/trash in the ditch and left it. Called customer service numerous times for pickup and was assured they would return for pickup. They never did. Fast forward to the next scheduled pickup on Friday (01/02/26), they drive right by and never dumped our trash! Called and spoke to a customer service representative and then an account manager--they said they would send them back by. We had an overflowing dumpster at this point after the holidays. They got out, collected four bags of trash sitting next to the dumpster and never emptied the dumpster! Horrible customer service provided by the driver! I have never liked the pricing with Republic because I don't typically have that much trash and only needed a once a week pick up but I still paid around $150 per quarter. I just saw that my bill has gone up to around $190 which is ridiculous! A neighbor recommended I call Essential Waste and they charge $108-ish a quarter!!! Still two times a week. When I went to cancel with Republic, they told me it be nearly $80 to pick up a trash can I already paid $50 when I started the service. I told them, it's my trash can, I paid for it. The customer service person said "you paid to lease it." Ridiculous!! I said "I'll drop it off" and she said, there isn't a place to drop it off.  DO NOT entertain this fleecing! So I wanted to share my recent experience with Republic Waste Services that way anyone who uses their services or are looking to get their services you are fully aware of what kind of company this is. I have had garbage service with them for 3 years we started out paying $90 a month and over the 3years it has now doubled in price. I had finally had enough of paying over $160 for just waste services so I called on 1/23 to inquire about when my billing period ended I was told that my new billing cycle started on 2/1 and I promptly let them know I wanted to cancel my services and they assured me it would be cancelled on 1/31. They arranged to come and pick up my can the following week. Ok so now this is where things take a turn for the worse.....I got a call last week that my balance had not been paid -past due of $160.53. I'm so confused at this point I cancelled my services so I shouldn't owe anything?!?!?!? So I call them and they give me some bullshit excuse on why I was invoiced saying I didn't call in until the 23rd and the bill was generated on the 20th but she said she would assure me I would have a 0 balance. Even thought the billing invoice date was 2/9. Which as far as I know 2/9 is after 1/20?!?!?!? Ok so I have to call and argue and fight with these idiots to clear the balance. After speaking with multiple reps and supervisors I got my balance down to 0. ZERO STARS Terrible company! We just moved and are trying to set up garbage service. On the website we confirmed that this company will service our address. We went ahead and set it up to start this week and paid the $50 on the website. When we did not receive the garbage can delivery or any follow up about garbage pick up schedule, my husband called, and was told that they actually do not service our area. So my husband asked them to refund our $50. They would not commit to refunding. Literally hemming and hawing. Ridiculous!! We went ahead and contacted the credit card company to dispute the charge and we were successful. I would not recommend this company to anyone! First off I did not chose Republic waste service, I had Town and Country and they sold their business to Republic. I have had issues with this company from the beginning but it has been set up for auto pay and figured all garbage companies will have there issues.... Until I called to have a large item pick up and they said they do not do large trash pick up in my area. They do in other areas just not mine. So am I still paying the same amount as others who do get to enjoy this service? I have one large plastic chair that is broken that I can't fit into my garbage can and they won't pick it up. Very poor service. It was our scheduled heavy trash day, and I had some old fence pickets set out in a pile on the curb for them to pick up. I gathered the pickets from my yard and got them to the curb in probably under five minutes by myself. When they came, they left the pickets on the curb and left a note that said to tie them together "so they would be easier to lift". It was two grown men on the truck. DO NOT USE THIS TRASH SERVICE!!!!!!!!! We just moved into a new-build home at the beginning of February and are already having issues starting March 15th 2023. We will be cancelling services. STORY: Wednesday is our trash day and on the 15th of March, they missed our house. Thinking there might have been some sort of delay out of their control (trying to give them the benefit of the doubt), and there was still no sign of them coming. So, Friday morning I made my initial call to the customer service department. I spoke with a woman who assured me that they would send someone back out on Monday, March 20th. However, since they were over a week past due, we had additional trash that exceeded the capacity of the bin, so I asked the woman if they would pick it up since we were missed, (even though when we moved in and had several additional boxes outside the can, they did not pick them up), and she said there would be no issue with the driver picking up the additional trash. Monday rolls around, no one comes. So, I call again. Again, I talk to someone else, express my concerns, she assured me they would come Tuesday, March 21st to pick up the trash, and again I made sure to double check about our additional trash on the side of the can, which she assured she would make note of that it needed to be picked up since we were missed. You probably know what I am going to say, but by Tuesday at 3:45pm, we still had not received services, so I called again, but this time, they didn't have to schedule any extra "exceptions" as our trash day is on Wednesday. Wednesday comes and I see the truck blow past our house so I run outside down the driveway. I watch the lady (I think) pick up the trash and knock over everything we had next to our can and start driving off. I start chasing after her, down the street, with no shoes on, but she keeps going. I called again to cancel services and talked to a man named AJ, who had absolutely no idea what he was doing so I asked to speak with a supervisor and got transferred to Shauna. She was very nice, apologetic, and told me that she would have a driver out to our house on Friday, March 24th (today), or possibly sooner and to please pick up all the trash scattered about and put it in the can. Shauna also told me that she marked in our account that the driver was going to be held accountable and is supposed to be taking photos of our house to confirm that the trash was picked up.... 2:30pm rolls around (friday, 24th) and our trash is STILL sitting outside. I called to cancel services AGAIN and was informed that they "attempted to pick up trash" on Tuesday, and the driver took a photo of it scattered about so they couldn't remove it (which was an obvious lie as Shauna didn't mark this on our account until Wednesday). As I am writing this review, someone named Janet called to tell me she was sending someone out today to pick up the trash, but I won't hold my breath. PLEASE, if you have any other options for trash removal aside from Republic Services, do yourself a favor and go with any other company! read more

I am so frustrated and I'm warning others. Don't trust them and don't ever sign up with them. They keep your payment information and charge whenever they want without warning. If you have Republic Services, beware if you try to cancel! I cancelled almost 2 weeks in advance and removed my credit card information from the website and cancelled autopay due to the ridiculous rising cost of what they're charging for trash. They've increased it every single quarter. It started out as $83 when I signed up last year and now it's up to $166 for a quarter in jut one year! When I spoke with the lady to cancel, she told me they would pick up the can and the only bill I would receive is for a $50 fee to pick up their own trash can.... okay whatever fine.. They came and got their can on May 3rd, all services were done on April 27th and everything was seemingly okay... until they chose to take out $166 out of my card for services that were cancelled far in advance on May 10th and my account shows there is no service. -- REMEMBER... all of my card information was removed from their website weeks in advance and there was no autopay!!!!!!!!!! I have been losing my mind over this and I'm really upset. They still haven't given me my refund despite them claiming it would be there in a few business days. It is now 11 days waiting as of writing this. Then they respond in an email telling me ... "Our system is showing a credit for those three months, along with the cart removal fee that will process tomorrow (May 20th). Once this processes, any remaining credit amount can be applied back to your credit card." Am I misinterpreting this? It kinda sounds like you took this giant payment for the next quarter which I told you I was not getting service for and now you're gonna give me the difference for your cart removal fee? Kinda sounds like you didn't trust I would pay that fee..... even though I've never missed a payment of anything in my life! Then I get an email that says "Your payment of -$81.57 is due on 06/09/2022." First of all, your math is wrong. you owe me $116 per your promise that the container removal fee is only $50. Also, I'm confused. Are you holding that until June 9th? Or are you sending it asap? So they took their fee and held $166 hostage for a bill that was never mine to pay for service I never wanted nor received! They dropped off the container with a large truck, picked up the trash the first Friday, next Friday no pickup. Called they said the wires are too low to get under?? How'd they pick it up or get it in here in the first place? The wires are actually higher than the ones they go under on the main road if not identical. I had Republic Services in Conroe Tx. for over a year and called to arrange for a large pick up item. They put me through to someone who confirmed that my address did have that service available and what day of the month to put it out. Item was not picked up and they denied having told me they would. I arranged service with another company who offered that service and offered to bring their trash container to them to avoid the $54 pick up fee. I was told that I couldn't do that. Someone from the company called and told me they were here to pick up a trashcan. Then they described articles on the back of my porch. I told them no one should be entering the property without permission. And also informed them that the posts were all painted purple, and in Texas that means no trespassing and you could be shot. Missed pick ups, call and try to be nice, and given they will have a truck come back or pick up the next day, never happens! They have our money, and will not give any refunds for missed services. 3 months, 4 pickups!! They are supposed to come out 2X/week. Never once has that happened! If you have availability for a different trash service, please do yourself a favor use the other service. A few 2 Pick Ups, till the next time they are in the area. After having Republic for over a year, we finally got fed up with their continual hidden fees and rate hikes. Every month we had to call to get unauthorized charges removed. Beware, they charge $50 per bin to drop off and pick up plus extra fuel charges, admin fees, and taxes. Other waste service providers in the area do not bill their customers for these charges. TERRIBLE!!!!! the call center personnel try to be helpful but the pickup center is TOTALLY unresponsive; supervisors don't seem to have a clue (I'm in the Conroe, Tx area) I pay almost $150/month and lucky to get two pickups in a row without calling (this has gone on for months) and then they change their policy w/o notification and tagged my container for a couple pieces of broken cinderblock and a drill battery. Needless to say I'm cancelling my service so now they will charge a $205 p/u fee for the container and a fuel charge On top of that. Their recording states you are a valued customer....don't believe it! Moved int a new home in the Montgomery Texas area. They were the highest priced service of the four we found. However, we needed regular bulk pickup service and they offered that for no waiting period where most other companies charged a lot more for the first three months of service and then the bulk pickup would be free. So we went with Republic. Even though they told me we could put our own can at the street, they kept tagging the can and eventually not picking up the garbage from it at all with the tag stating that it had to be a Republic Services labeled bin. When we cancelled the service after only 2 weeks, they charged us $245 including fees for picking up a can, and several other taxes and fees. Additionally, the three other companies who serve our area all provide workers to load the garbage instead of ONLY an automated truck...so if there are items which don't fit inside the bin, they don't take them. Very disappointed in what was promised versus what was delivered. Happy to have switched to anther provider. read more
