They increase fees every month. Then charge to remove cans after they rake you over the coals on bills and fees. A customer of over 10+ years should not be dealing with the ridiculous bs they have put me through. read more

This company is useless! They returned my recycle can, with only one wheel, three weeks ago and told me I had to wait for the next recycle day for it to be exchanged. Mind you, this only happens every other pick up, so I had to wait to get it done. I lug it all the way to the curb and put it out, as directed, and guess what? Yep, no exchange. I call and speak to someone named Bridget, who tells me she will escalate to an operations person, and someone will call me back. Of course, I hear nothing back. My POA also called Cherie Gill, who is the rep for our neighborhood, and they tell her it was never scheduled, then she sends the email thread to show it was. They say there's nothing that can be done until the next recycle day on 8/7. Utterly unacceptable. After reading all of these reviews, I seriously do NOT understand how they stay in business. read more

I've had such a frustrating experience with this company and their billing practices. It takes a constant monitoring of accurate billing and a phone call each time. Exorbitant charges that continually increase. The last rate increase was over 30% in one billing period. They tack on various fuel and environmental service charges. Upon cancellation they demanded $250.00 to pick up the empty residential trash cans. Read the other reviews which share similar experiences. read more

Loving Valpo but not so much Republic services and it has been very thing to do with the drivers and employees. Clearly there is no accountability from team leaders or management. These drivers will not get out of their truck to save a cats life. I mean seriously. Our condo complex is littered with any additional trash that does not fit in the one man cart they provide. Boxes and styrofoam all over the complex. These drivers should be terminated immediately. Further more, our trash hasn't been picked up in two weeks bc the trucks' size and automatic arm doesn't allow it to reach our end unit. And if I put the trash anywhere else it's blocking driveways. Calls made. Complaints filed. I don't wonder why they are garbage men in life. Not at all. read more

Terrible Service ! In the last few years they've missed a few pickups. We cancelled the service. They still charged us for absolute no trash pickup. One department doesn't know their hole in the head to another ! Started service with an agreement that there would not be an drop off or pick up container cancellation of service. Paperless billing. Now charges to remove the container. Also no authorisation given to charge us for any service. Wife made stop payment on card. The idiots charged us for that too ! I used this company for over 30 years. It was called Able Disposal when I started. Was locally owned and seemed to care about their clientele. Not so much since they became Republic. I got tired of having to call every year to lower the new rates they charged me. I found a new service and cancelled my service with Republic. After cancelling, I was still receiving late notices on my bill. As it turns out, I owe them over $200 to pick up their 3 cans. I was outraged! Crazy.... As an update, I did contact CCRM (parent company), and they were extremely helpful with my predicament. Restored my faith in big business and this company. read more

They charged us $300 more for the exact same 3 month service as our neighbor. Called and complained and they gave me a credit. Found a cheaper service with no fuel costs and changed companies starting May 1st. Republic is charging over $200 to pick up my 3 cans and did not tell me I could return to our local office for free. Called again and they will reduce that by $40. I had over $300 in credit due me for a refund. $208 from the bill for May through July and an additional $75 from the January adjustment. They only want to refund $117. only refunding the $134 pick up fee but not the taxes or fuel charges which I did not incur and adding on the pick up fees for the three cans. Don't use this company. Customer service is terrible. I had problems having my trash picked up all month. I'd have to call customer service every week to leave a complaint. One week they didn't pick it up at all. When you call to talk to them they're rude, they put you on and don't address any problems. Needless to say my complaint went to their "escalations department". They had a customer service representative call and tell me that they wouldn't keep refunding me EVEN THOUGH THEY WOULDNT PICK UP my or my neighbors trashes on time or not at all. BEST IN THE BUSINESS!! They come on the scheduled day and time without fail and even call to remind you to take your can down if you missed getting it to the curb that week. On holidays they call to let you know they won't be there until the next day. The staff and customer service are always helpful and courteous to get things done. All for a very reasonable price. I am very happy with the outcome of this situation after dealing with customer service in Phoenix.

After seeing my bill increase substantially over the past several years with Republic Services, I made the choice to check into an alternate trash removal company. I was floored when my bill reduced by more than 60%! I also learned that many of Republic's long term customers are being charged varying amounts on their bill, though the service needs are the same. Some blindly pay to the tune of $200 every billing cycle, while others pay much less. When I cancelled my service, I was told a truck would pick up my containers that week. So I placed my containers out the night before scheduled removal. No truck came. I had to call two more times requesting pickup. Each time I was told a different date delaying it by a few more days. Then, the representative tried to charge me for the extra weeks of service (that I had not used because I had a new provider) while they had been the ones delaying removal of their containers and not actually cancelling it on the original date! Yesterday, I receive a bill for more than $78 to take back their own bins ($30 for removal of a waste container, $30 for removal from of a recycling container, $16 for fuel/environmental recovery fee, plus tax. Today, I called to question why I was being charged to remove their own containers as clearly I had paid a deposit for the containers when I began as a customer with Republic years ago! Their response was , "We have to pay our employees to pick up those containers. But yes, we did charge a fee for the containers at the start of your service as well." My response, "So you get people coming AND going." Can someone explain to me how this company can so brazenly feel that it's okay to rip customers off like this? If you're thinking of using their services, don't. There are quality companies out there with honest business practices. read more

The worst company I have ever dealt with. They bought my local trash hauler and immediately started increasing the service price and adding fees with every quarterly bill. After a few years I checked the competition and discovered I was paying over twice what competitors were charging. I immediately cancelled the service and I was informed that I would receive a bill for $36.30 for them to come pick up their own recycle bin. I got a bill for $56.20 which included an 'administrative fee' and a 'fuel/environmental recovery fee'. When I called about it, I was told that everybody has an administrative fee so they could send me the bill (even though I had just paid their competitor's quarterly bill that didn't include such a fee; remember I'm paying less than half now). And I can count on one hand the number of companies I deal with that have such a fee. I was also told that the fuel/environmental recovery fee was 'like a tax'. I was incredulous and said if it was a tax, it would be listed as a tax. And then I was told that they 'have to put gas in the truck to come pick their property up. They weren't removing the fees. So, $56.20 instead of the $36.30 I was told it would be just to be done with them. A final insult after way overcharging me for years. read more

no one answers the phone ever!!!!! rediculous!! pre-recorded prompts with a million options that you have to listen to, so you follow the prompts only to be put on hold for 20 or more minutes, cause i hang up after 20 minutes!!! i am now searching for a new garbage service even thouogh your customer service is also garbage!!!!! 2 days trying to contact you people!!! read more
