They helped us to get a dumpster for doing extensive yard maintenance. The customer service agent was fantastic helping my mom

The most incompetent company I have ever dealt with. Been working with them for over a month trying to get commercial dumpster to my business. Initial call told someone would call me back. Noone did. Followed up about a week later. No record of that call. Spoke to someone and they put together incorrect agreement. Called back. They allegedly fixed. Wrong again. Called back. Another agreement. Didn't notice they had the wrong name. Called City to make the dumpster deposit. City noticed wrong name. Called back. They said fixed and could pay the deposit immediately. Called City. No record of any name change. Called the City next day, still no record. Called back and they didn't have the change in the computer. Spoke to a nice guy, Ted, at Republic and he said he sent local office a note to get to the bottom of this and call the City. Said he would keep me up to speed. We'll see. Insane. I suspect the only reason they can stay in business is because there is no alternative in Boise. If they had any competition, they would be out of business. read more

I pay way more than I use to a few years ago. All trash was inside our bin before pick up. Now I get to pick this up in 96 degree weather. It's days like this that I question why I spend so much. Thanks. read more

I called to find out what items go in the orange recycle bags. The person I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about and made no effort to find. He said # 1, 2, 4,and 5 plastic. I explained those items went into the regular recycling bin. I never did get an answer and finally had to hang up. Do we still use the orange bags? If so, what can we put in them?!!! read more

I wanted to take a moment to recognize a small but meaningful act of integrity I witnessed from a Republic Services team member. This past Friday, our trash day, I happened to be home and noticed a waste management professional walking up my driveway. At first, I was worried we had done something wrong, but then I realized he had noticed an extra lawn and leaf bag (from Home Depot) sitting near our trash and recycling bins. The bag wasn't meant to be thrown away, as it was holding potting soil but since it was placed near our bins, I can understand the confusion. Rather than just grabbing it or ignoring it, this employee actually came up the driveway to check if it was meant to be taken. That simple act really stuck with me. He didn't know I was watching, and he had no reason to double-check other than doing what's right. I didn't catch his name, but I hope this message finds him. Thank you for your integrity and professionalism, it really makes a difference! read more

I wanted to take a moment to say that this company can get bent. They've skipped picking up my recycling for 3 consecutive weeks.

My husband has called on numerous occasions and a company representative has come to our home only to look at the enormous hydraulic fluid puddles their trucks leave. I understand that sometimes vehicles have issues but this is nonstop. Why can't Republic Services of Boise maintain their vehicles so they don't leak? Last week the leak also sprayed all over our cans so we got to clean them too! I can't help but think these leaks are not in alignment with your environmental policy‍ read more

They never follow up on promises...numerous times trash can has not been fully emptied and call them and they keep telling you they will send someone out to redo...but they never do! read more

We are having a hard time for last year getting our Compost picked up. We call everytime and get the same run around it will be Monday or Tuesday. Then they tell us you can take it to the dump yourself. Why should I pay to go to the dump when we're already paying for a service. Boise City Utilities!!! Trash and recycling are always picked up. read more

***Unethical incorrect advice to only fill dumpster half full, don't waste your $432 like I did!!!*** Extremely unimpressed with Republic services and their customer service. I rented a dumpster for roof tear off and was specifically told not to fill it more than halfway with asphalt shingles. My contractor told me he'd never heard of this before and was confident he could fit all of the roof tear off in one load, but I scheduled it to be dumped mid-tear off (Delaying the job by 4 days) as I was instructed to do by Republic. We filled the rest of the dumpster with light tree branches just to fill the wasted space but would not have trimmed the trees if we'd been able to use the whole dumpster for shingles as was the plan. When the dumpster was emptied my contractor relayed to me that he'd had a conversation with the Republic driver who told him the dumpsters could be filled heaping full with concrete and still not be overweight. I sent a complaint email and was called by the supervisor "Buck" who told me I must have misunderstood the initial CS rep's detailing of "asphalt shingles" because those are much heavier than "normal shingles" and I'd know if I had them. I felt a little silly as I don't know anything about shingle types and I apologized and ended the call. I Googled asphalt shingles and learned that nearly all homes are covered in them and that is exactly what "normal shingles" are. I returned the call to Buck who was somewhat evasive and said he'd try and address the confusion between with the CS rep and the dump driver both relayed to me. I asked for the weight of my load dumped and confirmed that it was less than a third the weight it could actually hold (less than 5k lbs and it can hold 16k). I asked Buck specifically if a credit could be issued for the dump which would have been unnecessary if not for the bad information I received and he told me he would get back to me. A week later I called customer service and was told Buck would get back to me the next day. A week after that I tried to call customer service again and after waiting in the call queue for half an hour the call was disconnected. A few days after that I emailed the rep that I sent the initial complaint to and Buck finally returned my call. He was extremely condescending and told me that he'd already called and told me they were offering a credit for half of the dump fee for $109 and "I'm sorry if you don't remember it". I told him the dump fee is $432 so that is not even close to half of the cost and still unreasonable since the entire dump was unnecessary. Buck replied that because we utilized the remaining half for tree branches that Republic didn't consider themselves liable for the full wasted $432 fee. Irritated but tired of chasing this company for answers I asked what my total bill would be so that I could budget appropriately. Buck replied "I have no idea, don't you have paperwork or something? Sounds like you know more about what the charges are than I do. I guess I could call customer service...". I asked him to do so and still have not heard back from him. read more

Figured i should leave a review of my experience to try to help. Obviously only people with poor experiences will leave reviews. I had my bins picked up about two weeks ago and the compost bin fell into the truck. Driver said it would be reported to dispatch and they would get a new one out next day... they did not. I waited and waited and never got one so i decided to call and one i did it took a whole two minutes to get it figured out and get a new one scheduled to deliver. Very pleasant agent that i talked to as well. read more

Well gosh. This review is not going to move them out of the 1 star rating. Wednesday is my trash day. I put out 2 trash bins, 1 recycle bin and 1 compost bin. They did not empty the compost bin. I called Republic Thursday morning. I was told by the woman that she would put in a report and the compost bin would be emptied that day. Friday morning, I called again, as the compost was never emptied. I was told that the report had not been submitted, but it would be now and the compost would be emptied today. I told her, no problem, as long as it is picked up prior to the weekend. Monday morning. I called again, nothing had been emptied. I was told then, this time by a gentleman, that because I had called on Friday, it would be emptied today, Monday. Guess what! Not picked up today either! The closest I got to having it emptied, was Friday, late day. A trash truck actually pulled up to my house, sat, and left, without emptying the compost!! Now, I will contact those in charge, good luck, to get a refund on the non pick up of my trash!! Too bad this won't let me leave no star, or a half star........ read more

the information at this site is worthless. If you call the phone # 208-345-1265 you are reaching the main office of Republic. They want you to take the hazardous houshehold materials to some place in Meridian on Mondays and Wed. even though this site says they are open now. Clearly this site needs some attention!!!!! read more
