She asked nothing about her, what type of wedding we were having, what style, colours etc. my Mum was interested in wearing. I have never encountered such appalling service. We left feeling insulted and angry and there is no way my Mum was going to give this woman her business to buy such a special outfit for such a special day.

Next time I'm in London I will most definitely drop by to thank this lovely man in person! They pride themselves on having the best and being able to make nearly anything, and after seeing/wearing/experiencing their beautiful jewels you'll be spoiled for anything less than their handiwork. I had left my favorite Tiffany freshwater pearl drop earrings at a hotel during my last business trip, and tried in vain to find a replacement despite looking at Mikimoto, Tiffany's, and the other usual places for quality pieces. I did a visual search for the earrings I wanted and found Harrington Brookshaw had a pair that was similar, so I emailed to inquire whether or not they could customize it for me. Over the past several months, I had the pleasure of interacting via email with Andrew, a master jeweler, to design my dream pair of pearl drop earrings: with a delicate brilliant-cut diamond in a rubover setting for the earring post, anchoring the most delicate 18k white gold chain, with a gorgeous AAA+ Akoya pearl at the end. Andrew took into consideration every detail - from the material, quality, and length of the chain, to the color, lustre, quality and size of the pearls and diamonds, and helped clarify my design. I sent him photos of my Mikimoto strand and an heirloom strand of pearls from my beloved Auntie, and described the color I loved so much - the sunset pink with glimmers of gold - and Andrew matched them perfectly without having seen the actual necklaces! Pearls are notoriously difficult to photograph as photos don't do the complex shimmer of a pearl justice. This man is a genius and understands high quality pearls, and their irreplaceable beauty! He humbly passed himself off as a salesman, was so fun to interact with, and just made the whole process so creative and interesting that I think I am spoiled for life. Forget about shopping at the big name jewelers with generic pieces that anyone could buy if they had the money. If I lived in the UK I'd much rather come here and hang out with my kind jeweller friend and create pieces I'll cherish for life - they mean so much more because you had a hand in designing it. I got to enjoy the creative process working with a master jeweler who clearly knows his craft and loves it too! And he was so fair in his pricing - had I bought the generic ones from Tiffany or Mikimoto it would have cost upwards of $3,500 USD and I wouldn't have gotten exactly what I wanted. Working with Andrew I had the privilege of watching the earrings come to life, and having it made exactly as I wanted, with far superior quality pearls, and it cost about $800 USD. This was such an amazing value, not to mention the sentimental value and how special they are to me as they are truly one-of-a-kind! Andrew put so much attention and care into arranging every detail that I knew they would turn out perfectly. I have pretty high expectations in general being a picky-picky type but the final product far exceeded them, and I was truly overjoyed! From designing to coordinating shipping, everything was done with utmost care and thoughtfulness. I love honoring excellence so I'm happy to share the joy and sing the praises of this lovely jeweller who deserves some kind of award! Someone give this man a medal! Andrew has earned a customer and friend for life! If you need a special gift for someone, I recommend planning ahead and coming here to create something unique for your loved one. Don't do the generic thing. Go for a truly bespoke experience at an amazing price, and create a beautiful memory and gift that will last a lifetime. The displays are changed round frequently and there is always something to tempt me! I find Topshop to be good value for money, the clothes last longer and look better than items from comparatively priced stores. The fashion is always very up to date. If I could only ever buy clothes from one shop I would definitely pick Topshop.

Tunsgate Square is a small shopping centre off Guildford High Street and next too the old Tunsgate…read morewool market (no longer a wool market). It has a small underground car park. The centre offers a high level of class than most other places in town with high end clothes shops, jewelry and homeware. The largest shops are Heal's and The Pier. The shopping centre consists of a long inclined mall and a brightly square of which the centre of taken up by a cafe that serves great light snacks. I recommend the Orleans panini. Even though the centre can be accessed directly from the High Street (as well as Tunsgate and Castle Street) it is never overally busy. It is very clean, spacious and well lit. This is a nice place to go if you want a decent sandwich away from the crowds but it does have a large number of shops and can be expensive.
