The first thing she did was have my hormone labs including thyroid drawn. After the lab results came in, we had our first online construction. I was told in that constant that my labs showed i had hypothyroid. She prescribed me a thyroid medication and increased my estradiol patch at the same time. About two days after taking my 7am thyroid medication about 10 or 11 am I started getting severe low back hip and pe pain that lasted 5 to 6 hours and stopped. This happened every day same duration and timing. I contacted Tami Obey the owner of Tampa Bay Total Wellness and spoke to her nurse who told me the thyroid has nothing to do with sex hormones. What? I then contacted my family doctor and he looked at the lab results that Tami Obernroeckling had and the labs never showed low thyroid my labs were normal. I contacted Tami Oberbroekling and in our last consultation she basically gaslighted me and told me the pain was basically not anything to do with the thyroid medication. She even asked if I was on any hormones! She presc them to me!! Huge red flag! I ended up firing her and sent a letter saying why I was ending our return. She never apologized for putting me on a powerful thyroid medication I never needed and raising my estradiol at the same time. If I didn't listen to my body and stop the thyroid medication I could of died. I was on it in pain being gaslighted for over two weeks. Tami Oberbroekling should of ran a complete thyroid panel in which she only ran outdated tests. She never asked if I originally had any low thyroid symptoms which I didn't. It's been 40 days since stopping the thyroid medication and I'm still recovering. Most days I'm bedridden in pain. It's going to take a long time for my symptom to recalibrated. I initially went in for an IV after a night of heavy drinking with the boyz in Fall 2023 but have been on with them as a Concierge Medicine patient, plus TRT (Testosterone treatment), GLP-1s for Medical Weight-Loss, & even some Peptide Therapy options which even fixed the sciatica in my lower back & legs!!!!! That was the real kicker for me... I had been spending THOUSANDS & THOUSANDS of dollars for YEEEAARRRS seeing all different doctors, specialists, chiropractors, physical therapists, & even got so desperate I tried "energy healing" with "Reiki masters," and from 2018-2023 my back pain continued to get worse & worse & worse and not a single specialist I was seeing seemed to truly care about my outcome as long as they were getting paid to do so... After those 5 MISERABLE years, I was open to anything & was going to try cortisone shots as a last-ditch effort to avoid surgery, when my entire life changed! As I mentioned, I initially went to Pure Health & Hormone Center with a few buddies after getting back from a Bachelor Party in Puerto Rico (JFYI, also HIGHLY recommended to any soon-to-be grooms, btw. Not sure if you know this, but if you haven't had an IV before, an IV appointment can take anywhere between 30-90 minutes, depending on the size of the IV bag plus whatever they are putting in it as part of the treatment. Well, our IVs took a little under an hour & during that time, one of the business owners & an office manager, Dave, came over to chat with us to see if we were feeling better yet or if we needed anything else. As 4 hungover dudes tend to do, we unloaded all of our health ailments on Dave, thinking he'd be overburdened by the list of aches, pains, & strains we were feeling, including any chronic ailments that are there when we aren't 3 sheets to the wind, as they say. LOL!!! Wellllll, it turned out that the joke was on us, because they do so much more than IVs in that office & have so many different products & services at so many various price points that it truly felt as though they had something to help anyone & everyone depending on individual needs & individual budgets. When Dave mentioned that he overcame his sciatica using a "wolverine peptide," or something like that, called BPC-157, he immediately caught my attention & I knew I needed more than just an IV from these people... Sooo, naturally, I came back to Pure Health's office later that same week so they could draw my blood to test my health levels. OMG, MEN! Within 3 weeks of my 1st IV appointment, I was already receiving my medications to start Testosterone Replacement Therapy to fix my Low T that I didn't even know I had or was suffering from & also Peptides Therapy using the BPC-157 (I ended up getting on TB-500 & another peptide, CJC/Ipamorelin, later in 2024 but I only wanted to start with the TB-500). Not only was it a smooth, easy, & affordable process, but the team at Pure Health & Hormone really does go above & beyond to make sure their patients understand what is going on in their body/ with their health, why these things may be happening, actually TEACHING YOU how you can combat any health issues or "out of range" health marker levels naturally, & Medical/ Rx options for help correct any imbalances near-immediately!! I've never been to a doctor's office like this before & refuse to go back to one that operates in the "old school" way that medical offices are usually run... To think that my $50 per month concierge fee is literally less than my copay amount & that $50 gets me an on-call doctor like I'm freakin' Beyonce is beyond me, but I'm not going to complain about that... Not anything like you see online and not even as the business itself describes. While Mikaila was very nice there is just too many things that didn't live up to expectations. Time: the appointment booked was for 60 minute head spa plus the add on foot massage for 10 minutes. The total time of the appointment is on the screen when checking out. Prior to arriving we were told they were running 10 minutes behind. No big deal but I did not expect it to be taken out of MY time I paid for. Your lack of time management is not my problem. Ending my appointment and not even drying my hair to damp as is listed in the description so that you can get to the next person is unacceptable. When I mentioned it I was told I could sit under the heat lamp if I wanted. :-/. I booked and paid for two people and only one had their hair blow dried. We started our appointment at 12:15 and was told to get dressed at 1pm Head Spa : the last thing this was, was relaxing. Nor was it any kind of massage. They have the rain halo which is a draw for most people and only use it for maybe 30 seconds and more as a way to wash shampoo out then as an experience by leaving it there. In fact that was the theme. Turn your head to the right do something for 5 seconds. Now to the left for something else for 5 seconds. Then the middle. Your eyes are covered so you don't know what it is but it felt like different tools from Temu and switching your head back and forth until your neck hurts never staying in one spot for any amount of time. One swipe of your arm is the massage. ONE! The head is scrubbed not massaged. My "foot massage" was just her wiping my feet with a hot towel. No massage took place at all. Not even a little. I wished this was sarcasm but it's not. I'm trying to paint the picture of what I experienced and unfortunately switching up every 5 seconds to some other thing not relaxing is not an exaggeration. Meanwhile all I hear is loud bubbling in my ear the whole time instead of the relaxing music. The main theme should be MASSAGE not cleaning my hair in a rough manner. Where is the neck and arm massage? Where is the soft playing with your hair or lightly massaging your scalp with your hands for a long enough time you want to fall asleep? Where is the added foot massage? I even called ahead to explain my expectations ahead of time and confirm that is what they offer. I do not feel like I got what I paid for at all or what was describe to me. This ended up being an overpriced hair washing and not a good one. I've had a more relaxing head massage/hair wash at my hairstylist before a cut. The worst part is this was for my daughter's birthday. I would have rather spent the money giving her something else. Vibe : the location is a little sketch located in a dirty looking strip mall behind a circle K, but the inside is small and nice. They have one room with two beds for the head spa. One room for something else maybe massage or aesthetician work, and a barber chair up front when you walk in. Communication: nobody answers the phone. There is a text option which is the only way to communicate. Seems like one person manages it so it can be lagging. I can't speak for their other services but for the headspa I would go somewhere else. I hope they read this and take what I've said to heart and find a way to make it a true massage experience as well as find better ways of time management. I did reach out to Mikaila by text prior to writing this review to express how I felt and explain that I did not want to bring it up while there and ruin my daughter's birthday. But that I did want to discuss with her first so my review wasn't a surprise. I also offered to hop on a call to discuss in more detail if she would like. That was the last I heard from her. And while she expressed her struggle with her booking system and it telling me I got an extra 15 minutes for the add on, the bigger issue is the overall experience. Had my daughter not been there I would have actually stopped the service early and canceled the appointment that is how bad it was. I have only done something like that once in my entire life.
