This is a destination as well as the best bike rental service in Berlin. Don't get a shiny tourist bike when you can have a beautiful rugged machine that fits the city's vibe and works even better. Last month I rented one bike and when its rear derailleur failed I swapped it for another. No problem! The atmosphere is great, the politics are great, and the service is just the best anywhere. Take a peek into the workshop--you'll see what great mechanics they are; and the price is also the best! read more

The ONLY place I would rent from in the future. Demetrius and his staff are friendly and unassuming. The bikes are perfect for Germany: durable, functional, some might say "vintage". This is exactly what you should be riding if you want to blend-in in Berlin. This is a city where people put a lot of miles on their bikes. Dings and paint chips are signs of love. And the PRICE IS RIGHT! Four Euro a day, and you don't pay till you bring it back. (Hence the name "for four". Such a lucky find! read more

This was a great experience. Touring Berlin on a bike is the best way to see the city when the weather is good. Alex at Rent a Bike 44 made the process easy fun and affordable. They had plenty of good bikes to choose from, gave us good starting directions, and would pick us up if we got into trouble. The price was very reasonable at €4 for the day. They trusted us - no prepayment or lengthy paperwork. I highly recommend them. read more

Alex was a great guy who really wanted to make sure we had bikes that worked for both of us. My bf is 6'5" and was able to get a large bike that was tall enough for him. Being a less experienced bicyclist, Alex set me up with an easy American made bike. Seats were comfortable and the locks worked as they should. Great service for a great price! Rent your bikes from here or wish you did. read more

They rent really cheap bikes, its only 4 euros per day. Nowadays its extremely rare to find rental bikes for such price. They were very laid back folks, and their system is based on trust (you take the bike and pay when you return it). The bikes don't look so great, don't expect anything fancy, but for the price you pay you can't get any better. read more

These folks are the greatest! We rented (at an EXCELLENT rate) bikes from them four times and each time we were touched by how good-hearted everyone was, how reasonable the prices were, how sturdy the bikes were. Fabulous service and the cheapest bike rental around! While the bikes aren't great or very comfortable, you can't beat this price. This business is based on trust. You give your contact info, and pay no deposit. $4/day, a small sum that you pay when you return the bike. The owner is super friendly and polite. Perfect to explore the city a bit faster than walking while still getting a sense of the atmosphere. Great for young people on a budget! read more

They were super responsive, sending pictures and information and helping weigh pros and cons. They put the bike I was interested in on hold, and I came by to test it out. The process was seamless, and I bought the bike. They kept it a few days to check it over in the shop and make sure it was ready for me, and then I picked it up. The bike has been great, but unfortunately, after more than a year of daily use, the derailleur somehow got bent. They told me to swing by and I did. The person in the shop took a look, straightened it out, refilled my air, and I was on my way in 15 minutes. Great, straightforward service from people who know and love bikes.

Even though it is a sad moments when your bike needs to be fixed, this place will have your back.read more

Alex is een zeer vriendelijke jongen die oude fietsen repareert en ze vervolgens voor een spotprijs verhuurt: 4 euro per dag en 25 voor een hele week. Een echte idealist die uitgaat van een basis van vertrouwen: geen borg. Onze vier fietsen deden het prima, remmen licht alles. Geen extra kosten, gratis sloten. We konden de fietsen zo laat terugzetten wanneer we wilden, de sleutels konden we gewoon door de brievenbus gooien. We hebben half Berlijn kunnen doorkruisen, van Tempelhof tot Brandenburger Tor, Stasimuseum en East Gallery. Enige minpuntje zou ik zeggen is dat de winkel pas om 11 uur opengaat, dus voor een vroege starter is dat even geduld hebben, maar verder: Fantastisch Alex, hartstikke bedankt en graag tot een volgende keer! read more

I rented a bike here while visiting Berlin and rode it all over the city. This was the best way to see Berlin--it is an amazing city for biking!--and the bike I rented was a dream to ride. The cost was much cheaper than all the other rental options I checked out, and Alex, the owner, was super friendly and helpful, and fluent in English. His shop is very close to the Tempelhof park, which was great to bike around. His bikes don't have dorky advertisements like the other rental places, so you'll look like a native and bike like one too! read more

This place is amazing. The bikes are so cheap to rent ( 4euro a day), and works on a honour system, so no deposits or mucking around. Our helpful friend has perfect English and the whole process is easy. You're on your way as soon as you can decide on your lock code. My favourite part is how passionate about the bikes these guys are. We were told the story of our bikes (saved from the bin and lovingly restored), and they were referred to by their names rather than numbers (Red Flame). I would come back here again and again. read more

This place was excellent. The man I dealt with was extremely friendly and accommodating. The bike was in excellent condition and price for a monthly rental was excellent at €70. Probably the best rental experience I've ever had. If you are traveling to Berlin, you need to rent a bike. And if you are going to rent a bike, you NEED to rent it from Rent a Bike 44. read more

Cheap and easy bike rentals. The owner works on a trust system, so you don't need to pay a deposit or pay in advance, instead you pay at the end of your hire. The bikes are decent enough and for only €4 a day, it's one of the cheapest places to hire bikes in the city. The opening hours are pretty flexible too. Would definitely rent bikes from here again. read more

Came here based on the Yelp reviews and DAMN am I glad. Great shop with amazing dudes who are bike savvy, multi-lingual, and friendly above all else. Would go back in a heartbeat. The price is just 4 euro a day and the shop is only 3 minutes ride to Templehofer Feld and a solid 20 minutes to lovely Schonberg. Really, it's a perfect spot. Thanks fellas! read more

Holy Smackers. This is the best bike rental deal in Berlin for 4 Euros a day. No deposit . . no l00 questions and no fuss. The bikes vary in condition but the majority are in great shape considering there really are no hills! If there was a l0 star rating . . Rent a Bike 44 has earned it! read more

They are very friendly and cool. It takes only five minutes to get in and get out with a fully functional wonderfully running bike (and a lock). It is 4 euros a day, which you pay when you return the bike. No deposit, no credit card, nothing. A great shop, thanks! read more
