I am considering some new audio gear and thinking Pass Labs is the most likely brant. I have the XP-15 (Phonostage) in my system for 3 years now. It has performed flawlessly and is silent; the way phonostages are meant to be. I purchased the item by phone, from Mark at Reno Hi-Fi. Throughout the process, I found Mark to be a first-class gentleman, and easy to talk to. On top of that, his prices were competitive. And, I think he is a really ethical guy, in a business that's heavy on hucksters. In short, he did everything right to get me to come back. Just a short review of the conversation I had with Mark at Reno Hi-Fi. It became apparent 5 minutes or less into or conversation about Pass Lab amplifiers. After Mark quoted a price on x250.8, which I felt was fair, I had a few questions about compairing xa160.8 to the Pass Lab x250.8. At that point Mark became short with answers to any further questions that I had and went one step further to tell me, if I wanted to see the x250.8 amplifer that I would be purchasing, that I should go to Pass Labs web site to view it that Reno Hi-Fi's amp was to new for photo's???? It was really the whole feeling I got, I didn't feel important enough to deserve his business. The salesman's name was ( Mark - "mark my words" he said. Well Mark here is your review. I recently made a purchase of a piece of used equipment from Mark and was completely satisfied. First, he took time to offer "sales counseling", inquiring about my needs and goals so that there was opportunity to guide a stranger - this was great, though I was pretty confident I was on the right path. Second, the actual transaction was completely flawless and efficient. The package was set up for cross-country transit quickly, just like he promised. Thirdly, the item I purchased arrived on time and in perfect condition. I am very pleased with the quality of the original construction of it, the pristine quality of its "used" status, and above all, the wonderful music it produces.
