Beware ladies! Shady, unprofessional owner passing off synthetic, beauty supply quality hair as…read more"raw unprocessed Indian hair"! Don't trust the fake positive reviews! Here's a quick synopsis of my experience: Owner sold me partially synthetic hair that melts when you apply heat to it. He initially offered to issue me a refund and some replacement hair to make it right but then disappeared and ghosted me when I asked him for the address of his supposed "hair shop" to do the exchange. Pretty sure he doesn't actually have a storefront and just sells hair out of his sister's house in Inglewood where I picked it up! Should have taken that as a red flag and went elsewhere but I needed some hair asap for an event. Wish I had listened to my gut. KEEP READING BELOW IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN MORE DETAILS: I used to do hair (extensions specifically) so I know good hair. I usually prefer to buy unprocessed South Indian temple hair direct from Vendors in India but needed some bundles right away for some events I had coming up. I did a google search for a local vendor I could pick up from and came across LayLuxury - figured I'd take a chance and give them a try since reviews looked pretty good (must be fake reviews left by family or friends) owner claimed his hair is top quality direct from Indian temples....DEFINITELY NOT TRUE! As soon as I went to install the hair I noticed some quality concerns. The hair is much fuller towards the weft but gets very thin and scraggly towards the bottom (see pictures) and when I went to style the hair as I always do, I immediately smelled a burning plastic smell. I looked at my curling wand after curling each hair section and noticed multiple melted plastic looking hairs stuck on it that I had to wipe off on a towel between every pass. At first I hoped that maybe it was a fluke but as I kept testing more of the hair, I saw that it was the same with both sets of hair I purchased and throughout all of it. I reached out to the owner right away to let him know about the quality control issues in a very nice and understanding manner so that he could address the matter with his vendor but I was immediately met with a hostile, aggressive & unprofessional attitude. Once I sent him enough video evidence and undeniable proof that there was at least some synthetic hair mixed in with real hair in it, he finally seemed to somewhat change his tone and offered to give me a refund and replacement. I was satisfied with that resolution but when I followed up with him a couple days later on this he snapped at me very aggressively and started backpedaling on his offer to refund/replace. As an actual, real business owner myself, I can say that this is NOT good business practice and you lost what would have been a very valuable and loyal customer. Also - as a man working with a predominantly female client base, learn how to accept valid complaints or constructive feedback from your customers without getting aggressive and defensive! He was so rude and hostile over the phone that I told him I wouldn't feel comfortable meeting him at another private residence again for the exchange and would only meet him in a public shop. You acted as though you did me some huge favor by selling me terrible hair lol you didn't do me any favors, I was paying you for a product that was falsely advertised and awful quality. Love this. Here's a polished Yelp review you can post:…read more I rarely write reviews unless something is so exceptional that I genuinely feel other people need to know. That is exactly how I feel about Vicky. I am coming up on a year of working with her, and she has completely transformed my hair journey. From day one, her professionalism, communication, and deep commitment to healthy hair have stood out. She does not just style hair, she educates, she cares, and she makes sure your hair is actually thriving, not just looking good for the moment. And speaking of looking good... I have traveled to England, Jamaica, Canada, St. Lucia, and the Bahamas this past year, and I have received nonstop compliments on my hair everywhere I go. The quality of hair Vicky provides is unmatched. My sew-ins have never looked this natural in my life. Her hands are truly gifted. The installs are flawless, lightweight, and somehow get better with time. Beyond her talent, Vicky is just an incredible human being. Over this past year, she has checked in on me during some really challenging personal and family moments. When you are in her salon, she is so intentional about your comfort. She makes sure you are settled, asks if you need food, and even helps you figure out where to order from. It feels like being cared for, not just serviced. As one of her consistent clients, I also see and hear the way other clients talk about her, and the level of satisfaction is the same across the board. The excellence she delivers is not occasional, it is her standard. Her brilliance, her consistency, and her heart truly set her apart. She is hands down the best stylist I have ever worked with, and I cannot imagine trusting anyone else with my hair going forward. If you are thinking about booking, do it. Your hair will thank you.

She said she wasn't notified! Well they sure as hell notified her that my money went to her account! Not to mention I texted her days prior to say I booked for Tuesday! VWRY UNORGANIZED and UNPROFESSIONAL!! Then the install was horrible. I had 4 bundles of Raw hair at $759'.. This woman cut the hair in a million pieces and only used less than 2 bundles! Stating my hair was too fine! She should have KNOWN prior to cutting my hair that she couldn't do it! She has so many large spaces where there is ZERO hair! I told her yesterday that I wanted it out because it was so bad.. she refused! I can't get hem out w/o paying someone and the new stylist charges 600 plus 125 to take out! This woman says she refunded the deposit so she refuses to take it down! I paid her an additional 300 (which she demanded in CASH) So she expects me to pay in excess of 1025 plus hair that she RUINED! So a total of almost 1800 for a Damn weave!!! Oh I forgot she was working on someone else"s wig while I was paying her to do my hair! She also left the salon without telling me and I had to wait an additional 15 mins for her to return! FIRST TIMER BEWARE!!!…read more This was my first experience with extensions as a bleach blonde with fine hair and as a consumer and client I hope to be able to trust that the professional who's hands I've put my hair in. This is not the experience I received from Aide. One year and three sets of hair later and my hair has almost completely been destroyed and broken entirely in half due to improper procedure and placement. I'm so glad that I was approached by an ethical professional whom actually cares for the health of the hair and the satisfaction of the client. The method of extension which was "strategically chosen for my specific hair" was one that ensures damage and my faithful return so that Aide could maintain the flow of money coming from me instead of maintaining any sort of health for my hair. I was on the phone with her while my new stylist was doing my hair and she says the quoted information above as well as,"the method chosen for you requires that you come back every 4-6 weeks to avoid damage." To which my new stylish replied, "So the method chosen was to ensure that she's in your salon paying you every 4-6 weeks regardless of the effects it has on her hair?" Her only response,"you're not being very professional." So it's unprofessional to be honest with a client when it comes to your money Aide? I never would have taken you for being greedy. I had dinner prepared for your family when your grandfather died and this is how you treat me? I'm nothing but a white lady with money? Let's not forget that every time I've visited Aide for anything, the price has gone higher every single time. She was very efficient and studied exactly what it is that I politely asked for. I loved that. The salon was filled with beautiful black women working their tails off, completing unique designs and styles for their guests! I absolutely LOVED the ambiance and felt completely comfortable. Everyone was getting their hair done, while nice tunes played in the background. It felt so serene. To be taken care of, while getting a deep mint wash, conditioner, and blow dry with such late notice. Yet, I felt like I was right on time. I didn't mind that I had to stay longer because I booked it later. My advice is that you contact RVM early, get a picture of the style you want, ask for their availability, and be on time y'all!
