Our home was built in 1991 and the windows were completely rotten less than ten years later (Jeld-Wen - think they went bankrupt but may be out ther again). I searched every available window company and couldn't believe the offering that K&W offered. We chose WeatherShield mainly since it was so rare to be able to pick the wood type of the windows - no pine, the wood is just too soft. We replaced all of our windows with K&W and we love having windows the are a complete match to all or our trim. A few years later we added an addition. This time we didn't have to do research, we knew exactly where to go and the windows to use. I'm going to tell you that they are busy but when you are with Tim Lund or Doug Metz from K&W, you are all they are thinking about. My advice to anyone is don't make a decision until you have seen what K&W can offer. I think you will be much more impressed that the "one-company" window offerings. Go see all that they offer, then make the decision this is right for you. They will show you everything and even show you the competitor's products. We also purchased solid core panel doors and new hardware but the experience was the same. I hope this helps you.

I did get hooked into the quality and lifetime of the home transferable warranty. Now for the review. First of all the product. It is a quality window. Be prepared to lose some glass. They are quite a bit smaller pane-wise. Also learn to make sure they are secured and locked close to get the effective seal you want to keep out the climate and noise. It's easy to have one side or the other not actually sealed shut when you turn the locks. Check them after securing them. These windows are all they were presented to be. The screens are nothing special and I did notice one was loose enough in its frame to ripple a little in the high winds recently. The warranty should cover it and I will pursue that. These windows lift and can be pulled in to clean. Great, but the triple panes of glass are heavy! So it's not as easy as the verticals ones that you don't have to remove to clean. Next the service. Here's where i was surprised. It did take a long time to get them and that time is doubled if any of the windows are the wrong size and a new one is needed. The clear silicone sealant all around the window frame is not aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I've never seen this on a window in a house before unless it was applied to seal draft old windows. Next, to my surprise, the windows were not cleaned when they were installed. It's the equivalent of buying a dirty new car. This really puzzled me and I don't know if it was the install contractor or Hanson's that felt this was ok. There was no follow up from Hanson's on our satisfaction. Once the installers who are subcontracted left with the all the boxes checked on their forms, Hanson's was satisfied. When I asked the contractor if they were going to clean the windows before they left, the response was to put the blame on me by saying "no, but I could ask the guys to do it because I'm not doing it...". I felt like my request was out of line so I dropped it. I pencil whipped all the boxes on the form after that as well to not rock the boat any more. Lastly, the financing. This was all discussed with the sales rep -Not the actual lender- prior to choosing them. I made the mistake of not reading the contract. So I went with what the sales rep told me which was that with a hefty payment up front I'd have smaller monthly payments for the 2 year interest free loan. Not true. The lender advised me the monthly payment stays the same and paying extra does not reduce the monthly payment amount only the length of time to pay. So no smaller payments for us every month and we may as well keep the money we intended to pay up front and tack it on the end of the payment term. This can have a big impact on a monthly budget so read the contracts and beware of payment terms. Shop around folks. Read the reviews like I did. But most important, ask questions, speak up for what you want and read the documents they send you.

When the initial order of windows arrived, almost half of them had the wrong finish. When the correct windows arrived eight more weeks later, the installers had an issue with one window and ended up using hammers to break the glass pane, with no protections deployed so we had shattered glass everywhere. We reported that the new windows leaked more air that the old windows, so there was a "fix" that got installed - little foam pads - that we were told might and might not work. Avoid this outfit.

We ordered nine windows from ABC. The salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful. We spent about…read morean hour with him at our home, detailing exactly what windows we wanted, including the 3" trim we wanted around the windows as opposed to the 3" brick moulding. We showed the salesman our patio doors and the way they were trimmed and told him we wanted all nine windows to match our patio doors. He understood and said that this would not be a problem. We signed the contract and unfortunately I made the error of not reading it completely and did not notice that he had copy and pasted 3" brick moulding as the trim. This was my error in not double checking or questioning this discrepancy. But as the owner of ABC told me today the contract is "ironclad" and they would easily win in court if we challenged it and basically intimated that they would sue me if I did not agree with them. I played a recording of a meeting I had with their salesman after I had complained that the wrong windows were installed. The salesman came to my house literally with $700 cash in hand from his own pocket to pay me, as he knew he had screwed up in communicating our order with whomever was responsible for ordering the windows from the factory. I told him I did not want his money, but did want an adjustment from ABC, which they were unwilling to give me. About a week after install someone from ABC came out to see if I had any concerns. I showed him numerous areas of damage to the window frames which he had an employee pound back in with a hammer and putty knife which still did not repair the damage to the vinyl. There were also damaged screens which they still have not repaired and likely have no intention of replacing. I pointed out numerous joints which were missing adequate caulking as well. It appears that in ABC's zeal to do as many installs as possible in a week, that they cut corners and are in too much of a hurry which results in damage to the windows, interior trim and screens. I would recommend purchasing your windows from another company, but if you for some reason choose ABC make absolutely certain that the contract you sign is exactly what you ordered and do not assume the salesman has entered it correctly. Because if he doesn't, and you sign the contract you are screwed, and ownership will not hesitate to explain that to you. They're feeling is that I am just one customer among hundreds, and they can afford to screw over one once in awhile, as long as they get their $25,436.78. You'll notice that ABC Seamless will not to respond this review as they have no defense to their absolute lack of customer concern, and know that they are completely in the wrong. They will make gushing replies to the positive comments, but would rather not have to explain themselves when they provide the wrong product and blow off the customer's concerns.
