WARNING ABOUT STAR CHEVROLET…read more If you're thinking about buying a car here or letting their service department touch your vehicle--READ THIS FIRST. We bought a vehicle with the extended warranty. Less than a year and a half later, the transmission went out. We brought it back in later on due to an engine noise. They claimed it had a misfire, needed new coil packs, and that the torque converter bolts were loose. We didn't even make it five miles down the road before realizing the same original noise we brought it in for was still there. We bring it back--they suddenly say it's a "blown head gasket." The SUV never showed one sign of a blown gasket, but they tore it apart anyway and billed the warranty for major repairs. We get it back, drive less than 100 miles, and the vehicle overheats and shuts off. Tow it back--they say "oh, it was just an air bubble, nothing's wrong." Noise still there. We email the manager weekly--ignored. Lied to about getting a loaner car. A month later, the SUV leaves my wife stranded. Tow it in again. Now they claim it needs another transmission, but the warranty won't cover it this time. So let's break it down:     *    They misdiagnosed multiple times.     *    They charged the warranty for work that wasn't needed.     *    They refused to provide proof of the head gasket failure.     *    They ignored calls, emails, and questions.     *    They lied about loaners, leaving us to pay for a rental.     *    Now we're stuck with the SAME problem and a car that's worse than before. This dealership doesn't do honest repairs. They play games, run you in circles, and leave you stranded. Star Chevrolet = Star NIGHTMARE.

My first attempt to buy a new vehicle here turned into a frustrating and misleading experience…read more I inquired online about a vehicle on 8/4/25, was told it was available on 8/5/25, and set an appointment for 8/6/25. The morning of the appointment, they said it had a recall and wouldn't be ready for a week. On 8/8/25, they said it was back. I set an appointment for 8/11/25 but sent my parents on 8/9/25 to look since I was working. While at the dealership (and with me on the phone), the salesperson first said the price was firm, then claimed it had just dropped $1,500--yet it was the same price I'd seen online on 8/4. When I pointed that out, they insisted I was wrong. They also denied the recall, changed their story multiple times, and even claimed I'd been looking at another vehicle--which was not true. This left me feeling gaslighted, disrespected, and misled. My family drove over an hour for nothing. This experience does not match the values Star Chevrolet claims to stand for. I cannot recommend them.

Ray's Quick Lube - She's awesome! I like how things are shown, not pushed and phrased to me like "would you like to change this filter this time?"

Thank you again for keeping me safe on the road Ray's. I wouldn't dream of visiting any other…read moremechanic and glad you're just an hour away. I'll tow it to ya if I have to! With the service engine light on recently and knowing that after auto zone's no return of problems and Googl-ing it returned that as long as it wasn't blinking...that's all I cared about in order to drive it to you to figure it out. As mentioned, and you sold me with your trust as a female when one of your mechanics said after half a year had gone by way back when I first bought this car and I assumed surely it needed an oil change even though the mileage wasn't up yet. You guys checked everything and said I really didn't need it but when I was back in town the next month to get it done then. That's customer service. Even yesterday, he hook up to figure out what was really wrong with my car was explained and why the $35 charge for you guys to do it checks things that Autozone does not. Then like magic all the exclamation marks were shown to me. It's just a huge relief to have Ray's in my phone & on Yelp for standby in case phone kicks it.

I have taken my car to Ray's on several occasions. This last time has been the worst. Not only have…read moreI been told my car would be fixed by a certain date (which has gone and passed by at least a week), I have been treated like a second rate citizen by a certain person. The mechanics have been great, but I feel as if customer service has been thrown out the window. I should have been called and kept up to date on the progress of getting parts, and now getting the work done. I have complained to several people--names I will not share, but nothing has changed. I really like the mechanics here. They do great work and are fairly quick about it too. I just wish they were quick about work they have already started, but as of yet not finished.
