We highly recommend Erika, for three reasons: (1) Erika is very knowledgeable. She has a serious background in physical therapy and sports medicine. You can go to her for a chichi massage if you want, but she offers much more. She can help you recover from injuries, reach your athletic goals, and otherwise improve yourself. After each session, she sends you a set of stretches to help address your condition (whatever it may be), which tides you over until the next massage. I went to her with a stiff neck and plantar fasciitis, and she has helped me make great strides with both. (2) Erika is very strong and has great technique. I'm 6'3" and 220 lbs., and have super tight neck and shoulder muscles from my desk job and from weightlifting. When I first met her, I thought: "There's no way." But then she wrestled those knots in my neck and traps into submission. Even more impressive, she did something to the bottom of my foot to make my plantar fasciitis virtually go away. (3) Erika is very nice. She is kind and personable and professional. Her massage room is a quiet little sanctuary, and my wife and I both look forward to being on her table.

I've never had a better massage, not even at fancy spas at five star resorts. She has helped me with my chronic TMJ pain and I even get less headaches when I regularly get massages from her. I've gone to her for prenatal massages as well, and I credit those third trimester massages with keeping me relaxed and helping go into natural labor. Seriously, she's the best massage therapist around (and also a cool person). The location she's at now is unassuming, but it's a convenient spot and parking is easy. Don't look any further, just book with her!

Perfect for my upper body and shoulders, but too light for my lower back. b. Too deep for my upper back and just right for my lower back. Usually communication with past therapists caused them to switch between both modes. Terri, however, is one of the few therapists who has been able to discern the difference in pressure required in these two areas without me saying a word. I was especially impressed with her anatomical knowledge of the gluteal region, and how she easily found my trigger points and the tension causing my sciatica from being on my feet all day. Her technique was very soothing, relaxing and therapeutic. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I'm willing to accept that they can care for others, while still caring for me. Trust me, they know more about your body than you do, especially how it is all connnected. 6 Stars Lisa Souza,…read moreCMT, has performed her stellar massage therapy in San Francisco and also at her Sacramento studio for many years. I found Lisa through her incredible Yelp reviews listing her practice in the City of Sacramento. If any of my readers has followed my reviews of massage therapists, you will know that I am a connoisseur of the bodywork arts. I, myself, am a graduate of one of the best massage colleges in the country and worked as a highly rated, certified massage therapist [CMT] at a day spa in Sonoma County for a time. I am also a metaphysician and a human detector of fine energies manifesting in this plane of existence. What this means in actuality is that I not only value outstanding technical skills, knowledge, and experience, I place great importance on intuition, compassion through touch, and metaphysical gifts. In Lisa's own website, throughthelayers.com, she describes an aspect of her work as "multi-dimensional massage." Whether or not you understand this---you and your body will definitely feel this when you receive bodywork from Lisa. I ran across a very gifted CMT/ANMT a couple years back here in Sacramento. Like Lisa, she was eminently competent with technical skills, deep education and training, and a powerful intelligence to back up her obvious talent. However, what elevates Lisa Souza to a higher plateau is her maturity as an adult, her sensitivity and willingness to be responsible for her emotions, and her own lovely level of mental health and overall well being. Revealing these qualities might be a bit personal and I hope Lisa views my compliments as a testament to her awesomeness as an extraordinary human being . . . because she is to me. The world needs souls like Lisa to give their gifts to humankind to support us, to help us learn from life, and especially in Lisa's case, to heal us as we battle each day at a time, outside and inside our bodies. I received my sixth massage from Lisa yesterday and I can attest that she "dynamically inspired creative wellness from within" me, yet again. Thank you, Lisa Souza, CMT. I feel blessed to know you.
