I have been a patient of Dr Cotter for more than 5 years. I was referred to her by my MD, whom I highly trust, and he recommended her as the BEST surgeon in the area. Luckily I did not need a surgery, but we follow up on my condition with Dr Cotter, who is highly professional, thorough, gentle, kind and caring, so I found my OBGYN for a life! She personally called me several times with my results and answered all my questions. I have also met with Deborah Turturo, the NP at Dr Cotter's office, at least 10 times during the last years. She made all my visits to an unexpectedly pleasant experience. She is highly professional, but her uniqueness is her wonderful personality: high level of empathy,  genuine care, and patience to a patient. She is a great listener, asks the right questions, nothing is nonsense to discuss with her. She takes the time to explanations, visualizations. She diagnose well using the in-house lab, refers further to tests, ultrasounds etc, if needed, follows up. She calls in person immediately with test results, and takes the time to answer question over the phone, too. I have also best experiences with both the front staff and the office staff, they all are very kind, and professional. Finances are accurate and timely at the office. First off I would like to say that I am still completely traumatized from my visit with Dr. Cotter two days ago. I had not been to her for a Pap smear so this was my first time. Dr. Cotter starts arguing with me about everything that I had to say. After the pap before I knew it was done. She probably stuck 3 to 4 fingers up my ass without my consent, I was humiliated, and nearly gasped. When she was done she then replies all good. OB/GYN's should be doing a rectal exam. First off, my first OB that I had for years who has now retired never did a rectal exam the second OB who specializes in pregnancies never gave me a rectal exam. If that is her thing that she does being a new patient, she should have asked me first for my consent and asked if I wanted a nurse in the office. She did neither of the two. Nor did she walk me through which she was going to do and she was so rough. I wanted to cry I could go on and on why I walked out of that office feeling so violated. Dr. Cotter brings a refreshing approach to healthcare. After being unable to continue seeing her due to changes in my insurance, I reluctantly sought care elsewhere. Unfortunately, my experience at another (female!) GYN was a disaster--I left in tears after enduring a painful procedure and feeling belittled despite holding a PhD. I came running back to Dr. Cotter, who, in contrast, embodies kindness, sensitivity, and intelligence. She communicates thoroughly (with an appropriate sense of humor to relax patients), presents options without condescension, and fosters a safe environment. I am perplexed by negative remarks about her staff, as I found them to be genuinely delightful. For anyone seeking a doctor who prioritizes patient well-being and dignity, Dr. Cotter is your new GYN...believe me when I say I will never leaver her again. read more

If looking for a new OBGYN, I may suggest looking elsewhere. What an off-putting encounter. If her staff is a reflection of the professionalism in the office, I am very concerned. The receptionist was so abrupt when I asked if moving forward, my appointments can be approved by me. I received the reminder for an appointment I had not made so I was just confused. She was annoyed that I had questions and hung up on me. I called back as I was a new patient and I advised I would email Dr. Cotter directly as I felt uncomfortable at this point. She quickly advised, not to worry, she would get my email anyway and they do not care. If you are used to being treated with respect by your physician's office, this may not be a fit. I hung up in disbelief, and in tears. Thank goodness this happened, or I would have trusted with my service. read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE ITS IN YOUR BEST INTEREST. I was recommended to make an appointment with this office but I definitely didn't read the 1 star reviews before making my appointment. I didn't get a chance to meet with the doctor because of the unprofessionalism displayed by the receptionist and manger at this location. I had filled out my paperwork and done my urine sample as requested, as I walked out of the bathroom the receptionist and nurse were discussing my insurance and complaining about having to still run my sample and giggling. I waited in the lobby while they sorted everything out, another woman came up to talk to the receptionist about my co pay and insurance and not knowing how much my visit would be. The receptionist had taken all my information down and it was all in the paper work, she had asked me again if it was my first time here and I responded with "yes" immediately the other woman which I'm assuming is the manager, responded very aggressively asking if i had a problem? "Is there anything you need to say? Do you have a problem down there or is it just an annual check up" I was very taken back with how she was talking to me because all I said was "yes" to the receptionist's question. It's almost as if she was having a horrible day and taking it out all on me. From the moment I walked in the environment felt off, I had to wait about 10 mins to check in because the receptionist was no where to be found no matter how many times I kept saying "hello??" The "manager" kept giving me different information about my co pay "possibly" being around $100 then she asked for my age and made about 2 more estimates.. they also have a sign that said "starting Sept they will be a CASH ONLY clinic" "$350 per visit" this whole thing sound's crooked. The environment at this clinic was very unwelcoming and uncomfortable and the harassment I received was so unacceptable, please do yourself a favor and make an appointment somewhere else. read more

NOT LGBTQ accepting/ friendly. I was uncomfortable just being there as the whole office and all of the decor is very stereo typically, cisgender female centered. My experience aligned with my initial hesitation. As I was headed back to do vitals, I told the nurse, Amy, that I was non binary and that I used they/them pronouns. Her attitude was annoyed and the verbal response I received was, 'Well I'll try but that's just really hard for me'. First error. Later, while speaking to the doctor, (Cotter) I was asked irrelevant and inappropriate questions about transition. While answering one of these unnecessary questions I stated how frustrating it is when people don't seem to want to show effort or sincerity in using proper pronouns. I acknowledged and honored the fact that it can be difficult to always be correct when using they/them pronouns. I just ask for effort and awareness. Cotter acknowledged Amy's earlier behavior and gave me a brief and unconvincing apology. I was then immediately made to defend why it was ok for my sibling who was with me to use a specific pronoun when referring to me, yet I was asking this office to use something different? Second error, as that is absolutely none of your business. And finally as I was getting ready for the exam, Cotter and my sibling walked back to the waiting room, where Cotter proceeded to say, 'I just can't do they/ them pronouns'. When it was suggested, 'you could try', Cotter turned and walked away. Third error. The Hippocratic oath states, 'I will remember that I remain a member of society, with SPECIAL OBLIGATIONS to ALL my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm'. If for some moral or religious reason you don't "agree" with this "lifestyle choice", or perhaps you are too arrogant and ignorant to want to try and understand and educate yourself on something new to you, fine. That's on you. But as a medical doctor you took an oath to care for the well being of EVERYONE. I sincerely hope that if Cotter and staff ever have to treat a transgender or queer teen, that they behave MUCH differently. Cotter and Amy blatantly made me defend who I know I am. They didn't want to honor or respect who I told them I was. I'm confident and supported in who I am but experiences like this are psychologically exhausting. This type of behavior and attitude could be severely damaging to a queer teen who is still figuring out who they are. You're supposed to be medical professionals. Do better. As far as Cotter being a medical doctor, fine. Didn't tell me anything that any other gynecologist couldn't have told me. read more

Dr. Cotter has been my wife's gynecologist for 30 years. She has been a great doctor for her and delivered our son. I am writing this review today because my wife had a procedure done today. Dr. Cotter walked her through the entire process to try to put her mind at ease. In addition after the procedure she let me know that she came through it fine and was in recovery. Went with wifey who was scared to go alone and sat in the waiting room while she was being seen by Dr Cotter who was referred by wifey's regular OB-Gyn who doesn't do surgery anymore. Wow - great staff and great physician. Amy, the doctor's assistant, understood wifey's sometimes odd humor - very kind and comforting. Had to follow wifey into the blood draw room and Jamie, Dr Cotter's Nurse Practitioner, was literally joking and distracting skittish wifey so that she could do her job - she must have experience with children, haha. Then got the semi-good news from Dr Cotter, who is very knowledgeable, kind, and above all, realistic. It's surgery alright, but less invasive than we thought. Wifey feels she's in safe hands. !!!!!WOST OFFICE EVER!!!!!!! All the receptionist have a terrible attitude problem that needs major adjustments. They don't care about anything other then the co pay or late fee which is compleatly irreverent when someone is sick. When you go to any dr offices those people in the front have really one job and their job is to make you feel comfortable and make sure your taken care of. I'm at a loss who these uneducated , incompetent, rude people think they are to treat patients like this not to mention I wasn't new to the office. Nobody needs that sort of disrespect from the front when really your only there to see a damn dr for help. Then. That cold hearted "DOCTOR" likes to incorrectly diagnose over the phone and tell you that you have a disease to nearly make you sick and have a panic attack until you get to your scheduled appt to find out she was 100% wrong on her diagnosis. And that's just ok????! Since when can you diagnose over the phone? Didn't know that was a thing especially for a gynecologist. Listen. Stay away from this unhealthy office they never have done anything good for me. WOW...my former OBGYN doctor had just retired leaving me feeling vulnerable and uncertain as to who I will be seeing moving forward. A good friend of mine recommended Dr. Cotter and I thought I would schedule my annual with her. First off, parking was super easy and finding her suite was easy since I was told to look for the green awning. Inside was wonderful, I felt like I was in a luxurious hotel instead of a doctors office. The staff was friendly and filling out the paperwork was simple. I was brought to the back to take my vitals, I loved the nurse who was upbeat, understanding and thorough. Dr. Cotter brought me into her office, prior to the exam to go over my medical history. At 51, I should be on top of my medical history a little bit more, however, she was very patient and was able to identify the procedures and tests I had in my past based on what I was sharing with her. We went to the exam room for my annual, again very thorough. We finished by going over my next steps, post-testing and she provided me with the approval for future testing. The Office Manager "Leslie" and her staff aren't trained enough with the office rules and appointment scheduling. Leslie is rude and disrespectful towards the patient and their spouses. She points finger first and then talk as if we're her slave. The doctors availability for appointments is only between Monday-Thursday and they failed to inform me about it and also they schedule appointments wrong by mentioning doctor and once we arrive they try to redirect us to the Nurse Practitioner. The office staff is incompetent. This is my honest review for the office staff and not for the doctor as she isn't aware about all this mess. I trust the doctor and her knowledge and I'm satisfied with her treatment procedures. read more

*Misdiagnosed 2 years!* This is a late review and I've held off on writing this for many reasons. Here's a quick summary of my personal experience with this office. 1) I have great insurance and originally Dr. Cotter would see me for my yearly paps. I dont know when or why it happened, but she set me off to her Nurse Practioner at that time Eileen Walsh and I never questioned why my annual visits were with her NP. Stupidly, I assumed Eileen was another Doctor and never asked. 2) 2010, I feel a small tiny pea sized lump in my left breast. Eileen says it's nothing and it's normal and she will monitor it. I'm 30 years old. 3) 2011, I feel like the lump is getting harder. At my next annual visit, I let her know of my concerns. Eileen makes me feel like it's nothing to worry about, but for my own peace of mind, she asks if I wanted an ultrasound. After making me, feel like the boy who cried wolf, I make the request for an ultrasound. Comes in as dense breast tissue. Eileen never makes any requests for further tests. I assume the "Doctor" is the medical expert and leave it to her. 4) I go in early for my next visit in 2012. The small tiny lump feels like a golf ball and protrudes from my left breast. I show Eileen once again yet this time she gives me a look that I'll never forget then sends me off for an immediate biopsy. 5) within weeks I am now at Stage 2 breast cancer, 6-7 months of chemotherapy with bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction. I'm at the age of 32. Eileen called me once after to see how I was and in my emotional state of mind, I confirmed to her that it was cancer. DR. RENEE COTTER HERSELF NEVER CALLED ME nor do I think she even cared. I never heard from her. I picked up my medical records and had a full blown panic attack sitting in the waiting room for the forms. Fast forward, PTSD later a long with a substantial history of procedures and surgeries, I finally decided to seek legal counsel because I do believe this office misdiagnosed me and I wish we'd have caught it back in 2010. Unfortunately, the statute of limitations had passed. The reality of it is that there is no statute of limitations to what this entire ordeal has done to me, physically and mentally. Chemotherapy has done a huge number on my fertility as well. So while Dr Cotter and Eileen Walsh go about their own lives, my life is forever changed. There is no statute of limitations to the fears I have of cancer coming back, to the nightmares I still have at night or the cost of what all this has taken out of me. My future, fertility and who I am. ****be warned*** see an actual OBGYN and if this doctor passes you off to the NP and you feel something is wrong, go get a second opinion. I was just another patient in their file. Another patient who came in for her annual pap who wasn't even significant enough for the doctor to continue seeing and here I am. Scars from surgeries barely match the mental damage I've had to endure. I've tried to forgive but all I can think of is how everyone here wronged me. And this is forever. read more

Sadly, I recently had a miserable experience during my last visit with Dr. Cotter. To be straight to the point, she led me to believe I had an incurable STD for weeks and after the $696 of lab tests (not including the office visit cost) came back NEGATIVE, she never even tried to figure out how to fix the issue I came in to see her for! She also had me taking a medication that cost $60 for no reason. Not to mention the arguments with my boyfriend I've been with for over 3 years trying to figure out who was the culprit. Like many of us, I'm not earning much since my jobs closed since COVID. I asked her to help pay for my lab tests since she was so adamant that I had this disease and I needed to get blood work too, well, she shut that down quickly. Not willing to help pay one penny. I've seen numerous reviews that are similar to mine, so hopefully one more bad review will help change someone's mind if they want to go to Dr. Renee Cotter. read more

I've been going to Eileen Walsh, Dr. Cotter's Nurse Practitioner, for the past 3 years. Contrary to what another person stated previously, Eileen is not an RN she is a licensed nurse practitioner, who is licensed to prescribe Rx's and practice medicine under a doctor's supervision. I've never received anything but stellar care from this doctor's office, and Eileen is one of the most genuine & kind healthcare providers I have seen. I've personally never had any issues with billing from them, I've always paid my copay up front and have never received a bill after the fact. The reason for today's 5 star review is that while I was at my 6 month check up today, I mentioned to Eileen that I was being laid off and today was most likely the last time I'd see her until I land a new job with benefits. Eileen immediately went to her office and gave me 3 month supply of samples of my birth control and told me to call her if I have any issues with insurance, as she can provide me more samples. She really cares about her patients and that is important to me. I really hope I get a new job with health insurance soon so I can keep coming here :) read more

I have had horrific experiences at other offices and clinics, so having a comforting and personalized experience with Dr. Turturro was a breath of fresh air. I have been a patient of Dr. Cotter for many years. I have never had a negative experience with her practice and am shocked at the venom in some of the less than positive reviews. I am an advanced practice nurse, so if there were any issues with the care, I would have been out of there years ago. Dr. Cotter is kind, very caring, and takes the time to talk with you about your concerns and answers any questions. I like that she no longer delivers babies and that she is very knowledgeable about menopause, incontinence, and other women's health issues. I never felt that I was being rushed out of the office. I have found the office staff to be very nice and responsive if you call with questions or need your meds refilled. Yeah it bugs me that the office always asks about insurance first, but every MD office does this--Docs need to get paid to keep the practice running! Her practice has not been bought (yet) by the larger institutions like Cedars or UCLA. She is independent, and I like that too. read more

I have gone to many many doctors over the past 20 years trying to figure out why am I always in so much pain during my periods and have cramps throughout the entire month. It has always been dismissed or blamed on another ailment (IBS, colitis, hormone levels off or that I am just being dramatic and to suck it up). The last few years the pain had become so extreme, most of the time, I couldn't work the first two days of my cycle. I was referred to Dr Cotter by another amazing Dr. and I am so thankful for that referral. She is so kind and compassionate, listening to my symptoms and was shocked no other Dr thought to look into this. She immediately ordered an thorough ultrasound (first one since previous doctors stated this wasn't necessary) and found a whole mess going on. Within weeks I was headed in for laparoscopic surgery to remove a large cyst, fibroids and extensive endometriosis. I am 2 weeks out from my surgery and have already been back at work for over a week since my recovery process has been going so well. Thank you thank you thank you Dr. Cotter!! read more

My review is solely in regards to the wait. I went to this office for my annual check up. I waited just short of an hour to see Dr. T. It was my lunch break and I ended up away from my office for 2 hours, which is ridiculous but the bulk of the time was spent sitting in the waiting room. The Doctor was a nice lady and answered my questions. I would just warn working patients about the wait as I would not return here simply because I don't have the luxury of time to waste. read more

I saw the nurse practitioner, Deborah Turturro. She was amazing! Very nice, friendly and professional. She also knew her stuff and is really intelligent. She was able to diagnose and address my concerns, providing solutions as well as advice. She was also very open and took every concern seriously. She didn't brush anything aside, which I really appreciated. It made me feel confident and that I could trust her. I will definitely be recommending this office to my friends. As far as wait time, I spent less than 3 minutes in the waiting room before I was called back. Deborah didn't rush anything either and patiently listened to all of my concerns/questions. I highly recommend this office!! EDIT: I went back for a minor surgery being done by Dr. Cotter. She is also fantastic. She did the procedure and when I called back in with questions and concerns, they put her on the phone right away and she answered all of my questions. Sorry this is going to be a long one, but I feel others should be warned. I've been going to this office for a few years, all the while being seen by the nurse practitioner. She's fine, but after years of persistent medical issues, I finally decided to wait a month to be seen by Dr. Cotter. She seemed very nice and caring. Had a great bedside manner and made me feel at ease. We decided to move forward with one of the less invasive treatments. I was told they would get it approved by insurance and could come in in about a week. I called to set up the appointment a week later and find out they never called the insurance for approval, because I told them I wanted to wait for the new year (ummm no I didn't). After waiting about 30 minutes, Amy called me and stated it was 100% approved but I have to front $811 and then get reimbursed from the insurance. Ummm whaaaaatt?? Why?? "It's office policy." I call my insurance and they call the doctor's office with me on the other line, this time we talk to a Leslie. They get the same answer, "office policy". They demand upfront payment because insurance companies have not paid in the past. Insurance tells them, they can give a confirmation # and under law this is 100% covered. They wouldn't budge. Leslie states the doctor will not make exceptions and she has to enforce the office policy. I really wanted to stay with this doctor but obviously Dr. Cotter cares more about money than her patients. Even the insurance lady was floored by their response. Amy and Leslie were also very abrasive on the phone. None of this is a reason to be rude on the phone. Get some customer service training ladies or drink some coffee. Sheesh. Now I have to waste my time in finding another doctor that will put their patients first. read more

RUDE FRONT OFFICE - TERRIBLE ATTITUDE I hate to do this because I used to see Dr. Cotter and loved her. I've moved back to the area and need a new OBGYN....I see I'm not alone in having a complaint about the front office. The woman who greeted me (that is a generous description was Sarahdi (sp?) I showed up for an appointment I made online and I was told they didn't have a record of my appointment. She was curt, dismissive, rude and didn't offer any solution or apology. The other woman in front said something about their online systems not syncing up properly. I get it. Systems fail. Mistakes happen. But the receptionist did not even attempt to say" sorry for the inconvenience can I make you another appointment? " yeah, this system sucks let's get this taken care of" I told them I had gotten a confirmation and she acted like I was making it up. She was also rudely speaking to another person on the phone and only spoke to me when she was clearly on hold with the other person..starting and stopping our conversation and irritated that I had the audacity to be even mildly irritated that I would have to come back. I asked a few questions about the service that I needed and possible times and she seriously acted like she was annoyed by me for breathing. No thank you. I'll look for another practice. Not worth going somewhere you aren't treated with any kind of basic respect or kindness. read more

I used to be a patient of Dr. Cotter's, after 5 or 6 visits where she was CONSISTENTLY 45 late, I started seeing her colleague. Good enough. These were typical visits, just check ups. Shortly after that doctor left the practice I started seeing Eileen, the NP... She was lovely. Well, I moved 20 miles away and I am happy with a local female doctor. Fast forward 4 years, I am helping out a friend by driving her to doctors appointments. Well, wouldn't you know... nothing has changed. Dr. Cotter was 45 minutes late the first visit and 50 minutes late the second. Are you kidding me?? Can't they figure this out?? I am so frustrated but I am forced to bite my lip, after all... I am doing a friend a favor. The 2 stars reflects the running of the practice only, the care was (and according to my friend still is) outstanding. read more

She was my ob/gyn for like 5 yrs until she stopped seeing me and passed the job to her RN last year. Her RN helping her out is very nice and she seems to know what she's doing so I do like her but when I got an abnormal pap smear result last year and was recommended to undergo another test (endometrial biopsy) to make sure everything was ok, that's when I kind of doubted Dr. Cotter. So then i did go back for another test under the hands of that RN. I asked if I could talk to Dr. Cotter about my personal concerns on the biopsy and I was told that she was not around. On my way out, I saw Dr. Cotter behind her desk! I was like..ok, maybe she was just really busy....too busy i thought. Then I was given a doctor's order for my annual mammogram by the RN again. The RN signed the order! I was like...what the hell is going on? Why is this RN kept on seeing me like she's my doctor?? I was not comfortable with the situation so I called the Women's Diagnostic Center about a doctor's order signed by an RN. I was told that the doctor should really be the one who will sign the orders but an RN signature could be overlooked. It's like saying "it's ok...no big deal eventhough it's illegal". Well it is a big deal to me. It's all business to all of them but I take it personally. I still let it go though cause I was so anxious to get my second mammo. A few months later, i noticed a charge in my insurance on "pregnancy test". I was like I was never informed that I was gonna be tested for pregnancy. Dr. Cotter knew that I was taking contraceptive pills all along! She even asked me about it before I had my endometrial biopsy, plus it's all in the most recent form that I filled out in their office. I then called the office and was referred to the one who was taking care of the bills. I was told that i was tested for pregnancy to make sure i was not pregnant before they could perform the biopsy....that it was just a standard procedure. I was like why wasn't I informed then about it? couldn't answer me. So, ok...i let it go...there's no use arguing i thought. I then paid my co-pay with my insurance. I was just thinking if i knew that they needed to make sure that I wasn't pregnant, i could have bought a pregnancy test kit from a store myself....it's a lot cheaper! A few weeks later, i received a bill from Dr. Cotter's office asking me to PAY for my pregnancy test. Un-freaking-believable!!!!! I then mailed them back a copy of my insurance statement and pointed out that I have already paid for my pregnancy test together with everything else and I owe them nothing! I asked them to check their records. I was sooo pissed! Plus, neither Dr. Cotter or her RN called me to inform me of the result of my second mammogram. They used to mail me the result aside from the one given by Women's Diagnostic Center. WDC assured me that my doctor will talk to me about my second mammo result. Never heard from Dr. Cotter! Enough is enough so this year I went to see a much younger, much professional, much friendlier ob/gyn at West Hills Medical Center and her office is just above Dr. Cotter's. lol Seriously, I do not recommend Dr. Cotter to any woman needing professional advice, direct communication, and friendly assistance with an ob/gyn. Dr. Cotter is just NOT the one. She's too busy or she probably just choose which patient she wants to see. The others will be passed on to her ever faithful RN. I'm so glad I changed my doctor! P.S. So sorry, i just found out from another reviewer that Eileen Walsh is an NP, not an RN. My bad...i didn't know. My opinion about Dr. Cotter hasn't changed though. Eileen is super nice. Doctor Cotter and doctor Deborah are my two favorite doctors of all time. I've always had a wonderful experience here and I honestly look forward to going to the Gyno because of them. Everyone who works in the office is extremely helpful. Truly caring, and always answer all of my questions. I never feel rushed and I always feel respected by them. This review is on Deborah Turturro B.S.N., R.N.P After seeing the other reviews here I am even more disgusted! It is a shame how these businesses that you think are for women, don't actually work for us at all. This was my first visit to the office of Deborah Turturro. The doctor that I was trying to make an appointment with was out of town. (Got the doctors referral from west hills medical center). I was having horrible stomach pains and headaches. I was searching for answers. The doctor had a message on her voicemail, that said all of her emergency appointments are going through Deborah Turturro. I was hesitant because I was concerned that I would not get proper treatment. I was assured that it was normal and that everything would be as if; I was seeing the doctor. When I got to the office they took all of my insurance info. They then informed me that they take photos of new patients and asked if it was ok. I respectfully declined and my picture was not taken. They then took me to a room where they had more questions for me. My husband came with. As you know doctors offices can be very invasive. They asked me so many questions that it was extremely uncomfortable. I answered because I wanted to get to the bottom line of the pain I was having. After a long process of questions and answers; they put my husband and I in a another room. They said I would be going to the nurses office for more questions and then back to the current room for my exam. I went to Deborah's office where she proceeded with another interview. She then walked me into an examination room other than where all of my personal belongings were. She asked me to change into my gown. I heard one of her co workers question her about it; letting her know my belongings were in another area. She chuckled and said well I just brought her in this room. She came back for the exam. It took her literally two minutes for the process. She had me lift my legs... insert her two fingers into my private area; felt around for like the count of five and was done. She started to put my chair down. I was shocked. I asked her was she going to finish the exam. I informed her that I was supposed to get a pap smear and a breast exam as well. She said it was not in the records. I assured her that I made the appointment to do so. She stepped out for two seconds and came back. She said, I'm sorry. You have to make another appointment two weeks in advance. I told her that the appointment had already been made. I then asked her what was done today? I asked if she had any information for me based on that examination. She said I probably have a cyst and that she would send me for an ultra sound but that would take another two weeks. I asked her why she would not continue the exam and was she overloaded with patients. She got noticeably upset and defensive. She said my name rather sarcastically; telling me to make another appointment two weeks in advance. She then walked out of the room. I felt violated. Here I am naked from the waist down after this supposed medical professional, puts her hands inside me for 2 minutes and sends me on my way. I was disgusted and humiliated. Most of all, I was still in unresolved pain. The biggest disappointment was that there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. I put my clothes on and went back to the other side of the office where my husband and my belongings were. As I proceeded to leave, the receptionist asked if everything was ok. I said no. I was overwhelmed and felt as though I was going to cry from disappointment. I did not! She asked how the exam went. I told her the Pap smear was not done. She called Deborah to see if it was possible. Deborah shut her down. The receptionist then asked about my ultrasound appointment. I told her it was in two weeks. She seemed disappointed for me. She then made a call and got me an appointment with a different lab for the next day. I am beyond disappointed. No one wants to go to a medical facility and leave feeling like they got more out of you, than you did out of them. It feels as though we are just insurance money... with personal information that could be sold. I am disgusted and still in pain! read more

I found the name of this doctor on our Neighbor Watch application. She was highlighted for her care and attention towards her clients. The office was nearby and making appointment seemed pretty smooth. I wasn't notified on the phone previously that I would only see the nurse not the doctor. It was a little disappointing but I was so miserable with my health condition that I didn't want to ruin my appointment. The nurse was nice and seemed knowledgeable, however, my condition didn't go away and after the treatment I got worse. I called and begged them to arrange another appointment with the doctor, but they seemed so careless and cold. They said the doctor is booked and I can see the nurse again. The girl on the phone was rude and insensible.later on I was told by another dr what that nurse had been prescribed for me actually lowered my body resistance to the other type of antibiotics. Been seeing Dr Cotter since 2004. I forgot how I came to her but it was by recommendation, and I'm glad I did---she performed my total hysterectomy then, and I won't see any other GYN. I had some issues with radical menopausal symptoms immediately following my surgery, and I had adverse reactions to the pharmaceutical grade patches we tried. So I started seeing a homeopathic doctor but the cost of seeing an out-of-network doctor is simply exorbitant! At my wits end, I succumbed to pouring out my heart to Dr Cotter about my personal views on the matter, and she supported my decision to go on natural hormone replacement therapy! I was a patient of Dr. Cotter's many years ago. I decided it was time to leave when I saw she was pushing Botox and other injectibles. Something rubbed me the wrong way about an OBGYN offering cosmetic services to her patients. It felt as though she was taking advantage of her audience and she seemed to care more about $$$ making procedures than her actual area of expertise. Other things about her that left a bad taste....she was always late (like up to an hour) and never acknowledged that she'd kept me waiting and her bedside manor was awkward and unnatural. After 7 years, it finally occurred to me that I really didn't like being Dr. Cotter's patient, so I moved on (and I'm glad I did). read more

This review is for Deborah Turturro and is very late coming. I meant to write this review a couple months ago when I first came to the office, but I am finally getting around to writing it now. I originally called to make an appointment for Renee Cotter, however, she was booked through the next month or two and the sweet receptionist informed me two options: I could either make an appointment with Renee at a later date or I could see Deborah at a sooner date. I decided to see Deborah and the receptionist kindly assured me that she was a wonderful person for me to make an appointment with. I could not agree more! :) I just moved back to the area and was not familiar with who to see, and my friends all had different recommendations and I actually found this office randomly and not through a recommendation. I AM SO GLAD i came and saw Deborah! From the moment I walked in, everyone was extremely welcoming. The paperwork process was quick and easy, the office was neat and comfy and the nurses were all nice. When I met Deborah, she made me feel comfortable immediately. She was discreet and answered all of my questions. She really seemed to have my best interest in mind and it was a really comfortable experience for me (As comfortable of an experience as these types of appointments can be at least.) I am blown away by the level of service I received and I have already referred this office to my best friends. read more
