93 Fender Blues Deville 4 x 10 - My old reliable amp tech moved away and I needed to new one to repair the old tweed. She was firing up but silent as a ghost. I also needed the OG input jacks replaced and a basic tune up/scope to diagnose any other issues. I took my '69 Fender Princeton (which is my baby) to Evan. Even though it was working and sounded pretty good, it was having some issues. Reluctantly I figured, hey, this thing is old. I should get it looked at. Evan gets into the amp and it's an absolute dumpster fire. Wrong fuse, the grounding is wrong, caps and resisters are messed up, cold solder points, wrong rectifier tube, bias is all wrong, etc. He couldn't believe it hadn't caught on fire yet. Long story short, I get my amp back and it sounds like a brand new amp. It has a growl you wouldn't believe! Prior to working on the amp, Evan does a complete video showing everything he finds wrong or not working with the amp, which was pretty nifty. There was no arguing with the issues he found in my amp. Price was itemized and invoiced. I believe I got top quality work done on my amp. I also believe I paid a fair price for the services provided. You get what you pay for...in this case my '69 Fender Princeton must sound exactly like it did when it came off the factory floor in Corona back then. If you need your tube amp repaired, this is the guy to talk to. Brought him my Orange Rockerverb 100 MK III to get checked out because the volume just wasn't there. Evan gladly went through the amp and notified me that the only "issue" with the amp were the incorrect tubes someone installed in the effects loop, but the head worked swimmingly and put out more than the 100 watts it was rated for. I have a fender performer 1000 amplifier. I bought it used. The amplifier was making a crackling noise when I would adjust the volume. The insert for the input jack was gone. The dials were hard to turn. It needed a tuneup. I'm pleased to say that Evans work is top notch. My amplifier now sounds good as new. One more thing, Evan found a cracked solder and damage to the circuitboard that he repaired.
