Loved being able to experience all types of cuisine in the capital city…read more London is a melting pot and for lucky me with mandatory stops en route to Asia that allow us an extra day or two comes this great opportunity to explore and love this Turkish gem. Authentic Turkish food! Amazing, just amazing service from Berken and his team with the smiles and warm" where have you been" greeting the second we entered! Belly dancing( better get warmed up and ready to jump in); The best kebabs in the south and east of London, not just my vote but unanimous via polls and 5 star customer reviews. Gorgeous interior. Beautiful tea. Huge portions. Unbelievable prices - €35 for a multi course dinner( three meals in one basically). No charge for extra hummus or salad( by the way the hummus was outstanding - so fresh!). Gorgeous presentation. This was a sensational, fifty star experience!

The aesthetics and ambiance of this restaurant were great and we soon found out that Thursday is 'Belly Dancing Night'. Ordered more food than we could ever finish as we do not have easy access to Turkish food back in the States. We ordered garlic bread (thumbs up from my son), the cheese platter/ tomatoes, fried cheese rolls, Scottish ribeye, mixed grill platter, Chicken shish, and chicken addana. Everything was great however the Adana was a bit dry. My son and I loved the Ribeye steak which had a rosemary flare to it. Solid 4.3 out of 5 and would definitely return if we are ever back in this part of the Country.

I so want to give a five star rating here but am terribly torn. The level of service was so…read moredisappointing that I think I may never convince my other half to return here with me again. Please read in full- I am desperately hoping this was a one time service mishap. Let me begin with all the positives! I am absolutely enamoured with the ambiance and decor at Comptoir! The food was also fantastic! The decor is colourful and full of life. There is an indoor Souk Shop, which is an open air marketplace in Middle Eastern cities. There are beautiful straw bags, silver baskets and tea pots lining the walls which are available for sale. There are also Turkish teas, fig jams, harissa paste, Fanta and delicious sweets that you can take home or gift to keep the experience going. The food does not disappoint! We shared the Mezze platter for two that game with all sorts of deliciousness: Baba ghanuj, hommos, tabbouleh, falafel, lentil salad, cheese sambousek, pickles and pita bread. Everything was marvellous when it came to the quality of the food. The dessert menu itself makes a good argument to stop in for a quick treat! There is an outdoor patio along the Thames which is also a lovely area in nice weather. Now for the service: The day I visited there was twice the amount of staff as patrons when we arrived. We were seated by the staff and waited several minutes to order water and wine. After a long wait, a waiter came and took our order for our Mezze platter. As we sat for 30 minutes in a calm restaurant waiting for our Mezze platter, we saw the staff continuously cleaning silver wear, the cooks staring at patrons and wondering why everyone appeared busy but alas, no food or any other communications. As we had given up hope of eating, the waiter came back and asked us if we were ready to order. The waiter clearly forgot to enter in the food. He quickly blamed the kitchen and put in our food order on the computer. After this, the cooks and several staff were staring at us for the rest of our meal, circling and hovering clearly ready to help but very, very awkward having so many people stare while trying to eat. We were so uncomfortable that I couldn't even order dessert- which I was very much looking forward to. It would have been so much better to simply apologise for the mishap. I will absolutely give Comptoir another try, as everyone has a bad day, but I do hope that the management team takes note. It's such a gorgeous place and I would love to bring a group of friends here for a party-

I might not have the same live audience, but I have hundreds of fellow yelpers to sing the song to, specifically in this review. My dream, regarding food, was to someday find the perfect service. I finally found it here, at Dinners Delight. I have dined in many, many places. I have had great service as well. But it has never been as kind, warm and sincere (please, emphasize that last word) as I the one we got from the owners of this little neighborhood establishment. This made my heart glow, as my family wanted us to have a great English Breakfast experience. It was superb, simple and unforgettable. We were there with a baby, and despite the fuzz the little ones make some times, they were patient and lovely to my nephew. My munchkin was delighted, had a great time, and his own plate of eggs and toast. It was heart-warming, comfort food at its best. We started with an order of Hellumi Cheese, which was nicely grilled and deliciously chewy to our palates. Coffee was excellent, too. Not too bold, not too bitter. Just what we wanted (and needed). The food was the typical artery clogging fare, nicely done and presented with love. I had an "Early Start" combo that came with scrambled eggs, English bacon, grilled tomatoes, hash brown and the loveliest "good morning" wishes I've ever got in a restaurant. Everything was good, hot and hearty. The man was happy with his own dish, too (pretty similar to mine, but he skipped the beans, which was a good decision). We will be back for sure. The people that run this restaurant look genuinely grateful for their patrons business, and really value their customers by making them feel at home. I didn't want to leave. I wanted to keep ordering coffee and chatting with them. Many fellow customers seemed to be as happy as we all were. We will be back when visiting London. I can't wait to stop by, eat good food and see them again! Thank you, Dinners Delight, for letting our dreams come true!

Finally! A Turkish restaurant on par with my beloved Durum (Finchley Central)!…read more This used to be a big, bland Italian restaurant. Their food was absolute pants and their service wasn't much better. Enter Sheesh Mangal, new kid on the block - on a recent trip to Worcester Park my fella and I made a beeline here for dinner to takeaway. I had my favourite lamb shish which you can have in a box with salad and rice or bulgar wheat, or in a wrap with salad (and lots of chilli sauce if you like it hot like me!), we also had grilled hallumi, some little kofte balls, an aubergine dip, mucver and Turkish pizza bread. I had it in a box so the succulent cubes of lamb came on a bed of warm bulgar wheat and the salad box was bursting with fresh lettuce, red cabbage, tomatoes, green pickled chillies, sliced gherkins and other yummy salad-y bits. It was such a delicious dinner that a couple of days later, while running late for a party, I sent my boyfriend off to get us both a wrap to eat quickly before we left. The wrap was, in my opinion, even better than the boxed option and was dripping with lamb juices and chilli sauce - you simply cannot look refined eating it but who cares, it's sex on a plate (or in a wrap in this case!) A definite star of Worcester Park High Street!
