Wow! Once RWG received a phone call from Walgreens they called me like a swat team to be sure I got my meds filled! Let me complete my story... The main Dr (Sherry Neyman) moved to a new business, mostly non-insured procedures & treatments. I've just run out of my 90 day refill... Walgreens keeps sending text that they are faxing Dr for refill... I happened to be in same building this morning and the RWG lobby Neyman occupied is was empty other than a 5 gallon paint bucket... left a notice taped to the door no patient care starting 11/17/25, see pic. read more

Renaissance Women's Group - Notice of no longer providing patient care. - Obstetricians & Gynecologists Near Me - Austin, Texas

And it continues. Have still NEVER seen a doctor only a PA. PA calls in wrong meds. PA states doctor group does not want to RX oral testosterone. Only cream. (Not true) PA states same group only wants progesterone oral vs combination patch (not true as I spoke to nurse). KNOW your medicine - progesterone oral CAN affect you causing tiredness. POrtal doctor and am told they don't like RXing HRT therapy to people over 65! Clearly, not concerned about bones etc. Smh read more

If I could leave a negative star rating I would. They absolutely do not prioritize your healthcare here. You are just a paying customer and not a human to them. Such a shame as this is a primarily female staffed women's facility you figured they're would be more understanding. Have been trying to get seen since February, it's now June. I've had several appointments that I scheduled months in advance, get canceled with a very short notice. The office claims that they tried to contact you to reschedule, but they don't. And forget about trying to get through to them on the phone. At least 30-45 min wait each time. At this point I've given up on this practice and im going to do some research to find a provider to cares about and prioritizes womens health. This is one of the most pathetic and disappointing facilities I've ever experienced. read more

Always something... in the past I had a terrible experience during IUD placement, an appoint mis-scheduled twice, and today was no better. Doctor said they'd provide the prescription to the pharmacy... no updates and no prescription sent. I asked the front office for a written prescription for exactly this reason and was refused. Why is it so hard to get prompt, professional care that is complete with attention to detail on the follow up actions? read more

This service went from bad to worse. It took four months to provide me with lab results info and then they proceeded to insist that I came into the office to review them when they couldve done this over the phone. I was out of the state on an emergency and had to fly back only to do so in 5 mins with a lackluster apology which they then are now attempting to have me pay for. DO NOT GO THERE. read more

I am having a bad experience with this office. My initial visit was a few days after I'd ended up in the ER for intense uterine pain where they did an ultrasound and there was a finding. When I made the appt with Renaissance, I told them this was my reason for visit, that I needed to discuss the findings with an OBGYN. I asked the man on the phone if they could assist me in requesting my imagaing from St David's ER--they flatout said no. I said "ok so I'd need to request them myself?" And they said "yes we dont help with that". Ok. So I contact St David's and they tell me that without a physician's request, it could take weeks for them to complete my request, and that if I wanted the imaging in time I'd need the doctor's office to do it. I called Renaissance back and told them this and they said "oh let me transfer you to our RECORDS REQUEST team". What?! Why did they tell me they didnt help with this before? So I speak with records request, and they said "no problem we'll get them sent over now and should have the records by your appt". Day of my appt I am told to get there 15 minutes early for paperwork. My appt was at 2:15 and I got there at 2:00. They gave me so much paperwork I was not done until 2:45. I had to wait an hour to see the doctor, who then informed me that they did not receive my imaging from St David's, only a vague report which did not discuss size or location of my finding. Dr Wheeler told me she could not provide me with much info without further details that the imaging would provide. I told her I tried very hard to work with her office to get the imaging and she kinda just shrugged. We discussed some generalities, but she told me we'd just need to wait and see if the pain persists and that I should follow up in 1-2 months. This is NOT a helpful visit. I explicitly booked this appt to discuss a specific issue and because their team failed to follow through with their end of things, I am left billing my insurance for an appt that I got very little out of and will now inevitably need to pay for future appts because of. Additionally, once I was done seeing the doctor it was about 4pm. I was told I should complete a screening to see if I'm a candidate for BRCA genetic testing. I was told to sit outside the nurses office, complete the questionaire, and then a nurse would see my results and come talk to me. I did the questionaire which took 5 minutes, then proceeded to sit there for 25 more minutes. Finally I knocked on the door to the office where all the nurses were just chatting and one said "oh my I completely forgot about you! Let me see if I got the results, yep here they are, you are a candidate". Then she explained that they have a lab to give the blood sample but they just closed at 4:30 and now I'll have to come back. If they had not been so distracted, I would have been able to give my sample same day. By the time I was leaving it was 4:45 and I was incredibly disappointed by how inefficient this office was. I felt there was no respect of my time or personal needs, like I was just a small cog in some giant uncaring system. A few days later I got an email notifying me that my pap results were in and there was candida present. I sent Dr Wheeler a message via the portal asking if she recommends anything and gave her some history. I got no response for 2 weeks. When I went back to give my blood sample for the BRCA testing, I asked if the doctors usually respond to the portal messages and was told they do and that she just needed more time. The next day I get a notification for a prescription, no other info. I've never taken the drug before and was hoping for some guidance from my doctor about whether that drug was right for me. I called the office and spoke to a nurse practitioner who just said "this is what we always prescribe for this issue" and could not answer any of my other questions regarding interactions with my body or long term effects. I would think it is a doctors job to discuss treatment options with her patients, not just put in prescriptions and leave patients guessing about how it will affect them. I felt very alone and uninformed, having to do research on the internet to answer my own questions, whereas I think I should've felt support from the medical professional I am paying to treat me. After I'd given my blood sample, I was told I'd get a call from Dr Wheeler once the genetics results were in. Well I got access to the results a week ago and have heard from no one. I would REALLY love to discuss the results with my doctor but it seems that may be expecting just a bit too much from this group. Communication does not seem to be there strong suit. I would not recommend this office to anyone. read more

I used to love going there until my last visit. Can't even explain the awful visit. All I have to say is don't have conversations next to the door where patients can hear you. read more

Unfortunately I really liked my doctor, however it's nearly impossible to get ahold of anyone at the front desk to schedule appointments. I went here 4 months ago, when I was leaving I was standing at the counter to pay for 10 minutes and no one acknowledged me, very similar to my experience when I arrived. Eventually I had to leave to return to work. I did not receive any calls, no emails, no letters, NOTHING about my bill. They just sent me to COLLECTIONS. Not to mention I gave them my insurance already and they didn't record that so my debt is way higher. I've reached out several times and no one is getting back to me. This is so wrong!!! I'll update this if I ever get a response. If not I'll go into more detail on my experience as their patient. read more

Everyone I've interacted with care immensely and are very sweet. The biggest problem with this office is their team on the phones. They are extremely short staffed which I am aware is a national problem however when it takes over a week to get a callback but does not make a first time nervous mama feel any better. Trying to give grace because the world is in a shortage but whoever does the hiring and budgeting need to update the pay in order to have the staff to provide adequate care for the patients they have currently. The people on the phones are not friendly either but again they are probably short staffed and overworked. read more

RWG was recommended to me by a co-worker from her positive experience. Unfortunately, this was not my experience. I called the scheduling number from the website and had to leave a voicemail. It took over a week for a follow-up call. After finally scheduling an appt and waiting 3 weeks for my 5/2 appt, I just received a call to reschedule as Dr. Wheeler will now all of a sudden not be in office. I was told they reached out to me on 4/23, and I have not received a text or call until today 4/28. The scheduler was smirk, and I can tell she cared less about my new patient experience. Too many red flags just to get in the door. I don't want another provider or appt date at this group as I've already taken off work to have a full day of doctor appointments. This was an inconvenience and a horrible first impression from RWG. I would NOT recommend this group or experience for anyone. Do better. Be consistent. Be reliable. As a nurse, I can also relate to poor patient experiences in the healthcare system, and this is definitely one of them. If zero was an option, 0/10 do not recommend. read more

Ladies, if you are like me, you want a doctor that cares about you and your health. I had heard wonderful things about the doctors at this place, so I made an appointment six weeks ago with Lauren Williams. So why the one-star review? It's their phone system. I never received any kind of reminder about my appointment, so I called their office to verify. . . SIX TIMES. Yes. That's what you are going to be doing if you decide to go with these clowns. You will wait many, many minutes listening to insipid music, only to be told by a recorded voice one of three things -- that they are 'closed' (despite the fact you call during regular hours, they are "experiencing a very high call volume" or that you can leave a "message." Sounds easy, right? However, you will get no return call. I can't stomach a place that is so poorly run. It shouldn't be this darn hard to get a pap smear. Uugh. Awful. read more

The Drs at this establishment are the best in town. I'm guessing that's why the wait is sometimes long. If you want one of the very best OBGYN's Austin has to offer, this is the place. This place gets 0 of out 5 stars. For context, I work in the medical field and understand the shortcomings of the system we work within. Even considering that, this place is the absolute worst of the worst and stands out as a clear outlier. First, the staff is completely unhelpful and it is impossible to get them on the phone. Most recently (the straw that broke the camel's back), after waiting for four months for an appointment I made in advance for my annual visit (mind you they told me via phone I would be prohibited from raising any issues during this visit and if I had any health concerns, I would need to schedule a different visit), they left me a voicemail two days prior to my appointment telling me they would need to cancel my appointment and that I would need to call them back. I tried calling back and waited over an hour on the phone and when I finally was left the option for a call back, they never called me back. Prior to this, they also completely screwed up the bloodwork order so I had to go back twice for bloodwork. Additionally, the doctor was very dismissive of my concerns in my visit with her previously. It's hard to get good health care in Austin especially for OBGYN but this place is terrible. Avoid at all possible costs and save yourself the headache!!!! I will never go back and will tell others to avoid at all costs. read more

My OBGYN is Dr. Tara Mills. I just had my last little boy a week ago. My pregnancies are not easy by any means as I am a hyperemesis patient. My first pregnancy was a nightmare due to a careless obgyn. It honestly made me very hesitant to ever have kids again. I am SO thankful I found Dr. Mills. As this pregnancy was difficult, it was not as bad as my first due to me Getting proper care and early medical intervention. Dr.mills is so patient, kind, understanding and honestly that list goes on and on- she listened from the very beginning on what worked for me and not just offering ginger-ale and crackers as a solution to extreme nausea. Bottom line. This pregnancy and birth was one to remember- I received excellent care, and would be more than happy to refer doctor Mills every chance I get. Thank you for taking such good care of me and my boy! read more

Don't even bother!!!!!! I love Dr. Miranda McMillian and that's literally the only reason I step foot in this place. Can never get ahold of anyone to make an appointment and when you DO get ahold of someone they want to transfer you to the nurse's station where you need to leave a message and then no one returns your call. I just waited 45 minutes for them to hand me my own genetic testing kit to walk next door to the lab. The nurses/front desk are anything but friendly. Gah!! I wanted so much for this to be a good experience! I was actually on the hunt for a new doctor, wanting to break up with my current one. So I headed over here to see Dr. Truit (their Renfert way office which isn't on Yelp) for a birth control consult. Specifically. When I got to the office the dr was running behind so they asked me and two other patients if they would be fine seeing a nurse practitioner instead. The two other women declined for obvious reasons (pregnancies) but I didn't know any better. My nurse was actually amazing but couldn't give me the info or action I needed. She counseled with Dr Truit and the doctor committed to scheduling surgery and scheduling a pre-op consult. Its been two weeks. Not a word. I called the office to make sure they got my previous records (that took 3 days to confirm). I called to check to see if the surgery had been scheduled or if the dr wanted to see me back. No one knew, no one ever called me back (I confirmed they had the correct number). They kept said they would remind the doctor or "check" with her. I finally gave up. I was hopeful to finally get a doctor that cared about those of us that aren't pregnant or hoping to become pregnant. read more

This is the most unresponsive doctor's office I, or my daughter, have ever dealt with. Her appt. was cancelled 2 mos. ago due to weather and they have not only tried to reschedule it, but have been unresponsive to the hundreds of phone calls and messages we've both left trying to reschedule it. The message says they are always closed (even though it's within hours) or, if they are able to leave a message (no one to talk to) no one ever returns the call. She hasn't been seen in 3 mos. now and she is 28 weeks pregnant. She can't even get in with another OB because they need the medical records. The patient portal says they haven't been uploaded, and, of course, we can't get anyone to answer the phone. NEVER use this office again--I am looking for a way to report them. read more

Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. Had an appointment scheduled for 11/13, received an email Monday prior to confirm, completed the online forms and medication list, confirmed my appt for 11/13. I received a text message on morning of 11/13 as a reminder for my appointment. Took the day off for my appointment, MD's office ended canceled my appointment without notifying me. Very inconsiderate to me and my time. I called and spoke to Dr Jessica MacLeod's nurse and was advised they called me last month to cancel, which I never got. Instead I got an email and a text confirming my appointment this week. read more

Jessica MacLeod / Jessica Montalvo is the WORST OBGYN I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. I fired her and the practice the week of my scheduled induction. During every appointment, something was said that was off putting. I always racked it up to anxiety and pregnancy brain. During one appointment I expressed that I had lower back pain and severe pain in my hips, she said it's normal and then highly encouraged me to lose weight. She began to mansplain the effects of being overweight, to which I replied I understand. I'm well aware and have had this conversation with doctors before, just know I hear you and I'm doing what I can. She didn't seem to like that I was still calm and understanding so she then repeated her fat spiel word for word in a scolding demeanor as if I had not heard her the first time. That should've been my last visit with her. When I had an appointment with nurse practitioner Tania Yousaf and expressed my concern of hip and lower back pain- she wrote me a referral for physical therapy. No scolding, no fat shaming, just empathy and knowledge of what to do next. Tania was the only person I would schedule my appointments with until they made me start seeing Jessica towards the end of my pregnancy. If you're reading this, THANK YOU TANIA for treating me with kindness. Fast forward to my last trimester- Jessica checks my cervix, then offers her hand to help me sit up. I remind her slowly please because of my back and hips while I took her hand. she yelped, let go and dropped me halfway up. She then insisted upon helping again and then made a comment about not expecting me to pull her over. She left the room and immediately started laughing with the nurses in the hallway. I told myself they couldn't be laughing about what JUST happened while I'm still in here. Took some deep breaths to calm my anxiety. I walked out and they all quieted down. Rounded the corner and they busted out laughing again. Guess they were. If that wasn't enough, my last appointment before induction came around. My husband came with solely to help me sit back up after the examination. She asked how I was while I laid back. Told her I was fine and excited to meet baby. Time came for me to sit back up. I look to my husband, but she's already there insisting I take her hand. I remind her I'm still experiencing the back and hip pain and don't want a repeat of last time. She pulled me upright quite pointedly and goes to wash her hands at the sink. While facing away from me she goes on to say "yeah I wasn't expecting you to pull me over with ALL your weight last time. As for the back and hip pain, don't have another baby since this has been too difficult." She then turned around with her face all red and immediately jumped into telling me what to expect for the induction and briskly left the room while saying bye. Hubby said that's it. I called the office manager, reported the many instances and unprofessionalism, and requested a different doctor to deliver. Jessica decided to call me around 5:30 that same day. "I'm calling because I'd like to hear what you THINK I said to you because my office manager said you said I told you not to have any more babies and that's definitely not something that I would say. So I'd like to hear what it is you think I said?" WILD!! I told her that I wasn't going to be gaslit any longer. As an intelligent woman she should know better and how to speak to her patients and just be kind. Hit her with the good ol "bless your heart" and hung up. Called the office manager and informed her of the conversation, she was appalled that was what the conversation was because Jessica had told her she wanted to call and personally apologize. This sad woman is not a good doctor for larger women or even a kind person in general. read more

I checked in with receptionist, took my name and then asked me to sit. An hour and some later, my name gets called back. Ends up, receptionist checked in someone else with my first name (though I also gave her my last name and date of birth.) It was not me being called in when birthdays did not match. I check with receptionist who says "sorry"- nothing she can do just go to other office. Though I was in office with doc name on door, I was being seen in another office. I had arrived 30 m early so now 1 and half hours waiting. I go to other office. They say I missed my appointment. Explain other lady checked me in and asked me to sit. No one could see me since I "missed appointment" though was there. Asked if I can come back another day. No- I have a leg brace, need to hitch rides. No one could squeeze me in? Irony, as I was leaving complaining on my phone to wife, it happened to someone else. Same time, just different Renaissance office. Both of us were asked to rescheduled though they checked us in. I wish there was a way to give my doctor, Tara Mills, a 5 star, but her office not so much. I have settled on a 3 star. Doctor Tara Mills is absolutely phenomenal. I have been seeing her for nearly 13 years. The office used to be amazing and easy to contact. Unfortunately, it is now next to impossible to get a hold of the office. I leave messages with no return call, or the mailbox is full; however, you always time out to the mailbox. There are some amazing doctors in this group, but something really has to be done about the inability to get in touch with anyone at the office. I am sure like everywhere it has to do with short staffing and the pandemic, and I am going to try and be patient and wait through all of that. However, it is frustrating to say the least, and I am sure for new and expecting mothers even more so. read more

I am 7 months pregnant and, if I could switch practices this late in the game, I definitely would. I have never felt so left in the dark by medical professionals in my life. Honestly, I feel like rampant incompetence with regard to reading my chart threatens my safety and that of my baby. My experience at Renaissance started out positively enough. I had a gyn that I adored (Dr. Neyman) and I was devastated to learn she no longer delivers and that I would have to switch doctors for my pregnancy. So far, that has been a bit of a nightmare. As a high risk pregnancy, I was told I would have to split my time with Austin MFM (no one's ever been able to explain why). At any rate, I now have two doctors managing my care during this pregnancy. I suppose this set up is meant to address Texas' horrible maternal mortality rate. The IRONY is that if there's any reason something major gets overlooked, it's BECAUSE I have two doctors. That being said, I don't really know how to categorize my concerns with Renaissance Women's Group except to say that no one in that office appears to read my chart. The new doctor who is supposed to deliver my baby seems competent enough when I'm in the room, but there have been a series of frustrating mishaps (the most recent happening today). Here they are in somewhat chronological order: - Prior to my first OB appointment, I received a call stating that my labs came back and I needed a somewhat invasive procedure for further testing. I told her that I wasn't going to do that because a) I had already had the procedure performed less than a year ago and b) I was newly pregnant and had no interest in doing anything even remotely invasive. At any rate, I showed up for my appointment and the nurse tried to start prepping me for that procedure. I tried very hard not to lose my cool and said no. When the doctor came in, she was very apologetic and agreed it didn't need to be done. - My blood type came back as a negative blood type. When I asked the nurse about it at 22 weeks, she couldn't find that in my chart, but told me to ask the doctor about it. I did and, also not having recalled seeing that in my chart, she mentioned that I would need a shot at my next appointment and she made a note of it. (I shouldn't have to tell them information like that...we'll see if I have to remind them at my next appointment.) - The new doctor also informed me at 22 weeks that she would be on vacation for my delivery. I have no idea who is delivering this baby, but I'm 100% certain it won't be a doctor who's ever seen my face. (You always expect that might be a possibility, but it really just sucks when it's a certainty.) They've known my estimated due date since day one...since I was already switching doctors, why not switch me to someone else? (She said she schedules this trip once every 5 years, so it's not a recent thing.) - I have a condition that will require an anesthesia consultation to determine what type of anesthesia I will need. I asked the nurse if we could schedule the consult sooner than 32 weeks since, for crying out loud, I don't know who's delivering this baby, but I'd at least like to know HOW (awake or asleep). She said she's not allowed to schedule it sooner than 32 weeks, but if I happen to go into labor, there will be an anesthesiologist at the hospital and we can consult then. Not exactly the conditions under which I'd like to have this discussion. - I called and said that I would like to know if my thyroid levels have been normal on my labs since I was on thyroid medicine prior to my pregnancy. I am 26 weeks pregnant (25 weeks if you ask RWG)...and they informed me today that I have not had ANY labs on my thyroid. The nurse asked, "Did you fill out that you had thyroid issues in your paperwork?" My response was that I've been going to that practice for years and it should be in my chart. She put in lab order for my thyroid this week. - I've gained over 60 pounds in this pregnancy and not one medical professional at Renaissance Women's Group has said A WORD. In fact, at a 14 week appointment, I brought it up as a concern. They ordered an early glucose test and I had to contact them to see if it came back okay (it did). Still...not a word. (BTW, if it's thyroid-related, that will NOT go well...) - Also, when I called today and spoke to the nurse, at the beginning of the call, she looked up my date of birth and said, "Oh, we were calling to let you know that the results of your "invasive procedure" came back fine." GET OUT OF TOWN. The procedure they had no record of from less than a year ago when I had my first OB appointment...now they suddenly found it. Trying not to go postal on this lady, I said, "No...I'm 25 weeks pregnant and you were calling to schedule my c-section." Seriously. Reading this myself, I don't know if I can stick it out with them or not. read more

Waited for her to get off phone call and she fortunately had a signature stamp. Returned downstairs with papers. All but one person new that day; their first day. This is no longer a real office. No one is there unless you are already an established patient. You can't make basic appointments for that office. By far Dr. Garza was the most impressive and had a great manner about him. My surgery went great. I'm so thankful I found and decided to go with Dr. Garza. Zero complaints, only praise. I went to the Renfert Way office for 3 years and saw 3 different providers. The front desk staff is a little hostile and it's not too easy to get anyone on the phone, however the care provided was just fine. I don't need much - just an annual and a birth control refill. What I didn't appreciate was the push to find something, anything else to diagnose so they could refer me to a friend. Also, tattoo enthusiasts beware. Jennifer expressed her interest in my tattoos by touching them without my consent. I don't think she in any way had malicious intent but it's still creepy AF to have your medical provider gently stroking your body while you're laying on your back practically naked. *shudder* I've decided to move on and find a new office. read more

I called 5 times to try to schedule an appointment, sat on hold over 39 mins each time, and then got dumped into the voicemail system when I was FINALLY the 1st person in the cue EVERY SINGLE TIME I called. I left a message 4 times asking to have a return call so I schedule my appointment. Nobody ever called me back. This is an absolutely unacceptably low level of customer care. If they can't bother to return a call, how likely are they to be available when you're ready to deliver??? read more

I LOVE the entire staff here. A lot of times you go to a clinic and love the doctor but not the nurse or the receptionist or vice versa. But having been to a few obgyn I can confidently and genuinely say this place has got it together. Dr McMillin is knowledgeable and compassionate. She never makes you feel rushed or burdened. If there's something she needs to look into, she will personally get back to you and promptly too! Jami is her nurse and is friendly and thorough. She always makes you feel welcome and at ease and no request or question go unanswered. She's very on top of things. And the receptionist/billing is extremely knowledgeable and helps break out all the financials for you. She's also patient in answering questions as billing isn't my forte. This is a well rounded place and well managed. I highly recommend them. read more
