Juan, the owner, performed my second laser removal session on my peachy-gray eyebrows, and I…read morecouldn't be more impressed. I had gone to a different technician for the first session--she removed some pigment but only did one pass and seemed hesitant due to lack of experience. In contrast, Juan clearly knew what he was doing. He confidently went over certain areas up to three times and removed a significant amount of pigment. Now, only a faint peach tone remains, and I'll likely need just one or two more sessions. I truly wish I had started with Juan from the beginning--I'd be much further along by now. This man knows lasers. He's passionate about them, talks about them nonstop (in the best way), and proudly calls himself a "laser geek" (LOL). It shows in his work. Before seeing him, my brows had a stubborn gray-green tint from two deep microblading sessions. After just one session with Juan, that darkness is nearly gone. Now, I only need a gray-brown pencil to lightly cover the peach, and it's a breeze compared to the two-tone routine I used to deal with. Just like all the other reviews say--Juan is kind, thorough, and honest. He tells you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear. Even though I live 350 miles away in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, I'll be back in eight weeks for my third session. Totally worth the trip.

Thank you for an honest and trustworthy provider and reasonable process since the 1k is basically wasted...

The location: Off the 14 bus line and also easily accessible by car since there's a parking lot! Easy to see from the street because the store front is BLUE. The service: Today I worked with the apprentice, Courtney. She was great throughout the consultation process, totally open to my idea and easy to work with. This was my first tattoo and I was super nervous but Courtney gave me all the information I needed to be prepared and comfortable. During the process, Courtney was very communicative. She gave me a heads up when she started and gave me the advice that I could watch or not. It didn't take long at all to do a black, smaller than a penny tattoo, and Courtney was excellent. Most notable: Courtney was so professional and attuned to making sure everything was perfect that she made a miniscule adjustment to the alignment of the design to make sure it was straight. I was definitely impressed and felt like I was in good hands. If I look for another tattoo in the Milwaukee area, I'll definitely come back here.

My next 3 appointments have been at this shop. The shop is very clean and has a great atmosphere. Everyone has been extremely kind, and there are a well diversed group of artists. While I can only speak on my experiences with Jay, who is incredibly talented, professional, and pleasant to be around; I haven't heard or seen anything that rubs me the wrong way. At this point, I've spent a good 20 hours at the shop, with no end in sight. I'm hooked and sticking with an artist who is like minded and connects with me in a way that results in me getting the best work possible. I say all this, and must disclose that I drive past tons of shops on my 2 hour (YES, TWO HOUR) drive to get there. I wouldn't have it any other way. I highly recommend Jay Purdy as an artist, especially if you want awesome and original new school work. Otherwise, there is surely an artist there that'll fit your needs and exceed your expectations. *** A couple tips if I may... 1. If you're looking for the best possible outcome for your tattoo, give a clear idea of what you want and maybe provide references. 2. Give your artist some creative freedom. They do this as their career and know what will result in the best possible piece of art. 3. TIP your artist! Contrary to popular belief, these guys aren't rich, they work more hours than you probably do and it goes unnoticed. They won't rub it in your face, but so much more goes in to your custom tattoo behind the scenes than you realize. Always tip your artist. And if you're extremely happy with the outcome, tip them more!
