This is still such a wonderful place with a great selection of music and so many cool retail items at a great value. Expertly curated and displayed. Still, my most favorite record store I've ever been to anywhere! Moved to California 30+ years ago and every time I'm in town I gotta take a peek and do that whole nostalgia trip in my head-if only the walls could talk, OH MY! I love the creaking floors as you walk across the showroom remembering those sounds heard in the basement packing my own orders to ensure in stock items were shipped. The cast of characters that visited and cool musicians- one day Devo came popping through handing out 3-D buttons with those flower pot looking things on their heads and strange jumpsuits. "It's not too late To whip it Into shape Shape it up Get straight Go forward Move ahead" my daughter wore my old jacket from 1979 (in picture) . The nice staff were very friendly and enamored with the jacket and the manager took some pictures which gave my daughter a huge tickle. I think the cat's name is Bob Fuchs and he's been there since the late '80s and a good ambassador of the brand and so kind to indulge us. This is a must visit if you're ever in Minneapolis set aside some time it's worth every minute!

Found a few albums for under $10 and a few unique ones at prices in the $30 to $40 range. Depending on your taste well worth the money. Check out staff was personable. I did not see any floor staff wandering the aisles asking if you needed any help... but guess that is the part of the experience; seek out your own finds!

Most used record stores these days just have piles of chum to slog through, but this store is a gleaming shining example for every other record store to follow. Todd is very picky about the collections he buys, so there really isn't a clunker in the whole bunch. I really appreciated that, because my time is valuable and who wants to look through a bunch of crap just to get to the good stuff? Well here it's all good stuff! Todd is also very knowledgeable about many genres of music, and he takes the time to source high quality records and look up what each one is worth and price everything accordingly. I loved the "Buy two get one free" sale, of course I am a bargain hunter so I left with nine records plus a bonus record. Super happy with my purchases, I examined each record before I bought it, but it turned out it was not necessary. Todd examines them and does not sell anything that isn't stellar quality. I highly recommend this store, both for buying and selling, as I was told he gives a very fair price when buying Collections, if they are sought after and of high quality. The shop also sells books and I think DVDs and some other things, but I only had time to look through the main section of records. There was also a section of new records, but I didn't look through that section. Todd was great to talk to as well, and pointed me to an AWESOME authentic place to eat just down the block, Main Street Tacos! I came right in at opening so no one was in store yet so they said fine I'll check them out, so records were snatched out of my hands and the employee went to the back to inspect them, and 2nd employee said "we're doing you a favor" with attitude in his tone. Then the guy offered me $3 for records that were worth at least 30 a piece, they were barely used, near mint and he lowballed me, so brought my records to Mill City Sound and got offered a great price for my records, go to Mill City Sound in Hopkins not this place!

At the time, my husband just wanted to get rid of his old console and would be happy with any amount he made. The store has a wide selection of video games for a variety of consoles. But I stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon alone with a mission: Magic the Gathering cards. I was looking for Innistrad bundle set (2021), which they did not have. The shopkeeper led me to a small section of the store and they have very limited trading card games available. They had the draft set booster for way over the market price. They had it listed for $139 when TCGPlayer has brand new, factory sealed for $78, and have median pricing ~$103. Maybe it was because I was passive or didn't do in-depth research prior, but I felt hostility from the shopkeeper - like he needed me to make a decision and buy something despite they said they didn't have the bundle set I was looking for or get out. They stood by me as I processed what I should do since they didn't have the bundle set I was looking for. I simply thanked them for their time and left.

They have legos, board games, vinyl records, notebooks, tarot cards, and so much more. They even have super cheap totes that are cute to boot.

I find the prices very fair and more importantly every used record I have purchased has been in great condition. They are very transparent if a record isn't in great condition. I wasted a lot of time and money scrounging antique stores for records only to be disappointed when I played them at home. Now I just go to Mill City where their great and friendly staff always steer me in the right direction. I bummed that my mom got rid of all my vinyl when I went into the military, but pumped that I discovered Mill City.
