We selected Rev. Charles Million to officiate our wedding just two months before our wedding date. I had originally chosen a cousin to officiate, but that ended up not working out. I found Remembrance Weddings on a google search (don't recall the site) and contacted several officiants including Remembrance Weddings looking for an officiant. Only Rev. Million proactively contacted me after my initial inquiry. Once it was all said and done, I was extremely satisfied with his services.
His price seemed high at first ($475 or $495, I forget) which included a rehearsal. At that point, I didn't feel like shopping around anymore, and was willing to pay just to be done searching. He was very responsive to communication at first, but once we had officially hired him (he had our money), the communication did seem to drop off a bit. Specifically I did not get fast responses to some emails, and no responses to others. This concerned me briefly, but I was able to get a hold of him if I needed to, and honestly, there were no issues whatsoever when it came down to him getting the job done well.
He has an excellent presence. Relaxed mannerisms with a very strong voice. I can't wait to watch our video, because during the ceremony I was nervous, and a little overwhelmed by everything, and I struggled to keep my focus on him (I kept looking at my husband, wedding party, flowers, etc.) After our ceremony was over, the compliments began to flood in. Everyone was so impressed with him and they were hoping he was the minister at our church, but my husband and I don't have a church. They asked how we found him, and my brain was fried from all the wedding stuff going on, and all I could remember was that it was a google search. I think people found that funny.
Rev. Million was able to accommodate our requested wedding style. We requested the "religious light" ceremony. In my opinion it was a very Christian ceremony, possibly more than we had intended, but I was happy with how it all turned out. I'm sure my family was thrilled that it was so strongly Christian also. Had I wanted it any less religious, that would have been my option as Rev. Million sent us the word-for-word transcript of our ceremony weeks in advance and allowed for changes. He also had the option of putting some humor into our ceremony. We elected not to have any jokes and I think it still turned out very light and sweet. He originally suggested our ceremony would be 30-35 minutes, but when it was all said and done, I think it ran over 40 minutes, but it didn't feel that long to me.
We didn't elect to use Rev. Million for any premarital counseling b/c we are flat broke right now, and our relationship is miraculously virtually problem-free (for now) but in the future, should the need arise, I would love to set up counseling sessions with Rev. Million. I would recommend any friend to use him to officiate their wedding also. read more
