As a fresh new resident of St Louis and moving quickly into a new relationship 3 days after my…read morefirst divorce, I was on the lookout for a wedding venue for marriage #2. I'll spend $1,000 on some shoes but a wedding? No way. My first and second marriage total come to about $150 and if I ever add a marriage #3, the total won't be more than $250. This was 5 years ago and I wasn't picky but we really found a gem. I wanted to get the wedding in right around Thanksgiving to have a future excuse to get out of family holidays. The quick scheduling (less than 2 weeks) and $75 happy hour special (between 12 and 2) were perfect! Canned champagne in the parking lot beforehand, a quick in and out that totaled no more than 30 minutes, a few friends and we were hitched! The morning was spent at the gym and the evening was spent eating waffles and drinking cocktails on Cherokee (after a costume change, of course!). So stress free and cheap. The background used to be pink/rose but it looks like they've painted it a nice grey to update. It also had some wild carpet which looks now to be wood. It is (or was) cheezy in a classy way, if you know what I mean. Now it may be a little nicer which is fine but I enjoyed the quirky charm. When you first come in, you spend a few minutes with the officiant in the office getting things laid out. Then, it's on! We wrote our own vows, made jokes, and overall loved the officiant. I cannot believe people spend so much on weddings when this is just perfect and gets the job done (over and over and over again, if necessary).

Extremely Disorganized and Unprofessional Experience…read more I attended my friend's wedding here, and from start to finish, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. The venue changed the tasting date last minute without offering any alternative options -- they simply picked a new date, which the groom couldn't even attend. The wedding coordinator also wasn't present for the rehearsal and had her coworker fill in instead. We practiced the ceremony outside, but at 10 PM the night before the wedding, the bride received a text saying they hadn't paid for the outdoor space -- meaning the wedding would now be moved indoors. No one followed up that night, and when the mother of the bride called the next day, the staff was rude and dismissive until an additional fee was finally paid to resolve the issue. On the morning of the wedding, the bridal party couldn't even get into the bridal suite for over an hour. It took 6-7 people calling and messaging staff before we finally got the access code. During setup, the head table was missing four chairs, and one guest table was missing entirely. When this was brought to the coordinator's attention, she stressed the groom out by asking him what he wanted to do instead of calmly handling the problem herself. To make matters worse, the DJ (who was not booked through the venue) made multiple mistakes -- including playing the wrong father-daughter song and introducing the best man incorrectly -- which just added to an already chaotic day. Before the ceremony began, staff rudely told guests to "get off their phones," which several people commented on afterward as being unnecessary and unprofessional. At the end of the day, the bride and groom still had a wonderful time, but that was because of who they are, not because of this venue. The joy of the couple and their guests carried the day -- despite the venue's disorganization, lack of communication, and poor customer service. If you think there aren't wedding venues out there that operate unethically or take advantage of couples during such an important time -- think again. This is one of those places. Their behavior throughout the entire process felt careless, opportunistic, and deeply unprofessional.

Wedding Venue Review: A Disappointing Lack of Professionalism…read more I recently attended my friend's wedding at this venue and was very disappointed by the venue's consistent lack of professionalism and preparation, particularly from the coordinator and key staff. While the couple is extremely easy-going, the amount of logistical errors and poor service created unnecessary stress and anxiety on what should have been their most joyful day. The issues, starting with minor planning flaws and escalating to major day-of failures, indicate a severe operational problem at this facility. Failures in Planning and Communication The disorganization began during the planning stages: * The wedding coordinator was repeatedly late for scheduled meetings. * The food tasting was abruptly rescheduled the day before, making it impossible for the groom to attend. * The coordinator was unavailable to attend the official wedding rehearsal. * The most concerning communication failure occurred the night before the wedding: the venue texted the bride at 10 pm stating the ceremony would be moved inside, claiming she had never requested an outside location (which was not true). When the bride responded immediately to correct the error, no one answered leaving her stressed the night before her wedding. Didnt even answer her the next day. Unacceptable Day-Of Service The problems reached a critical point on the wedding day: * Bridal Suite Access Delay: The bridal party and hair/makeup artists, who were scheduled to start at 8:00 AM, were left waiting for 30 minutes outside the paid-for suite. We had to repeatedly call and message staff before an access code was finally provided, with no apology or assistance offered. Finally one of bridesmaid had to download a file from the website to be able to access their after hours phone number to get a hold of someone. * Wrong Ceremony Music: The incorrect father-daughter dance song was played during a pivotal moment of the reception. * Rudeness and Set-Up Errors: * The head table was missing 4 seats. When a member of the bridal party pointed this out, the staff handled the correction with obvious frustration, treating the request as an "inconvenience" rather than fixing their own mistake. The wedding coordinator also rolled her eyes at this mistake. * We discovered that Table 16 was completely missing when guests could not find their seats. When alerted, the coordinator again reacted poorly, acting as though setting up the forgotten table was an unreasonable request. * Poor Bar Service: The bar staff was noticeably rude and dismissive when taking drink orders from guests throughout the evening. For a highly anticipated and expensive event for this couple and their families, the service provided by this venue was shockingly negligent. The staff's repeated mistakes and discourteous attitude toward the wedding party and guests made this a profoundly negative experience. I urge other couples to consider these major operational and service failures before booking here.

After searching several locations in the St. Louis area we just couldn't find something that wasn't the typical banquet hall or golf club. We both knew we didn't want a barn wedding or a city scape wedding either. Something in between... The Vineyard at Riverbend Chapel is just that! From the gorgeous views, to the beautiful chapel... this location makes for a perfect indoor or outdoor ceremony. The outside ceremony overlooks the bluff and the river, and the inside has tall ceilings with glass windows, a gorgeous arbor, and can be candlelit all the way down the aisle. The outside is breathtaking and the inside is romantic and traditional. Something for everyone! The reception ball room is gorgeous too. They have so many extra amenities that they offer at no additional cost. From the event planning team, Toni and Tonya, to the serving and event staff they were absolutely professional and made our day run so smoothly. I felt at complete ease with them. Not to mention the food choices are absolutely delicious. I really can't say enough good things. If you are getting married in Missouri or surrounding area, it's absolutely worth checking out. My guest still keep saying how beautiful it all was! Thanks Riverbend!!

For those of you who aren't beach experts like me, Seaside was the site for the movie The Truman Show. While New Town is a bit too cookie-cutter perfect (some people were saying eerie), the Italian-style bridges, the fountained lakes and the stone cutouts for bonfires are nothing less than charming. It happened to be a chilly night so I was glad for the little venue selling hot chocolate and cappuccino. I spotted a diner, sports bar, church and market all within two blocks of each other. There were also two sand volleyball courts, and games continued until midnight. The idea of New Town and others like it is to be able to walk to any place you would need within a square mile. It's sort of like living in a bubble with all the necessities: furniture shops, clothing stores, a spa, recreation, a book store, music store, etc. Quite a beautiful bubble, though, I must admit...

This place was....interesting…read more I'll be honest, it popped up as a pumpkin patch. My sister just moved to the area and was looking for one close for her kiddos, and this was around the corner, so we decided to give it a try. To start, it was $10/person to get in, which wasn't really promoted. We've lived many different places and have never had to pay to get into a pumpkin patch, so that was a surprise. Kids were the same price, also a surprise. The property is pretty cool, they have some farm animals. They sold food to buy but half the animals you couldn't feed and the other half were already full from being fed so much. We assumed it was a regular petting zoo and bought some food before seeing it, so we ended up with leftover bags of food and no animals to feed. The hay ride only went once hourly so you basically had to wait around forever if you wanted to ride it. The maze was cool and the concept seemed really fun to find a message BUT the first word on the message was "God" and honestly, nowhere did they promote this farm as a religious-based experience. Lastly - the pumpkins. We came here for one reason. They don't even grow pumpkins on site, they ship them in, and they don't keep them stocked. I think we had like 20-30 pumpkins to choose from, if that, and they were picked over. We had a 4YO and a 6YO and they couldn't pick any of the pumpkins up, all the kid size ones were already sold. I feel like this could be a good spot for what it is, and if it was marketed as that - a Christian family fun farm experience. But, that's not what we had expected based on the marketing they had, so it was a bit of a disappointment for us.
