He was very patient with us as we started our journey of looking for the perfect home, which took roughly about 2 years. We finally found the home we were looking for and Steve and his team were instrumental in making sure we had everything we needed to make a successful closure. Steve was available at pretty much all times of the day while we were completing the paperwork and was able to connect us with a really great lender as well. Even after closing, Steve has kept contact with us and has been great at answering all our questions as first time home buyers! I can't recommend Steve and his team enough for their expertise and great step by step home buying process.

Jesus Christ, I can certainly understand that some people are desperate for business, but as a general courtesy, it is not a good idea to call your prospective seller at 4 am! I don't sleep much and I really value my sleep. As a matter of fact I am so sleep deprived that I fell asleep behind the wheel this last Friday the 13th of April and I totaled my car. That is why I am a bit protective of my sleep lately. So this guys calls my phone at 4 am, and when I didn't pick up he calls my wife's phone. Needless to say I wasn't the happiest camper. But I know that most people on the East Coast don't realize that (808) is a Hawaii area code, and that Hawaii is 6 hours behind the East Coast. So I politely text the guy and explain to him this phenomenon. I honestly didn't expect much, just a simple "Oh, I am sorry" would make me happy. But the guy texts me back with "I have no idea what you are talking about. Please don't text me again." Holly cow! I definitely didn't expect that kind of answer. But this kind of answer tells a lot about the business owner. Here are my three assumptions. 1. The guy did call me at 4 am and doesn't have the integrity to take the responsibility for the call and common sense to apologize. Would I chose someone without integrity and common sense as my real estate agent? Not a million years. 2. Someone from his office made the call, and he really had no idea what I was talking about. In that case he has absolutely no control over the people in his office, and lacks the courage to take responsibility for the actions of his employees. Would I chose someone who has no idea what is going on in his own agency as my real estate agent? Not in a thousand years. 3. The guy is a jerk and lacks basic customer service skills. Would I chose someone who is a jerk and lacks basic customer skills as my real estate agent? Not in a hundred years. Overall, I definitely don't recommend De Raedt Team to take care of any of your real estate needs based how they handled this situation. You can tell a lot about the business based on the fact how does the business owner treat his potential customers.

    Over the last two decades I've owned and managed several rental units in Reston and for much of…read morethat time Mark Wilson, a man I've known and worked with for many years, helped me in vetting tenants, negotiating leases, and acquiring maintenance assistance when it was needed. It was always a smooth process. So when it came time to finally sell the final property there was no question in my mind who I would turn to handle the transaction. The sale was made as part of a 1031 Exchange which takes special expertise and Mark brought this and much more to the table making the entire process as efficient and as transparent as possible. His market analysis and subsequent contract negotiation was on the mark - pun intended - and we brought the sale to close in record time. Timing was important because of the Exchange requirements which necessitate closure within some very strict parameters. To assist in this Mark referred me to an excellent colleague of his in my acquisition market - Richmond, VA - and that proved key in making the entire process work. What could have been a tricky - and costly - procedure went very quickly and very smoothly. My time in the Reston market both as a resident and investor has now come to a close but were that ever to change Mark would be the first person I'd call to get it taken care of. He is a person of integrity whose opinions I value, skills as an agent I admire, and recommendations I have faithfully and profitably followed. We worked together for over 4 months until we found our home, and Mark never pushed us to offer on homes that weren't right for us or make offers we weren't comfortable with. Morning, afternoon, or evening, he was always super communicative and quick to respond to questions, usually within minutes! He also has great insight when viewing homes and helped us focus on the important details of a home that first time home buyers like us might miss. There are so many agents out there, it can be hard to pick one - so do yourself a favor and give him a call when you're ready for your next home!
