Bogus billing charges that are added during physical exams. Routine questions answered, and then charged extra because the doctor spoke. Nothing extraordinary done. This is what is wrong with US Healthcare. Billing department blames provider, provider can't be found when asked about it. read more

Pulmonary MD suggested that my husband be transferred out of a PAC unit bed to a regular floor in his last days. He was not transferred and died peacefully with me by his side. That comment made me feel very sad and still does to this day. Gwen S. read more

It's very hard to find medical professionals in Worcester, ESP in Reliant who can actually keep a schedule, and my first visit here is no exception. I made the first appointment in the morning to try to be seen on time, and even though I was first up, it was still 20 minutes after the schedule time before they could see me. I rate this 2 stars because schedules are made so that neither person wastes their time waiting. In my mind, when I have a 8am appointment, I should be seen at 8am. I realize that 99% of people in Worcester in the profession seem to act like schedules are more of a guideline, but I disagree. To quote the policy from one of my previous employers: Early is OnTime OnTime is Late and Late is Fired. I thank God that my PCP is actually able to keep a schedule, and is in the Reliant infrastructure, so I know *it is possible.* He should do talks on it! read more

What a terrible experience. I highly recommend going somewhere else. Here are all the things I had to deal with when working with Reliant during my pregnancy: - Rescheduling appointments: this happened several times throughout my pregnancy due to a variety of reasons. I understand that there is staffing issues and people need to call in sick, but getting phone calls the day before my appointment at 9pm from a blocked number was unacceptable. They also changed the location of my appointment one time and did not tell me except in a MyChart message. The new location was an additional 10 minutes from my home, but because I went to my initial location I was told they wouldn't be able to accomodate me that day until 2-3 hours later. The communication was just appalling. They would just change the appointment without confirming if the new date and time worked for me. As someone who works a full time job, I try really hard to make sure all of my appointments are scheduled ahead of time to ensure that they work for my schedule. Last minute shifts are not something that most people can accomodate. - Extremely Long Wait Times: several times I had to wait more than 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time to see a provider. I was told that people were running late, providers were double (or even triple booked) and that I just needed to deal with it. I had one appointment that I was supposed to be completed with by 9am, and I was not out of the office until 10am. Again, as someone who is trying to make these appointments work and have a full time job, this is really hard to deal with all the time from a medical provider. - Rude interactions with front desk staff and nurses: When trying to figure out these rescheduled appointments, the office staff took no responsibility for the issues they had caused and I was completely responsible for making these updates to my schedule. I also called in to discuss leave situations for my upcoming postpartum leave, and was immediately spoken to like I needed to calm down and the nurse got very heated with me very quickly. Keeping your cool in a customer interaction especially during a stressful time of life is extremely important, and I genuinely feel that they all could do a better job here. - Lack of communication: I had several times when I would send a message on MyChart where I would not get a response. I was trying to alleviate the burden on phone calls with patients and allow them to answer within their 48 hour window, but I would always need to call to get a reply. One time I even sent them a message about a test result for an Ultrasound that seemed concerning to two different providers, and neither of them replied to me. Even when I tried messaging again with a reminder, I never received a response. If you're going to have an online system for communication, you should respond to your patients through there as well. Having to keep up with every communication and remember if I got a response or not was extremely frustrating. - Lab Complications: not only did I have a few issues with labs needing to be redone, but I was initially sent to Quest to complete my labs. Quest does not complete Reliant lab work. So, I wasted my time going to a Quest center AND I had to still go back to a Reliant Lab to get it done. I still don't understand why I was even contacted by Quest for this lab work even after multiple conversations with Reliant. They also send all of their lab work to California to get done, so don't expect it to arrive when promised. The midwives seem nice enough, but I'm just so confused as to how a group of people that are supposed to care for their patients could put anyone through this. read more

Never had any negative experiences with Reliant Medical at St.Vincents Hospital. Staff efficient, helpful & generally cheerful. I had pre-op procedures & a surgery with 1 overnight in hospital. I was apprehensive about my care since it was during nurses strike but I had no complaints. Nurse in recovery room was a delight & he even sent me a get well card after dismissal from hospital! Nurses on floor were shorthanded & stressed because of strike but all gave me good care. I think you have to approach caregivers with positive & pleasant attitude, which can go a long way to improve your experience. A woman in bed next to me ran nurses ragged with petty complaints & was still complaining on her way out the door upon her release. I doubt she would give a good review about her care. I was grateful that my apprehensions about my stay quickly disappeared. read more

I've been a member of Reliant for at least 20 years, and have definitely experienced the gamut in terms of quality health care. My reason for staying had to do with inertia (the Holden and Spencer offices were convenient), and the nightmare stories I've heard about UMass services. BUT, I'm thrilled to say, having had my second annual physical this past week, that I've got the best provider that I've had in decades in Diana Piscalla, one of the Nurse Practitioners. The most important thing for me is she actually listens and respects where I'm coming from, but beyond that, she's thorough and knowledgeable, and pays attention to follow up. I was reluctant to go with a Nurse Practitioner, but wouldn't go back. P.S. kudos to her assistant, Juan Cruz, sensitive, calming and competent. The staff really speaks for this place. Myself and my family have been patients at the Fallon Clinic for many years. The doctors are all wonderful people, not just great doctors. The pediatrics section is very accommodating to children's needs ( and has a mini indoor playground for those tots that hate to wait!) The pharmacy had its ups and downs in the past few years and was owned by several different companies, but now it is a CVS run pharmacy that you can you your Extra Care card at when purchasing medications. I had very bad experience there, I called there a few times and asked to meet doctor because I bleed a little bit, they told me I will meet obgyn doctor on Friday, i went there and the ultrasound image looked wired and my two blood work also looked not normal , they sent me to a nurse who couldn't provide correct information for me, I felt confused why i couldn't see the doctor as they told me, they sent me home and said my doctor will check my data and contacted me, i cried so bad when i got home, I dont think that is correct information that the nurse told me, i called the hospital back to beg any doctor to check my data because i know there is something wrong, and then one hour later at the same day, one doctor called me, he said you should go to ER immediately, i suffered at ER for entire night and lost the baby, i was so mad, if the doctor kept the appointment as they told me, the doctor can see something wrong and i dont need to go to ER, i have to pay for a lot of money and suffer there. read more

I recently met with Dr. Kristin Corapi at Worcester Medical Center (the Nephrology Department). There is much to say about this Doctor and her Staff. First I'm 65 yrs. old and I never felt so comfortable with a Doctor in my life time. Dr. Corapi spent almost 2 hrs with me during my initial visit and it was such a calming visit for me. I never met a Doctor that asks so many questions about me and my medical history. I have Kidney Disease and was diagnosed to be in Stage 4 prior to seeing Dr. Corapi. For the last 4 months I have been working on my eating habits and maintaining my blood pressure. Dr. Corapi showed me how she went over my Creatinine Levels and added that I might be in Stage 3b of the disease and if I continue to do well it might be 5 years before we need to discuss any dialysis treatment. Her staff and the folks at the front desk that checked me in deserve an A+ for patient satisfactory. No matter what kind of disease a person has...half the battle is having a Doctor that understands what your going through. Thank you Dr. Corapi for making it easier for me to wake up each morning and do my best. read more

There are two good things about this place, they have amazing midwifes and they validate parking passes. Other than that they are terrible. They have no appointments, while I was pregnant I had to go weeks without being seen because they had nothing. I am no longer pregnant and can't get it at all for 4/5 months! The secretaries are rude, the nurses are rude. I also have my pcp through reliant and because of this I cannot go anywhere else other than reliant. The pcp around here are limited for my insurance so I just can't see a doctor. Also they just dint care about the patients it's like going to McDonald's vs going to a nice restaurant. It's generic service and they could care less at the end of the day. read more
