DONT HIRE THEM!!! You are left feeling scammed. This is my story. AC install of a lemon unit - ok it happens. BUT, when asked it we could have another unit, no let's make it right. By mid next week (yes a wk later) we still did NOT have a functioning unit. Asked for it to be remove and void agreement (before the ten day) They ended up believing it was the plenum (ALSOstated the work would be done for free!!) and it needed changing. So, next day was that (coming up 10 days) still haven't gotten a copy of our contract OR a working unit! SO, we ask for them to remove it and we are told now it is past your 10days, so it will cost us $1,500 to have it removed. For the FEE work on the plenum. IF YOU CANCEAL before the 10 days you are going to pay whatever work was done. So, why hire that! Their Customer Relations NEVER called us, you know..... the customer!! They left it in the hands of the manager. Guess what?? He's the GUY we are having the issues with. So, don't count on a call or help from customer anything. The ONLY thing Reliance is reliable for, is that they are UNreliable. We wonder if that's how the manager gets his quota, guys get raises, group get voted group of the month. So, we are checking into our options. I REFUSE So, DONT Hire! read more

Reliance Home Comfort - AC Install turns to Furnace Putty Art - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Cambridge, Ontario

Selling USED OLD RELIANCE WATER HEATER. Ok, I bought a house with a Reliance Rental Water Heater. The heater is 12 years old. Rental on the heater is $41 a month. After 12 years, by the previous owner, that is $7,380 or more. I was told it would be $561.61 to buy it out and no more rental fees.. After 15 years or more it costs $35 to buy it out. I can only suggest if you don't want to pay ALL this money to Reliance look into buying it out. You do the math, , Well in May 2023 I looked into buying out the Reliance water heater in my 2011 NEW house I just purchased. They wanted $490 then. Well I got busy and in December I assumed it should be near $300 by now so I called them back about buying it out. WELL to my SHOCK they said it is now $540 to buy it out!! WHAT?? It went UP in value!! They said they priced it at fair market value as of today. ITS A USED WATER HEATER that only depreciates in value over time. They could NOT explain this increase in any way that I would accept. I said enough is enough and just bought it out. I JUST HAD ENOUGH OF THEIR CRAP, LIES, DECEPTION AND PRICE GOUGING!! AGAIN the worst company in ALL of CANADA. A loan shark would treat you better than they do, , read more

Your company is so crooked. My furnace stopped working after a flood so I call for a technician to come. As soon as you hear flood/insurance you send a salesman to sell me $10k worth of items. Called an actual certified repair company, fixed it, and since the fee was so small, insurance reimbursed without any issues. What are we paying your protection plan for? And for the record, my Furnace and AC unit was replaced for about $4k 3 years ago. Crooked... and I'm cancelling the service. read more

Emily, one of the plumbers with Reliance is amazing! She went above and beyond to ensure that thectoilet AND shower were leak free. Reliance responded quickly and sent me an expert! So glad I got the plumbing coverage. Thanks so much Emily! read more

Hate having to deal with this company.Dispatchers are not helpful or competent, and seem not to know what their Co. does. Technicians are a shite lot, rude and crooked(at least the 3-4 recently dealt with). Had 2 electricians in recently, made a bunch of mess related to their work and didn't clean it up afterwards. 1 didn't even acknowledge homeowners. Had a plumber next day and was loud, rude and had violent body language, tried to exploit a crazy sum for 15min of work. To sum it up, expect to feel used and abused after these guys roll up to your house. read more

Never again. Worst company I have ever dealt with. They will tell you anything to get your business and get you to sign a contract. Once you sign you are their least concern. They made so many mistakes with my air conditioner install it was actually quite comical. Also the sales guy straight up lied about all these rebates I would get. Turns out none of it was true. Should have trusted my gut and went with a local company. Never again read more

Pretty irritated with reliance, their rented water heater died, so when my landlord called to set up a service call they gave us between 7-11pm. Ok not terrible. 9 o'clock comes and dispatch calls: "yeah we tried to send someone earlier but they got lost, can you give us some directions?" (our house is on the side of a busy highway and hard to miss) "sure we're at the corner Hwy X and concession road X east" "alright I'll have a guy out there in a bit" 2 am comes around still no service guy... screw this I'm going to bed. Thanks for wrecking my weekend Reliance read more

Called on January 18 of 2020 asking to correct yet another mistake on my bill, they were trying to charge my protection plan twice in one bill. Then I asked what were my options to leave the water heater rental with them, the person then said that my option was a buy out of $1103 for a 9 year old water heater. That s ridiculous i said, the salesperson then tried to convince me that that was the market value of my water heater. After explaining to her that something that has a life expectancy of 10 years on average surely isn't worth $1103 after 9 years, but she insisted on it. After suggesting that I would just stop paying my bill, she told me the other options, $472 plus tax for removal by Reliance or I could just do all the work at no cost. She then tried to sell me service plus sewage protection plan. Shameless ! Changing to however comes first just so I can lift my middle finger to Reliance. read more

Every part of this company is a scam. The furnace salesman took two deposit checks from me and Ive made 5 calls trying to get my money back that was not applied to the cost of my furnace and it still hasn't been fixed. I asked for an invoice so that I could prove what had gone on and they did not provide an itemized invoice they just sent a mostly blank piece of paper with the word furnace and the wrong total written on it. The humidifier they installed has now leaked all over my basement after only 3 months. I made a call to have it repaired and they gave an appointment for tomorrow, when I called back to find out what equipment was coming to remove the water they not only could not tell me, but they gave me a sooner appointment meaning, the first person could have helped me faster and just randomly didnt. What do you think the odds are of getting my damaged carpet replaced? Since its been 3 months of me trying to take back the money their saleman stole and that hasnt occured? So while I wait (so far 45 minutes) for an answer to whether they are bringing industrial equipment to fix a flood or not, I am writing reviews of their scam online. If I write a lot, it's because I was on hold awhile. read more

I recently purchased a home where the sellers rented their furnace from here. Part of the deal was to take over their rental. Let me tell you was that an ordeal! They wouldn't give me any information until I began renting. It would be nice to know how much it would cost to buy out. Watch out for these guys. You are better off getting a loan from a bank or other finacial institution to buy a furnace you own. The sellers have literally paid 10,000 for the whole time they've been there in rental fees. That's the cost of four furnaces only to come out without even owning it, and the unit is 8 years old to boot. I'm waiting till my papers go through. They will find their furnace on the side of the curb... read more
