I was given a two-hour service window, and the technician called about 45 minutes beforehand to let me know he could arrive about 30 minutes early. He was friendly, professional, and understood that I was working under a time constraint. The technician diagnosed the problem within minutes, had the necessary part on his truck, and completed the repair in about 20 minutes--finishing before my scheduled service window even began. I originally left a 5-star review after paying $350 on April 9 to have a garage door spring…read morereplaced. Unfortunately, I have to update this review due to a poor follow-up experience. On April 20, the garage door became stuck because the cable came off the track. I reached out multiple times throughout the day and received no response. At that point, the warranty becomes meaningless if the company cannot be reached. I had another garage door company come out and paid for a second repair, to replace the now damaged cables. They confirmed that while the spring replacement itself was done correctly, the cables were not properly adjusted and the door was left imbalanced, which likely contributed to the failure. It was also why the opener was so much noisier after the spring replacement (I was told it was from excess wear on it from trying to lift the door without the spring). The opener is once again very quiet and the door is raising and lowering very smoothly and quietly. I understand that issues can happen, but lack of responsiveness--especially for something that can pose a safety risk and was most likely related to work just done --is unacceptable. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company nor would I use them again.

Recently, one of my garage door torsion springs broke. I probably wouldn't have noticed except that…read moremy usually quiet garage door opener started making all sorts of strained complaining noises. Garage doors are very heavy and the non-compensated load can quickly damage the gear, motor and roller pins. M&L was the first Yelp hit for garage door repair in Sugar Land and the one existing review seemed legitimate. I called them up and Mike dispatched someone immediately. Leo arrived, assessed the situation and performed the repair. I was back in business with a quiet garage door system in less than 1-1/2 hours from the initial call. I was interested in long-term reliability, so was willing to pay for more than the cheapest option. I replaced both the springs (after all, if one just broke, the other would shortly follow) with 2-5/8 x .218 x 28.5 steel torsion springs that were rated for 40,000 cycles and warrantied for 7 years. The springs cost me $250 for the pair. I also replaced all 10 rollers which were beginning to drag and stick with teflon rollers at $8/ea. With tax and labor, the whole bill came to just over $400. I was impressed with their transparency and knowledge and will call them again if I need another major garage door system repair. I suspect this fix will last longer than I'll be living here though.

About 10 minutes after I got off the phone with her, I got another phone call from a man who explained to me the cost of garage doors and said it would be best for someone to come out and measure my door to give me a more accurate quote for a new door. He basically rescheduled the appointment for the following morning and said that someone would call me 30 minutes ahead of time to let me know they were on their way. Fast forward to the following morning - I received no phone call and nobody showed up.
