What a relief it was to find First Call Garage Doors. I usually use Yelp to find local companies to use for services. We had used another company prior to finding First Call Garage Doors and after a bad experience with a different company I figured it was time to try someone new. I request a quote from three different garage door companies on Yelp. All prices from all (3) were roughly about the same which was a good indicator that the price was fair. I then like to look through the reviews and see what others are saying. In this case, I am also considering a new garage door for an improved aethestic in the future and I really liked the look of the ones First Call was installing. Sandra replied to me almost instantly with the quote which was nice that she was so responsive. When I decided to move forward, I called them late Sunday afternoon expecting to leave a message, but to my surprise Michael answered my call and scheduled an appointment for me the next morning between 9 and 10. Michael showed up promptly at 9am which was no small feat considering it was pouring rain outside. We went over the work and expectations and agreed that I needed to replace the two torsion springs. He finished the work in under 30 minutes including tuning up my garage. I could not be happier with First Call Garage doors! They are professional, reasonably priced, courtesous, on time and quick! Mike came out and did an excellent job. A power surge had fried the sensors on one door and had to be replaced. He also lubricated both doors (hinges and rollers), replaced the old key pad which hadn't worked since we moved in over 2 years ago, and programmed our car opener buttons to open the garage doors without the portable fob. We setup an appointment in a couple of hours and they actually called and arrived an hour early. It was determined that my sensors were bad and my springs were weak. WOW! I cannot say enough about this company and their prices, promptness, professionalism and quality of work. I started looking on Google for a garage door opener repairman and got to Yelp. I submitted my name and problem and then asked Yelp to send out to the companies they wanted to send the info to for quotations. I got four responses. two of which I could tell were "canned" auto-responses. I then got 4 quotes and First Call was, by far, the lowest and was, I could tell, more tailored to my specific problem. I called them and Michael answered and I told him when the GENIE unit came in that I had ordered, I was going to use them. He was happy. About two days later, I had a different problem on a rent house, so I called Michael and he immediately sent out his brother, Tony. Tony went right to work assessing the problem and recommended new wheels because the bearings on mine were shot. I do not know if I should say this but the quote was $180 and I only had $160.00 [times are tough]. They reduced their price without me asking and did the work. Not often you see that happen! The rent house garage door now operates smooth as a baby's bottom! Well, 3 days later, my part came in and, once again, Michael immediately when I called sent someone out.
