I've been having issues with the garage door keypad & one of the clickers. We have two. The keypad worked on and off the last two years and got progressively worse towards the end of 2025. One of the clickers works sometimes & sometimes it doesn't. It can be frustrating, especially when it's raining. I learned about Garage Door maintenance about five years ago. Once a year there's a service that comes out to evaluate the effectiveness of the bearings, lubrication, and hinges. They've been great and when they came out this year, I asked about anything the tech could do to help with the garage door keypad & clicker issues. I was told that they don't carry that brand and they couldn't help me but it needs to be replaced. I asked why the whole system needed replacing & the technician said it's old, & it's better to replace it now than something major happen. That sounded drastic to me & though that company had been helpful in the past, I wondered why hadn't this been brought to my attention before i asked about help with the keypad. So.. I did an internet search for another Garage Door Service company that services Marantec garage door openers & amongst the list , Ohana was one of them. I called the company, explained the issues and the Marantec name and the receptionist said she could have someone out to my home the next business day. This morning Drew arrived with a smile & a can do spirit. He explained that this is a European made model but he'll do his best to get the issue worked out. After a few minutes he explained the keypad & clickers needed replacing . He did so & all is well now. I was so excited he'd taken care of the issue I hugged him, lolol! He was a good sport about it & also showed me the wear & tear of the motor's chain. He said it may need to be replaced in a couple years but it's good to go , no need to replace it now. Drew was so pleasant & explained in detail each step being taken in terms I could understand. I'm definitely switching to Ohana for yearly garage door maintenance . 5th May 2021 My 20-year-old garage door had come off its rails. I had called 2 other local garage door companies and I did not receive a return call. So I did yet another search on the internet for yet another local company for my door repair. The third time is a charm! I called Ohana Garage Door and someone actually answered the phone. The nice lady on the other end of the phone immediately set up a service call for the next morning. I immediately received a text confirmation of the service call date and time. There was a dent in our door that we'd been told point blank by a different company could not be fixed and we'd have to replace it. We decided to get a second opinion before a full replacement. Nobody is thrilled to have to get service on a broken garage door, but I found these guys on ThumbTack and they came out to inspect it for free on a weekend. They showed up on time, explained the problems and what my options were. I ended up getting a torsion rebuild and replacement door openers. They set everything up when they were done (remotes, keypads, apps), and even swept my garage while they waited on me to inspect everything. The return of Extraordinary Customer Service! In a world where we can get accustomed to less than great ... this company, it's owner Mark, and it's team are a breath of fresh air. They responded promptly, they were ON TIME!, the really listened, they explained the process and gave me options on repairing my garage door opener. The price was so very reasonable and the equipment they had ready to go is top end. My GDO was put in by the builder, and although it was a good unit, the power outages during Harvey wiped it out. The wall mounted opener no longer worked and then the entire GDO stopped all together. I had been having problems for over 3 years. So when it finally died.. I was actually happy.
