I knew it wasn't our fault and it was an improper installation, otherwise it would've never fallen off the ceiling throughout the course of a regular roof installation, but homeowners don't know that, and technically, it was (Presumably) my men hammering that made the improperly installed cosmetic cover fall off.. (and of course it was 22 feet off of the ground on the highest voltage ceiling, you can imagine someone having).. I thought about doing it myself, but not only could that be considered a violation of my license, but in addition to that, I am not trained in handling fire suppression systems... Everything in me was thinking " I've been in skilled trades since 1991, there are very few things I don't know how to do, it's just a cosmetic cover, I'm sure I could just repair this and snap it back on." but then I thought to myself, "No, that's not right... how would I want another contractor to treat one of my family members ? ..the right thing to do by this client would be to hire and pay for the best, most reputable, licensed bonded, and insured fire suppression company I can find to take care of this the right way." So that's what I did... I got three bids from the three top rated companies... One of them was only about $70 parts tax labor out the door.. but I wasn't interested in a cheap price, I wanted the job done right- so contracted with Kerry and Firehouse. Reason I did that is because I wanted it done right, plus, I'm the best in my field, and if I'm going to send somebody into one of my clients houses, and they're going to be an ambassador for me, I want the best. Kerry did not disappoint... Everything was exactly as I would've expected from someone with his reputation. I was very pleased, and even my problem client was pleased. I went through Angie's List to find a dryer vent cleaner and Del from Arizona Vent Cleaning called…read moreme. I spoke with Del Glen about getting my dryer vent cleaned as I was getting an error message that indicated my dryer vent was clogged. He knew exactly what was wrong and scheduled for between 9 and 10am the next day. He also said they won't try to sell a bunch of services like other companies. They just do the requested job. So, 9am rolled around, 9:30, finally at 10 Del's brother Steve shows up to tell me that the job they are currently doing was running late and they won't finish and be at my house until 1pm. I had my afternoon planned out, and now I had to bust my backend to get done what I needed to do before 1:00. (If this was my business and I couldn't get a job finished which would inconvenience my next customer, I would tell then I have to come back to finish.) I rush home to be there by 1pm. So, 1:00 rolls around, 1:15, 1:20 and finally I call Del to find out why they are late. He responds by saying they are on their way. Steve arrives with his worker Callie (?) and Callie gets started right away. Immediately, Steve asks when I last had my air ducts cleaned. I don't know because I just moved into the house, and it was remodeled. He walks to my air vent, lowers the cover and says, "See?See all the dust?" I didn't see any but he must know what he's talking about. So he quotes me a price which wasn't something I could do right now, as I'm retired. Still, he kept at it, until I said OK. (So much for not trying to sell me additional services.) It's important to point out that Callie is hearing impaired, can't read lips, doesn't know ASL and can't read the written word. I only mention that Callie is hearing impaired because unbeknownst to either of us, Steve leaves. Callie finishes and he doesn't know that Steve left or where he went. I don't know either but I try to get him to understand that he is supposed to clean the air ducts. He doesn't understand me, I don't understand him. It's like we are speaking different languages and there is no way for me to communicate with this man. He's getting more and more frustrated so I offer him a glass of ice water, which he declines. Then he walks into my home and starts opening and closing my fridge, turning my water at the sink on and off, and I wondering what in the heck is going on. His frustration grows and I become fearful as I'm alone in the house with him. I call Del to explain this to him and he gets an attitude with me and says 'Steve only went to the hardware store. He'll be right back.' Fifteen minutes later Steve returns. I am beyond upset as I'm explaining what just happened. He gets an attitude with me, waves me off and says "we've been in business for 20 years and we've never had complaints." He goes on to say that he told Callie he was leaving, which Callie indicates he vehemently denies. Steve starts to yell at Callie which makes me very uncomfortable. I pat Callie's arm to indicate it's OK, I'm not upset with him. I tell Steve, "you left without letting anyone know, you leave me with a man with whom I cannot communicate, which frustrates both Callie and me." I told him to forget about the air ducts and pay him for just the dryer. And he says this: "I hope you won't hold this against us. We'll schedule for later to do you air ducts and you won't be disappointed." Not once did he or Del offer me any kind of financial compensation. In fact when I called Del after they left, he had the nerve to tell me to schedule the air duct cleaning and they will arrive on time and do a great job. Not until hell freezes over, dude. I've read through the reviews, and most of them are good. But the few that are not, had very similar experiences as I had. So, I'm sorry Del, but I will never, ever use you again and will tell all my friends, Yelp you and call Angie's list to complain as well.

We made the appointment where Alex was going to service our needs. We had a four hour window for the staff to visit. Alex texted us before arriving at the beginning of the four hour time. He wore protective shoe guards in the house. We explained the issue. Once the price was discussed and what was covered, we signed a contract. Alex got busy and told us to interrupt him if we had questions. He located the issue and fixed it in a timely manner. Not only was he professional, he entertained questions. He also provided a suggested work plan to consider. We will discuss that in detail before making a decision. The cost was high and the workmanship more than made up for it. We recently had an interior door replaced. I explained the situation to Response Crew and I was relieved to receive reassurances from the manager of Response Crew that he'd send one of his best door guys out and that we would not be disappointed. The manager also called back twice to make sure we were happy with the job. Although I missed those voice messages I figure posting about my experience here will make up for that.
