Dealer spoke with the owner and said he is disreputable, did not discuss work ahead, did not write down what he was going to repair as per NJ auto law and did not specify what he did on the paperwork. Then he left a bmw gauge in my car and asked that I mail it back to him, I did and think I should not have. Ripped off worse than poor workmanship, dishonest. The dealer said he should give a refund. He refused. Wish I had a heads up about this place. Had to pay three times over!

I've always gone to Motor Tech with my older cars and I've always gotten great service and value. Today (despite the departure of the mechanic that always did my work) I took the Infinity there to look at the three (!!!) lit-up idiot lights on my instrument cluster. I got there at 8:30 AM and I was assured they'd get to it today, despite a yard full of vehicles. The car was fixed by 3 PM after computer diagnosis found a bad camshaft sensor. The bill was extremely fair (only one hour's labor charge) and the part was not terribly costly either. These folks are the best mechanics on the North Shore and they're always courteous and fast. Highly recommended.

Recently was trying to head to Jersey to bring some things back from storage. Lo and behold a…read morethermostat going bonkers! Didn't make it very far on the freeway. Traffic looked ILL & I stopped off to get an oil change, and engine flush. The guy said I should definitely take my car to a mechanic and get it looked at, if the temperature doesn't go down. Next day I aspired to make the trip again. Same thing- the engine was still super Hot. So I stopped at the tire repair down the street, and asked for a referral for a good mechanic. One guy promptly dialed his cell phone and handed it over, saying "Here. Talk to my friend". So that's how I found Garjo. I drove to Garjo's, we lifted the hood, and he took a lookie loo. Being a girl, finding a trustworthy mechanic is perhaps a bit more difficult, and something to be cautious about. A bit clueless to mechanics et al, Garjo was super nice and honest about what he thought was the problem. I was scared about the bill and told him " I'm broke, and this doesn't help my situation." He was extremely accommodating, explained it might be the thermostat, but could also be the gasket. "Let's change the thermostat first, and then we'll go from there." Garjo made a phonecall, and the thermostat arrived. I sat there and watched-asking questions the entire time. He didn't seem to mind, much less flinch in explaining the tubes and parts, how they function together, etc., Thaaankfully it was only the thermostat, and I didn't blow a gasket. Garjo comes from a family of car mechanics; he picked up the trade from his father. He also has an auto body shop down the street. A super nice fellow from St. Vincent, he's an honest mechanic worth taking your sick car to! Thaaaaanks, Garjo!~

I can't vouch for Garjo's value as a mechanic, but don't go here to get welds done! The luggage rack on my motorcycle broke, and I took it here for a fix. The work was performed quickly, and when I got it back the weld was ugly, but I figured it would still be functional. It wasn't. three weeks and at most 200 miles later the weld is cracking. I have to get it fixed again, and it wont be at Garjo's. P.S. If you come here, be sure to bring cash, they don't take cards.
