For decades, I've diligently cared for my hair by taking vitamins, staying hydrated, eating a…read morebalanced diet, avoiding dyes, limiting washing, and using natural products, oils, and conditioners. My goal was long, thick hair, but genetics had other plans. After accepting this, I began searching for a stylist I could trust to create beautiful hair extensions. Over the years, I consulted several professionals but hesitated due to my wavy, curly, fine, and easily matted hair. I worried extensions would look unnatural or require a high-maintenance routine, which didn't suit my low-key style. ...Then I found May at May I Do Your Hair. From our first consultation, I was incredibly impressed by her expertise, personability, and genuine care for her clients' needs. May's mastery of multiple techniques and her focus on healthy hair stood out. She listened attentively to my concerns, offered knowledgeable advice, and set realistic expectations for maintenance and care. For my challenging hair, she recommended a combination of micro invisible K-tips and a hidden sewn-in row. The results are beyond incredible. I went to bed with the long, thick hair I've always dreamed of, and it feels as light as a feather with no discomfort whatsoever. The extensions move naturally, blend seamlessly, and allow me to style my hair in a ponytail, braid, or down without looking like I'm wearing extensions. The day after she placed my extension I went to a wedding and friends I hadn't seen in months thought my hair had simply grown. They were very surprised to hear I went for extensions.... I consider that a testament to May's exceptional skill. I'm thrilled with my decision to wait for someone as talented as May. These extensions are so natural and easy to wear that I can see myself keeping them for a long time. I highly recommend May to anyone seeking a transformative, high quality hair experience.

LOVE! Extensions are not only for length, but can be used for fullness!!!…read moreI reached out to May because I have a wedding coming up and didn't love how my first hair trial came out due to my fine hair leaving a lot of "empty space" when curled. I wasn't sure if extensions would do the trick, but May was so informative during my free consultation and recommended sewn-in beaded rows with 100% human hair genius wefts to help create a fuller look. She also recommended k tips for the front of my crown to add fullness to the thinner parts of my hair. Overall she did a fantastic job. She matched my hair so well when ordering the 100% human hair extensions that I didn't need any color adjustments, saving me time and money on future maintenance. I saw friends and family right after the install and they kept complimenting my hair. When I told them I got extensions they all said "I had no idea, they look so natural!" Throughout the whole process May was so respectful and thoughtful. She even sent me a form where I could let her know prior to the appointment how I would like the environment during the install. Questions like music taste, if I wanted to talk or relax in silence, and drink preferences. She made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. I highly recommend May for your extensions! I attached before and after pictures from the day of the instal (wearing off white sweater), but I also wanted to show the difference the extensions made from my first wedding hair trail (wearing white short sleeve) compared to my second (wearing red sweatshirt). After I got the extensions, it solved my problem of "empty space" and gave so much fullness! ***Please note that May did not style my hair during the wedding trials, but I only wanted to include the pictures for reference of what her extensions can do for your look!***

My review is based on my experience with Kirstie at Naked Waxing Spa…read more I did a quick Yelp search for "best wax" and Naked Waxing Spa was the first to pop up. Given the 5 stars I was immediately interested. Finding the salon was a little difficult as it is located behind the Cvs & Chipotle in Gaithersburg Square. My GPS kept telling me I had arrived when in fact I hadn't lol parking was also a pain as I had to loop around 3 times before someone finally left. I've been to the Symmetry Salon in Bethesda once before so I knew stylists had their own private space. I honestly prefer it over a loud, hectic salon. Your stylist can truly give you their undivided attention. This location also sells Balmain products. Super chic. You can help yourself to coffee, water and snacks while you wait. There is an ATM located inside as well just in case you forget cash to tip! All payments are made through your stylist not the front desk. I believe the receptionist is there to mostly direct clients and to book appointments. Kirstie was fantastic! I truly mean that. If you are looking for waxing, look no further and book an appointment today! She's friendly and professional. I will definitely be returning!

Review for BROW WOW THREADING ONLY. Absolute WORST threading /waxing I've ever recieved. It was so…read moregod damn painful. The woman who saw me (younger of the two) asked what I wanted, I responded and she started to work on my brows. From the second she put the thread on my skin it was painful and I felt like my eyebrows were being ripped off and bleeding. Later I saw that I did have a scar and bruise above my eyes. It felt like she was bitter and purposely putting all her anger into ripping my eyebrow hair out. That's how bad the pain was. Disclaimer here, I am from a similar area of the world where I also get my eyebrows threaded and NO, I am not some sissy person who is new to threading. My mother was a professional threader and I've had my eyebrows touched by BOTH novices and experts and I NEVER had any pain like this. I am very thick skinned and my pain tolerance is high but this threading stop in the salon run by these two Indian women....go somewhere else. I don't want to shit on the other salons in here and I will probably go here to try another salon but the threading...NO. Just full stop. She was rude too. I don't usually give a damn about that if you service me well. But the pain was too much to come back. And the result was mediocre. Not worth it for me to drive an hour for it.

I have gotten so many compliments on the haircut and color and am so in love. It came out EXACTLY like the picture. I love the fact that depending on how I move or where I am the color just shimmers and changes. My hair is also shiny and beautiful and doesn't look treated or damaged at all.
