Pocono Resorts Realty - Early Fall 2013

Very very weird. Non of the reviews are "recommended" - something wrong with the fabled "automatic"…read morescreening software. Well, Angie List will publish it! Have been renting in Blakeslee/Arrowhead Lake/Locust Lake area for 10 years. Never had a issue similar to this one below. Pocono Resorts Realty did nothing to address the issue. Were they dismissive? - oh yeah big time! Rented through Pocono Resorts Realty a house in Arrowhead Lake, PA for 7 weeks located at 10 Pontiac Path. Signed the contracts obviously. Contract indicated $80 cleaning fee. Few weeks after we vacated the premises, I got an e-mail from the real estate agent (Lori Botti) that "there were a few issues with your stay". And the main issue was that the owner decided to spent "over 7 hours to clean the house at $25/hr". $175. That is in addition to $80. We left the house in a normal state of cleanliness it should have been in after 7 weeks of use. Obviously, it was not cleaned to the state it was in prior to our arrival. No, I did not shampooed the carpets - never had it ever occurred to me to do so in 10 years of me renting houses in that area. No, I did not wash the freezer - never had it ever occurred to me to do so in 10 years of me renting houses in that area. I do not actually mind the cleaning fee in the contract to be higher originally. But the contract was signed with the $80 fee. I understand what the owner did though. He just made some extra cash by imagining $25/hr rate and multiplying it by 7 hours. Or he values his labor so-so much (this is Poconos not Manhattan) and does not employ a cleaning agency. I don't care - he did what he felt like doing, I'm sure he is proud of himself. Why I'm writing this? Because when I asked xxxx from Pocono Resorts Realty whether the contract means anything in regards to the cleaning fee debacle, she replied: "I did get a chance to review the pre check in sheet and there was no notation on there. So it is unfortunate". I quoted. That was the most unintelligent communication I ever received from any real estate agency. The contract really means nothing to Pocono Resorts Realty. The bottom line. If the owners are normal decent people, your experience with Pocono Resorts Realty will be ok. If the owners are money hungry not decent people, your experience will be not ok.

1 of 2 Our review in…read moresummary: Heather and Jeff Rickert present themselves as a team, but they do not work as one. We only met Jeff at the listing signing, probably because Jeff is a better salesmen and he knows that he is needed to secure a new listing. They are not good sellers' agents - in our situation it was very clear that they worked solely on behalf of the buyer. They offered little or no communication, and when they did communicate, it was only done on their terms. Heather does not conduct herself as a professional; she hung up on us when she did not like what we were saying, and she would not communicate with us afterwards. While in negotiations with a buyer, Heather cancelled a contract without calling us to discuss the situation first. For these reasons, and due to the stressful experience that we had while working with them, we would not recommend anyone use their services, especially as a sellers' agent. This review took a lot of effort and time from us and we are not negative review people, imagine our discontent... here are our detailed reasons for this review: In May 2017 we listed our house in Arrowhead Lakes with Heather and Jeff Rickert of Re/Max Realty. At that time they shared with us that a fair listing price for our property would be $117,000. After doing $5000 in upgrades to ready the property for sale, we decided to list our property for $95,500 (well below their estimation), by our own decision, in order to move the property quickly. We were aware that the garage roof needed replacing, so we decided on a lower listing price. With all in agreement, it was decided that any potential buyers would be made aware of the reason for the low listing price, and that the garage roof would not be a consideration in further price negotiations. During the process of selling the property the septic system came into question, as it was the 40 year old original system. After the first potential buyer stepped away from the purchase, we decided to replace the septic system at a cost of $3500, and we did not change the listing price. This, we felt, was yet another selling point for our real estate agent to use. A new buyer, who was also represented by Heather as the selling agent, presented us with an offer of our full asking price. We had a previously scheduled appointment for a showing to a different potential buyer, with a different agent, two days after the offer was received by us, but after discussing with Heather that her client loved our house at full price, she suggested that we cancel that upcoming appointment (we later learned that the appointment was not canceled in time, and after seeing the property, the potential buyer was disappointed that it was now under contract and they asked to be contacted if it fell through) and enter into a contract with her potential buyer. We had an opportunity for possible bidding "war" which could have resulted in us selling the property at a price higher than our asking price, but we were persuaded to go ahead with Heather's client's offer, as a gesture of good intent that we returned in good faith with the confidence that Heather gave us. During the process of the sale with Heather's client, through an email, we were asked to reduce our asking price with one of the reasons being due to the garage roof. We replied to the email with our negotiation suggestions. The buyer's response, which was, "Did you expect that I would pay full asking price?", was forwarded to us in an email from Heather. This was a direct contradiction to what Heather conveyed to us. Later that evening, we received a cancellation of contract email, with no prior call from Heather! We made multiple attempts to contact Heather through phone calls and emails in order to understand what was going on, but she would not reply. We did not receive any return phone calls or emails from her until later the next day. Days later, in a phone conversation where we were asked to reduce the selling price by an additional $7100, Heather hung up on us after we questioned her on how it was that she could so forcefully express to us the demands of the buyer, but she was not able to communicate to the buyer all that we had done to provide a great purchase for her. We tried to reach out to Jeff after this hang up from Heather, but he never answered or returned our call. Heather would only communicate via text or email after that incident, until she was ready to talk on her terms.....
