This was the most horrible experience I've ever had at a salon/spa. I was assured that I would get a refund if the service was bad. I regret even going in there because I had my head bitten off! The lady who did my waxing had the wax too hot and it ended up burning my skin, making it peel, and it caused blisters on my skin. I asked her to turn the heat down/off more than 5 times. She would blow on the wax once and then forget. When I got home I noticed she had missed some spots so I went back only to not be acknowledged for 20 min. Yes they had customers, but you still acknowledge every customer that walks into your store. It's the "Golden Rule" of customer service! Their customers noticed me before they did. The only time they noticed that I was even there was when my boyfriend came in to see why I was taking so long! It was the manager this time that attempted to finish the job, and she used one of those roll on wax bottles which no salon should ever use because it pulls at the skin and the wax is more sticky. She ended up bruising my arm. I had to go to work that evening and my friends even noticed the burn marks and blisters on my arms. It was embarrassing because I had to be on camera wearing short sleeves. When I went in the next day for the refund I was promised for bad service, I had the employee push me and pull at my clothes saying that I already had bad skin and that she didn't cause the blisters on my skin, and I had the manager yell at me and say I was taking advantage of her. Apparently, this employee named Hana was certified at Blache Macdonald and she didn't know the difference between a pimple and an old acne scar or a mosquito bite because she also said I had pimples all over my face. I had a mosquito bite under my eye. She also didn't know how to wax because she pulled the wax strip in the same way the hair grows, it's supposed to be the opposite way. That's why I had hair left on my arms plus the areas she didn't even go over. On top of all the yelling, the door was open so everyone could hear. When a customer walked in for a haircut then they were both nice. When I mentioned that they were being nice because of him the manager, Helen, shouted and I quote her "You think I care about him?! I speak my mind, it doesn't matter who it is!" I'm surprised he stayed for the haircut, maybe he didn't hear her insult him. I WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! because they don't know what they're doing, and they only care about money, not their customers. They're rude and they'll insult you, and even get violent if you ask them to honour their word and give you a refund for bad service. read more
