I saw him in February 2025 for an extraction. He put me to sleep and gave me lidocaine even though they assured me they would not as I have had reactions to it in the past. Upon awakening he bragged to me that he gave me lidocaine and nothing happened. On top of this he did not remove my tooth completely. He treated me horribly, as I experienced issues postop, that were ignored. Now the tooth is spreading decay to both surrounding teeth. read more

I was referred here for a biopsy. He refused to perform the biopsy, refused to prescribe antibiotics, and (rudely) told me that the infection would clear up on its own. Once the infection cleared up and I scheduled an appointment with my regular dentist to have a tooth extraction, he refused to clear me, saying that he needed to do a follow up and a biopsy. He offered me no care the first time, I'm not coming back for seconds of his rude demeanor. Now, I am not able to get a simple tooth extraction because this man has gone out of his way to ensure that I do not receive care. Avoid this office at all costs! read more

I have gotten over 8 teeth removed in my lifetime without anesthesia and never have I ever had such an awful experience. i have a huge hole in my arm from the IV, I have ulcers/cold sores in my throat, stitches poking every corner or my mouth, and chucks of skin over my wounds. I'm on day 2 and was told day 3 and 4 would be the worst. I wasn't told there was any chance of ulcers and the worst would be swelling but that's the least of it. I am now traumatized towards getting any work done ever again. Not to mention his awful comments and the uncomfortable feeling I got being around him. But at least i got Tylenol and penicillin which has done absolutely nothing. read more

Without a doubt, my experience with Alan Reisman was one of the most helpful that I have ever had working with a medical/ oral health professional. I am immunocompromised and am facing multiple dental procedures involving three different professionals, an oral surgeon, (Dr. Reisman), an orthodontist and a dentist. My situation is such that I need help navigating my health condition with the timeline of multiple procedures that I need, along with the financial aspect of my situation, as my dental insurance doesn't really cover much. Dr. Reisman went above and beyond by spending his time coordinating with the other doctors. In so doing, he was able to figure out what procedures I truly need whilst prioritizing my health condition, and finances. I found Dr. Reisman to be extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for excellent care. read more

I am reading reviews I don't understand. I originally picked Dr. Reisman because my daughter had gone to him, and he performed something that was tricky. He did a superb job. My son in law went to him with gum stuff, and likewise a very good job. He extracted a tooth for me. He took a lot of extra time because he knew I was uncertain. I could tell he doesn't extract easily. When talking to friends, I discovered 4 others had gone to him and been extremely satisfied with what he did. One was the family next door. The young child was really upset to go; my neighbor said he quickly took the tooth out, and the boy couldn't believe it was out already, and thought he was kidding. ALSO, the office staff is phenomenal. Janet, the receptionist, is extremely helpful, and Darby did a great job assisting Dr. Reisman. I have to think the low ratings speak to there was something else going on. read more

One of the worst and most painful experiences of my life. The pain was intense, unrelenting and excruciating and it was caused by Dr. Reisman. There is a pending complaint against Dr. Reisman with The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Case No: 2021-566, for fraudulent billing of patients, Medicaid and Delta Dental. If you don't want to be lied to, not undergo extremely painful procedures, not be financially exploited or have your insurance ripped off then avoid Dr. Reisman. read more

Dr. Reisman was supposed to remove 4 of my sons wisdom teeth. Instead, one of the upper molars was pushed entirely into his sinus cavity. In a phone call the following day he refused to answer my questions about the risks of having a displaced tooth whose location was at the time unknown, the risks of delayed treatment, and the specifics about a procedure to resolve the situation. He was verbally abusive, negligent and dismissive. He is at the very least a dentist with poor beside manner, and possibly even a negligent, unskilled surgeon based on my son's experience. I called a different oral surgeon's office (Dr. Kang) and in 10 minutes he was able to explain everything I needed to know about this circumstance and how we can resolve it. The staff was very attentive and kind so I am not sure what the other reviews were about but my experience with the office was a truly positive one with normal doctor's office wait times! Leaving another review here as I have just finished up multiple surgeries with Dr. Reisman over a 2-year period (cyst removal, bone graft, implant). Everything went perfectly; Dr. Reisman has made my small list of doctors whom I can recommend in this area. I like the staff here, and Dr. Reisman himself is also very friendly and easy to deal with. However - most importantly, you're getting a highly competent and careful surgeon. I received multiple opinions before I went with Reisman; where other surgeons might recommend additional procedures and aggressive sedation, Reisman's strategy is more conservative. The pricing is also very fair when compared with local and national averages for each procedure. Post-op exams and multiple additional 3D scans were all included in a single price for each procedure. Medical and legal professionals are a mixed bag in this part of the country. Do your research and you'll find the good ones. read more

This was by far the most unprofessional and disappointing interaction that I've ever had with a medical professional. During my appointment, Dr. Reisman left no less than 10 times asking "is it ok if I got check on X, Y, Z" patient. I didn't mind, as long as I had the opportunity to have a quality conversation regarding my own situation. That never happened. Instead, Dr. Reisman popped in and out occasionally to say things like "4 out of 5 dentists wouldn't touch your mouth - but I'll do it." Or, "It's very possible we'll expose your sinus - but hey, when you drink water it'll come out your nose which will be cool party trick." And finally, "we'll probably hit your nerve which will result in permanent numbness in your lip and bottom teeth." I of course want a Doctor to be honest with me, but this extremely dismissive and rude appointment made it clear that making jokes is Dr. Reisman's MO and not having quality conversations with his patients. The kicker was when he told me I should come back for another consultation (yeah right, as if I'd come back) so that my partner could make the decision on whether or not to have my tooth pulled for me because "they'd be the one that would have to live with my permanent numbness." That sentence was incredibly rude, dismissive, and sexist all rolled into one. At no point during this "appointment" did he explain the risks or do anything to help me understand the surgery. Everything was explained to us in detail and all our 100+ questions were answered. This was a huge decision for my mom and Dr. Reisman and his office were very helpful. His nurses were delightful. Be careful coming close to this business. I live in the apartments right behind and this is one of my normal walking routes with my dog. I happen to be walking by this morning (Saturday March 12th) just like any other day and I heard a loud bark come from inside. Next thing I know this huge Rottweiler comes busting through the door trying to attack me and my dog. In the process of getting away this dog bite me (didn't break skin). Last thing I want to do is call animal control and have something happen to the dog. I don't feel as though it was the dogs fault more on the side of poor ownership. My husband, John, came to Dr. Reisman to have his lower teeth removed in preparation for an prosthetic implant. Dr. Reisman was very understanding of my husband's fear of dentists and made him comfortable at each visit. The follow up care was excellent and when my husband had to have another sore tooth extracted at the last minute, Dr. Reisman squeezes him in within the hour. I arrived early for my appointment, which was scheduled at 1:15. The staff was friendly, took x-rays, put me into the room to wait for the doctor. at 1:25, was informed that he would be back from lunch at 1:30. At 1:45 was told that he hadn't returned from lunch yet. When called by his staff, he said he hit traffic, but hadn't said when he would return. At 1:50, I left the room to talk to the staff who was on the phone with the doctor. At this point he said that he would be over 5 minutes longer so I left. No apologies by the doctor or explanations about why he was late. Will not go back. read more

Many years ago I visited Dr. Alan Reisman for a consultation and ultimate molar extraction. Never any fun, right? Wrong. I was immediately put at ease by him and his staff, who had me feeling totally relaxed and even smiling ... and before I knew it Dr. Alan's capable hands quickly and easily removed my tooth. Then, in late 2019, I needed to have a wisdom tooth removed. Once again, it was a positive experience, the extraction was quick and easy, and there was absolutely no pain afterward as the gum healed. Our daughter who has braces was referred out for multiple extractions (8) which would require oral surgery. We looked past some of the negative reviews of Dr. Reisman on yelp in order to make up our own minds. Our experience with Dr. Alan Reisman, DDS started out good over the telephone, but once we showed up at the office for a consult was quickly turned negative. We showed up a couple of minutes late due to traffic and construction in Louisville, but had all of our paperwork filled out and in hand only to find that the door was locked and shades drawn at 4:33pm! We knocked on the glass for several minutes with no answer even though we could see the staff inside. Finally we called and the young girl who answered was rude and basically told us to leave, and that we would have to reschedule! We pointed out that we had driven 15 miles to get here and had surgery scheduled for Friday - this was the only day we had available for the consult, and asked her to come to the door so we could talk to her face-to-face. She came and unlocked the door to talk still blocking our entry reminding us that they lock their doors at 4:45pm - we pointed out that it wasn't 4:45pm yet and she reluctantly let us enter the office. Once inside it only got worse, they couldn't find any of the referral information that had been sent via email days earlier (including some HIPPA specific files), insisted that we should go ahead and get another set of X-rays since they couldn't find the ones sent and wanted to go home, and just continued with the rudeness that started with the receptionist (or whatever her role is). The only bright spot was when the only helpful person on the staff offered to let me help her search their Qwest based email to find the referral email, unfortunately the interface on this older email system was dated and not useful for finding what we needed. When we realized that this Dr. had surrounded himself with a staff that was inept, rude, and only cared about getting out for the day - we cancelled the scheduled surgery and chose to find an Oral Surgeon with a more professional and competent staff. It was unfortunate that the actions of the staff actually prevented us from seeing this Dentist, but we've seen this before and didn't want to put our daughter at risk. There were other minor things, no reminder call or email, poor turn-around on calls to the office, etc. For the record this is my first negative post on Yelp and it's done with the hope that this Dentist can turn things around and hire or train a professional team to support his practice. read more

I had a fully erupted wisdom tooth extracted with Dr. Reisman. The whole process was uncomplicated and I appreciated his office staff's transparency and helpfulness dealing with insurance changes between my initial consultation and the actual procedure. I was pretty anxious for the procedure, but Dr. Reisman and his staff made me feel more relaxed- I got to pick the music and they told me stories to distract me! Having the procedure before the weekend also made me anxious, but Dr. Reisman told me I could call at any time after the procedure if I needed help. I did not, but Dr. Reisman personally called me Sunday night to make sure everything was going well! I felt like I was in good hands throughout the procedure. read more

If there was a way to rank negative stars, I would give the absolute lowest rank possible. This man ruined my life. Almost a decade later, and I am on my way to an oral surgeon today to still deal with the painful aftermath of this completely unskilled surgeon's mess. As a result of a "routine" wisdom tooth extraction from "Dr" Reisman, I almost died. He left a large piece of bone behind, refused to listen to my pleas for help and resolution. When I was finally emergently admitted to the hospital (despite his rude refusal to do so), I was almost septic. I spent 65 days in the hospital with multiple surgeries and infectious disease treatments. My jaw was almost completely destroyed by osteomyelitis, had to be wired shut and I lived with a PICC line inserted for months after being discharged from the hospital as well. To really ice the cake, I found out through discovery that this same "Dr" over anesthesized a child in his chair and KILLED him! How he still has his license to practice is beyond me. Please, please DO NOT seek treament from Alan Reisman. read more

I went in to have surgery removing my wisdom teeth and from the get-go the receptionist was pretty rude. After surgery i moved to another state and i had an infection happen, tried to be in contact with their office, so did the new dentist and he really wasn't helpful or eager to return my messages. overall- i now have to go back in to have the infected area cut open again to remove a piece of the root from my wisdom tooth that was left behind causing infection. read more

Dr. Reisman was friendly enough; however, I found his two assistants to be poor listeners, disrepectful and argumentative. I did not get the sense that the patient was the most important person in the room. They took an extensive medical history and then disregarded the information. Let's face it, no one looks forward to getting their wisdom teeth out, but given that it was necessary for my teenage son, we could not have had a better experience than we had with Dr. Reisman. The consultation went smoothly and Dr. Reisman explained the surgery, sedation, and expected recovery, as well as alternatives. Rather than having to wait for our dentist to fax x-rays, they took another set in the office with an x-ray machine that seemed much more advanced than the one at our dentist office. We went ahead and scheduled the surgery for two weeks later and Dr. Reisman sent us home with all the necessary prescriptions we would need as well as pre-op instructions. On the day of the surgery, my son got up at 6 AM to have his last food and water, then as instructed abstained from eating and drinking for the next six hours. But then, unfortunately, 20 minutes before we left for the appointment, he saw chocolate milk on the counter and took a few swigs, momentarily forgetting the "no food or drink" rule. We were both fairly horrified as this surgery is a pretty big deal and my son had both done the mental and physical preparation, now we didn't know what to do. We called the office, confessed about the chocolate milk, and they explained that we could either cancel and reschedule the surgery, or do it with sedation and local anesthesia but without general anesthesia. My son was nervous, but he did not want to put it off until a later date, so he hesitantly decided to give it a go without general anesthesia. So, we went to the office, and even though we "blew it" and felt terrible about that, Dr. Reisman and his staff were extremely kind and accommodating. He sat my son down, calmly went over options, and we decided to reschedule the surgery as my son was too scared/ anxious to proceed without anesthesia. On the day of the rescheduled surgery, everything went extremely smoothly. The surgery itself took less than a half hour and we were in and out of the office in about an hour. The nurses were wonderful. My son had no pain at all the day of surgery, and the recovery period was just as explained/predicted. Swelling was minimal and the pain was very manageable. Dr. Reisman called the next day to check up and see how recovery was going. All in all our experience with Dr. Reisman was fantastic and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs oral surgery. My two other teenage sons also need to have their wisdom teeth extracted and when the time comes we will definitely be returning to Dr. Reisman! read more

People are more likely to write a bad review than a good review...Well here is a good one that you must read! My daughter had in-office surgery with Dr Reisman and I was more than pleased. He and his staff were patient, kind, and respectful to all of us. They let me stay in the room with her during her surgery and hold her hand the whole time. The part that impressed me the most was Dr. Reisman's desire to truly wait for my daughter to me numb enough to start the procedure. After her injected her, he would come back every 5 minutes to make sure it was enough. His patience was unbelievable because it took awhile for my daughter to truly be numb. Although she had valium and nitrous, he still waited for her to be good and ready. She was very comfortable with him and trusted him to do what he needed to do, but he impressed her even more because it was nearly painless. Macy and I thank you Dr. Reisman! read more

I am so thankful for Dr Reisman and his staff ! Over this past weekend , I had major pain with my wisdom teeth. I called a few emergency dentist offices on sudnay, did not get a single call back until monday afternoon . Monday morning I was desperate , reached out to another dental office, told me they didn't have an available appointment for another 2 weeks. She recommended that I call an oral surgeon as I probably needed my wisdom teeth extracted . This is when I got in touch with Dr. Reisman . They got me in for a consultation within the hour, and when he saw the severity of the issue, scheduled a surgery the next morning that he came in early for ! I do not have dental insurance, they were easy to work with for my payments . My only negative is that I wish he had a day to day dentist instead of being oral surgery only ! If he did, I would have found my new dentist :) Really convenient location, friendly staff, answered all of my questions along with throwing in a few jokes. It has been almost 10 hours since my surgery , the swelling is mimimal, I am able to talk, eat (soft foods of course) and drink. Pain is nothing in comparison to what I felt this weekend.
