This place is AMAZING!! I've never seen so many children going in HAPPY and leaving HAPPY!…read more(Including my own) The environment itself is a wonderland of VERY recognizable cartoon props, interactive play areas, movies (not to loud either!) and pleasant distractions for the kids (and fun loving grown ups) The hygienist are wonderful! When they receive the children they are welcoming and kind. When they are working on the Patient they are calm and engaged w/the children. Upon checking out those same hygienist are great with parents reviewing any needs or prevention practices. From beginning to end we have had great experiences at ABC dental. I recommend them to family and friends all the time!

Dear Doctor Singer, I am writing to respectfully request an…read moreexception to your usual policy regarding parental presence during dental procedures. My 4-year-old daughter will be undergoing cavity prep work, and I strongly feel that my being in the room will help comfort and reassure her throughout the process. As her parent, I believe my presence is crucial to her emotional well-being during what can be a stressful, first-time experience. While I was explaining my concerns to the hygenist in the room - Emily, I believe - she said that I was welcome to have the procedure done elsewhere. It was disappointing to be dismissed in such a manner and then to hear the "this is our office policy" as a standard response. I want to find a solution that puts my daughter's needs first. I also want to outline that, as a parent, I am not comfortable having my daughter in a room with strangers while she is semi-conscious. I work in a field where we tell parents NOT to allow their children to be in a room with adults they do not know. Thank you for your understanding and consideration. *Dr. Singer called within a few hours to explain why they dont allow a parent in the room at all. It's BS. Please accept this email as formal notification of Stella's termination of her relationship with ABC Children's Dentistry. For context, I shared my experience on social media, and the platform's power did not disappoint. I received overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and even strangers who all agreed that your "office policy" on procedures is absurd. Parents and people without children alike continued to share my story. I also received the names of six dentists who not only permit but also encourage a parent to be present with their child at any age. Since I was advised that I could "have the procedure done somewhere else," that's what I am doing.

When we went into the room, they gently brushed his teeth while singing the ABCs he absolutely loved it since it's one of his favorite songs. To top it all off, they gave him a balloon at the end. My son couldn't have left the dentist any happier!

My 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son were patients of Dr. Jenny. The office is clean and modern, and my wife and I were happy to support a local business that was well suited towards the young parents of Fishtown & Northern Liberties. Last summer my daughter was diagnosed by Dr. Jenny with cavities. My daughter & wife trusted Dr. Jenny and were ensured that Dr. Jenny would personally handle the 3 treatments that would be needed to rectify the problem. However, after the first procedure, because The Children's Tooth Spa is rapidly expanding and Dr. Jenny was distracted, a new dentist/hygienist was used for the 2nd and 3rd treatments, upsetting my daughter and my wife. But most egregiously, the third treatment involved inserting a solid metal silver crown into my daughter's mouth that neither me nor my wife was ever made aware would be so visible in her beautiful smile. When I first found out about this I was, I think justifiably, furious. It should have been made clear to us that the metal crown was going to be so visible. I have since come to learn that these metal crowns are pretty common in children's dentistry, and my daughter's smile is still ever beautiful, and so I have calmed down a bit. But it should have been made abundantly clear to us that the crown was going to be visible, and there should have been consent from both parents beforehand. I subsequently called the Children's Tooth Spa and left a voicemail. When Dr. Jenny called me back we had a 45 minute conversation over which Dr. Jenny was extremely defensive and exhibited really bizarre delusions of grandeur. Even still, after our call Dr. Jenny did call us back to further explain and offer potential resolutions. This was followed by a snarky delusional email a few weeks later accusing me of being "abusive" towards Dr. Jenny & her staff, a bizarre claim since I had only called her office looking to follow up from my voicemail and Dr. Jenny had called me back twice, even after our long form conversation. I am not sure why Dr. Jenny would call me back if she had felt that her or her staff had been disrespected. I think, bottom line, any medical practice, especially one that takes care of little kids, that would let the relationship between doctor, patient, and the patient's loved ones break down so catastrophically should not be in practice. The Children's ToothSpa was much more interested in expansion than taking care of my kids. We have since switched to Cobblestone Kids and have had a much more pleasant & normal experience.

Let me start by saying i REALLY liked this place. After 13 years without a dental visit- I came to…read morefresh smiles upon recommendation of a coworker, who had been going here for years. My initial visit went well- I provided my insurance information and was provided a treatment plan detailing my costs- perfect! I was informed I would need a deep cleaning- which would need to happen in 2 sessions. I went to my first appointment early december and paid the amount outlined in the treatment plan. Easy peasy. TWO weeks later, on the eve of my 2nd deep cleaning session (and less than 15 hours before my appointment)- I received an appointment confirmation call. At the end of the call the receptionist CASUALLY mentions something about my insurance not being in network anymore and how I would now need to pay $700+ out of pocket. Girl, how are you going to call someone and drop that bomb on them 5 days before christmas? Needless to say, I cancelled the appointment and emailed them to get a more detailed explanation. Except I never got one. Instead, I received the least professional response I've ever gotten (see attached). I do not blame fresh smiles for my insurance *seemingly nowhere within a 2 week time frame deciding their office was OON* however, i DO blame them for piss poor communication. So now i sit, dentistless with half my mouth cleaned. Please be warned that while this dentist office has some of THE sweetest hygienists, and a great atmosphere, the communication here is absolute garbage between patients and their front office. Please do better!

Dr. Bower and his team have always been so welcoming and kind, as well as professional and thorough.
