Because they don't get the pregnancy results the same day This place makes up their own rules and hours and their not for helping woman at all . I personally never experienced wait times of an hour, and can attest to the level of professionalism and compassion she puts into her work. My pregnancy was initially "normal" and although our routine visits were short, she was always cordial and thorough. During my 20 week anatomy scan at the hospital, I was diagnosed with cervical incompetence and told by the MFM doctor that I was already 2 cm dilated with bulging membranes, who recommended termination. Upon hearing the worst news of my life, my husband and I went to follow up with Dr Cheung. From that point on, Dr Cheung became our guardian angel. She supported our decision to continue the pregnancy and checked up with me frequently. When I was hospitalized for over a month she would routinely come see me and check the baby despite her having residents that could do the work for her. No other OBs came to visit their patients on the unit unless necessary. Even the L&D nurses and mother-baby nurses sang her praises and many used her as an OB. To make a long story short, my beautiful newborn son is here thanks to her, and for anyone considering an OB that truly loves her job and goes above and beyond, Cindy Cheung is that doctor. I would wait for 10 hours if it meant having her as a doctor again. On a side note, to address some of the other reviews, I believe that she asks husbands/ partners to come in later so that the mother has a private space to discuss any fears, concerns or issues without having the partner's interference. As a woman, I can see how that can be beneficial to women who are in certain relationships. She always allows the husbands/ partners come in after the initial first 5 minutes or so, and I don't see why that should bother someone so drastically.

When I expressed that I wasn't comfortable yet due to my inexperience, I felt judged and was spoken to in a way that felt scolding rather than supportive. It was especially uncomfortable because there was another person in the room who was never introduced, so I didn't know if they were assisting or observing. Overall, the experience made me feel very uncomfortable and violated. I ended up crying after I left because it did not feel like a safe or respectful environment. I would not recommend this place.

This man is a MONSTER!!!!!!…read more I waited more than 2 hours for my appointment at the Great Neck location, which is the worst gynecologist office, with the rudest staff I've ever experienced. After they called me in, the technician/nurse asked me if I was sexually active, and when I disclosed I wasn't because I'm a virgin, she commented, "Oh, you're not missing much anyway." After waiting for Dr. Stavros Lazarou to examine me and meeting me for the very first time, his very first comment after looking at my chart was, "Don't have children, you have too many health issues," which I had no intention of exploring with him, and found that comment to be extremely dismissive and insulting. When he proceeded with the pap smear, he used a device that caused me to feel excruciating pain! I was yelling ouch, and he would just say, "Open your legs wider and bring your body down more!" I told him, "It really hurts!" to which he replied, "Why didn't you tell me you are a virgin?!" At this point I was in so much physical pain, and now emotional pain because of this heartless monster! I was thinking, shouldn't his judgmental and rude nurse have relayed the message to him that I am a virgin and shouldn't he have used the appropriate equipment to examine me in order to give me a pap smear?! After he finished, he got up from his stool, told me passively and unenthusiastically, "Nice to meet you" and walked out while I was still naked, with my legs still in the foot stirrups! He didn't once say, okay you can get up and put your clothes back on, and I'm sorry it was so painful. NOTHING. When I left that office, I went home crying completely devastated, and to add insult to injury, I noticed I was bleeding when I got home because of him! I called the office, and his advice was if the bleeding continues, go to the ER. This whole ordeal happened probably 2-3 years ago, and I didn't think to write a review at the time because I just figured I would find a better doctor and leave this experience in the past and behind me, but it wasn't until I became intimate with my partner that I became triggered by this trauma because that was what it was - a trauma. Dr. Stavros Lazarou traumatized me! He violated me, abandoned me when I was most vulnerable, and thought nothing of it. He is a monster and I'm writing this review so that hopefully another person doesn't have to go through this horrible experience that has now scarred me for life. No apology can undo what this monster did to me.

Today was my first time seeing Damilola. I came in to have fibroids checked. The tech did the ultrasound giving me a play-by-play of what she was doing and why. Damilola came in shortly after. Her temperment was very calming. She introduced herself and explained my results, answered my question and expressed care for other health issues I'm currently navigating. Overall, she was very culturally responsive and that's huge for me as a black woman. Viva Eve is a 10/10 for me. Love it here!

I visited this practice over a year ago to confirm a pregnancy. Since it was very early, the doctor…read moreasked me to come in multiple times over the next two weeks to "confirm" the pregnancy, which seemed excessive. Each visit included a urine test, internal and external sonograms -- all of which felt more like requirements than options. It quickly became clear that they try to schedule as many appointments as possible, likely to bill more. Even after my pregnancy was confirmed, they kept asking me to return -- sometimes every other week -- for unnecessary follow-ups. Each visit involved at least an hour-long wait. I was initially told the practice was in-network with my insurance. However, after a few visits, I started receiving unexpectedly high bills. I was then informed I needed to sign over the insurance reimbursement checks directly to them. I did this for a few visits, but eventually stopped going because it felt like they were more focused on billing than care. Even after providing them with all the checks I received, I'm still being sent bills. I contacted their billing department multiple times -- first in November, when they told me it was just an automated message and not to worry, and now again, only to be told I need to contact my insurance and have the checks reissued. Save yourself the stress and go with another practice. This one has been nothing but a hassle.
