I'm working for a company that resides in the SPACES Calabasas location. I love the combination of maple, steel, and glass with colorful accent materials reserved for upholstery and art. Whatever space you need SPACES will provide. The common areas share an open floor plan with complimentary teas and Peet's or Starbucks coffees for $1. Lots of ice!!! Filtered water. Need to keep your favorite drink cold? Pop it in the fridge! WiFi is strong. There is a central printer with staplers and paper clips. Key fobs and access cards give you the sense of privacy and security. If you become a Gold Member, you'll have access to all SPACES locations across the planet. What would be nice is a once a week/month gathering during happy hour for anyone that wants to mingle with neighbors. Beverages and finger foods provided. What a concept. read more

This place is a SCAM. The "lease agreement" is just a one page invoice with 0 details about the lease. I accidentally signed up for a 24 month lease when I thought I was doing month to month and immediately called them to rectify. They said "too bad you made a mistake but we are still charging you for 24 months." I blocked all transfers from my bank and now they're threatening legal action. Now I know why they aren't accredited with the Better Business Bureau and why they have an "F" rating. AVOID THESE SCAM ARTISTS. read more

Today was the first time i've step foot into the Calabasas spaces. I was impressed when i first walked into the main entrance, but come to find out it was across the building (campus) and the square footage was rather small. This was nothing like the Hollywood Spaces. No coffee barista, not many places to sit...I think they need to expand to attract more talent and other possible candidates. I would maybe visit on a slow slow day, but otherwise it was shocking how small the location was. They definitely have the ability to scale as the whole building seemed to be empty otherwise. Lots of room for growth, and hope they're able to do that here. I didn't find it to be noisy at all, as some had mentioned below. I will have to visit again in the near future maybe early morning to see how it's looking, but they do have an amazing outdoor area, i also didn't see a gym that someone had mentioned. It would've been great to have a tour around the building, but it appeared all there had been was a room a little bigger than the upper level of my home. If I could give Spaces a negative number of stars, I would. The space is pleasant, and the staff working there are pleasant and professional. I signed up for a month-to-month agreement, and ended up not using it as much as I thought I would. I attempted to cancel my agreement, and then the troubles began. I tried to cancel using their online portal, but it told me my cancellation would be effective in 2023. That is obviously not acceptable. I have a month-to-month agreement, not a four-year lease. I called their 800 number and was told that they had no idea what was going on, they would investigate and call me back. I never heard back. Two weeks later I called the 800 number again, and was told that I had to call the local office (Spaces) to cancel. They would not transfer the call, or provide any other assistance. I called the local office, who told me they couldn't help, but transferred me to the help desk again. Because I told the local manager what had happened, she stayed on the line. The help desk operator talked over me and rudely refused to listen to my explanation, insisting that I could cancel online. Then she used "high call volume" as an excuse for poor service. No doubt the call volume is high if people have to call multiple times to get something done! I'm now waiting for a callback giving me a resolution, which they have promised within 48 business hours. I'll update this review when and if the situation is resolved. So the physical space and the local people are great, but their corporate parent is Regus, and dealing with them has been a horrible nightmare. I will never consider being a customer of theirs again, and I recommend no one else do so either. Update January 29, 2019: Of course nobody contacted me. The MyRegus portal does show my membership valid until February 28, 2019 (an improvement from 2023!), but that does not answer the question of whether I'll be billed for February. I tried calling the local manager, but the number in her email footer goes to the corporate office, who have never heard of her. They gave me a direct number to Spaces Calabasas, and someone picked up the phone and hung up immediately, or their phone system is broken. I then called the account helpdesk and waited 10 minutes for someone to answer before the call was disconnected. I guess if they bill me again I'll do a credit-card chargeback. Or take them to small claims court. Do not do business with Spaces or Regus if you can possibly avoid it! They should rename this location REVERBERATING SPACES or maybe VERY NOISY SPACES. The noise level is absolutely horrendous. It would be possible to fix this problem, but that would cost money and I doubt they would actually take my suggestions, so I wrote my review here on Yelp rather than raise my concerns to site management. It could also be called FISHBOWL SPACES. OVERVIEW ========== SPACES caters to three different kinds of clients: 1) COMMON AREAS: People who want some kind of upgrade from working in Starbucks, or at the local library about $30/day (or whatever they're charging), maybe less depending on the promotion. Office hours 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. 2) "DAY OFFICES:" People who have the Offices Unlimited subscription (through Regus). Office hours 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM 3) FULL-TIME TENANTS: Tenants with 6 - 24 month lease. 24/7 access. I have access to the SPACES through my Regus "Offices Unlimited" subscription. This service allows me to have a "day office" every day of the month, but there's a limit of 10 days/month at any one location. PROS ======= STYLING: If you like the styling of WeWork, you might like SPACES as it has a very similar aesthetic. Unfortunately, if you buy into the LOOK of the place, you might find that was not the best criteria to rely on. FREE PARKING (as of this writing): That might change in the future. Currently SPACES uses up a small fraction of the entire campus, much of which is empty. As new, big-fish tenants move in, then parking could become impacted and the parking policy might change. There's a guard shack which is manned. LARGE COURTYARD, WiFi throughout the campus, some other places to chill and a grassy area if you want to kick a soccer ball around and so forth. A basic gym & locker room with showers (if you're a full-time tenant). Two kitchen areas. These are relatively nice. One of them has some bar-stool style seating. Nice views from many of the offices. Private phone booths. CONS ======= I would like to leave a more favorable review, but I can't do that in good conscience. LACK OF PRIVACY: =================== If you're a prospective tenant, when you're taking a tour of SPACES you'll see the offices all have GLASS WALLS with a bit of frosting (consisting of the SPACES logo). While this construction may seem like you're on the set of some TV law firm, it's actually very bad for company privacy. It's bad enough if someone WITHIN your organization is peering over your shoulder, but it has to be even worse to have passers-by checking out your workers' computer screens. This problem could fixed by hanging ceiling-to-floor verticle blinds. But that would cost money, and I think REGUS/SPACES wouldn't want to cut into their profit-marging by doing so. WORK SURFACES: =================== If you're used to having a cubicle or an office in a corporation, before leasing space here, make sure you try out the work surfaces first. SPACES doesn't have desks. They have WHITE TABLES which aren't very deep. So if you're trying to make hand-written notes as well as working on your computer, you're going to find it cramped. Also, in some of the offices, they have these HUGE SOCKETS clipped to the WHITE TABLES. While this makes it convenient to hook up your laptop or other equipment, it will also put a large, IMMOVABLE OBSTACLE on your desk. VENTILATION: =================== The ventilation often leaves much to be desired, forcing you to leave your door open and suffer from the other major problem - NOISE. This problem could be fixed, but again, I doubt SPACES will spend the money to do so. I asked for enginnering to looking to it one time, and they didn't do anything (except point a heat meter at the vent.) LAYOUT: =================== SPACES is all the way in the back of the campus. And you may find yourself wasting a lot of time walking back and forth from the outside where your car is parked to where your office is. The primary bathroom is also located at the outer perimiter. So again, you (and your workers) will be sucking up a lot of time just getting to one of the bathrooms. This problem is actually not easily fixed because that's how the campus was plumbed from the beginning. NOISE: =================== There are actually three sources of noise, two in the COMMON AREAS and the other one from the other tenants in the offices. COMMON AREA - LOUNGE -------------------- If you're using the lounge area, there is music constantly playing, and usually it's stuff like Taylor Swift and other pop tunes with a lot of auto-tune on the vocals. The speaker system produces a lot of bass. This kind of music doesn't bother some people, but if you're sensitive to it like me, it will drive you crazy. The other problem with the lounge is that it's also a place where some of the full-time tenants have BIG LUNCH GATHERINGS. Update: Security Deposit refund being held up - Not clear on when it would return, was told ACH would take 30 days, which makes no sense at all. - Multiple follow up on status, now they saying that my account is not listed and I have to fill out a form for the 3rd time. -I've escalated to headquarters, still no resolve - Trying to give tenants are hard that they will "forget" about their refunds. The disappointment, deception and inefficiency I had with this place is beyond words. They will have you pay $79 monthly for a virtual office but will send you invoices of numbers they will not tell you at first where it came from. I had a call with their representative to gather all information but with no mention of the charges they are going to send you after you sign up. I tried disputing charges but they onky replied two months after. I decided to terminate the agreement as it was a very toxic business relationship. They will tell you they will call back and give you details but nothing. Then they sent me a confirmation of the termination of my virtual office stating it is effective two years from the termination date. Then of course termination fee invoice after worth $1,877z that again never was mentioned to me during the call. Not recommending this place, don't try to do business here. read more
