RUN from Mountain View Village and Cove Communities. Greg Barton, Enio, and Adriana neglect their tenants and neglect park maintenance. The units are infested with mice. The mice come from behind the dishwasher and through the washer pipes. They gnaw and claw at walls and the floors all night. There are dead roaches from previous tenants behind the electrical outlet covers. The units have plumbing, electrical, and mold issues. They cosmetically fix units to sell or rent them. Mountain View Village has rattlesnakes, bobcats, and coyotes. The area is contaminated from the Santa Susana Field Laboratory testing up the street. It is in a high fire zone, and the power goes out for days. SCE is constantly working on the power lines, and our water goes off for days as well. The office is the only place that gets fiber internet, even though the community was told we would have access to it. The office staff has changed multiple times. The manager used to be Tammy, then it was Jessica, and now it is Enio. Adriana cannot handle simple requests, and Enio doesn't reply to emails. He is too busy calling Jose obese. Jose should contact the EEOC to report a hostile working environment. Jose and the maintenance crew here are part of the issue. Maintenance fixes things poorly which causes more issues. There is another boy here who is rude, and management needs to correct that. If you are having issues with your unit, contact the department of Housing and Community Development to file a complaint. They will get an inspector out here to look at your unit and find code violations that need to be fixed. I will include a picture of how to contact them. I would also advise you to file a complaint with the California Public Utilities Commission for utility complaints. Adriana refuses to provide information pertaining to SCE. Tenants have the right to access account information and the bills that come directly from SCE. I have a hunch that Mountain View Village is overcharging for utilities. You can learn about your tenant rights and get in contact with an attorney through the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and through Stay Housed LA. They hold workshops that inform you on how to deal with neglectful and malicious landlords like Cove Communities, who harass you.
We have been asking Mountain View Village and Cove Communities to fix our unit for almost two years. The carpet is causing us injuries, and there is mold that is making us sick, especially in the bathroom. We are missing windows, which is a fire hazard in our area. The inspector labeled our unit as SUBSTANDARD. He stated he had visited other units in our complex for the same issues as well. Both of the bathroom floors are rotting and collapsing. The holes in the floor cause us to lose our balance and hurt ourselves. We haven't been able to use one of the bathrooms since August 1st due to plumbing issues. Plumbing issues are urgent. We are also experiencing A/C issues and lack of a/c causing is causing us migraines due to the excessive heat. The bathroom vanity is full of mold and water damage. Servpro said the bedroom and bathroom walls have to be opened up because they suspect moisture and mold. As retaliation for contacting HCD, we are being forced out of our unit and being harassed as they refuse to fix the issues. They claim they have been calling us, but we have only received one voicemail last week. They don't call. They refuse to reply to our emails and insist on a "meeting" to force us into another substandard unit. They claim they don't have an update and claim they cannot work on the unit because they don't have the HCD report. The inspector said they do not need the report to start repairs, as I have been complaining about the same issues for about two years. They refuse to speak to me, despite being designated as the primary contact. Management is not on the same page. Find another home for over 3k a month. read more
